We have been coming to this establishment for a few years and have been to all three locations (U Village, Capitol Hill & SLU). The food has always been consistently good, the prices reasonable and the service prompt and friendly. The first time we tried this place, we were amazed at how good the Phở tasted. Unlike many Vietnamese restaurants, this place made stock from scratch. Since then, we have tried pretty much everything on the menu and never been disappointed. Well, almost never. We were disappointed when the Bánh cuốn station disappeared and wish that they would bring this back.
This most recent visit, we had Imperial Rolls, Saigon Singapore Noodles and Spicy Pork Belly flavored with lemongrass and chili, with broken rice and egg on top. All three were delicious! The Saigon Singapore Noddle tasted like authentic Singapore Noddles but with glass noodles. The pork belly, one of my favorites, was tender and smoky and the runny egg yolk brought me to cloud nine.
The Freckled Dragon cocktail was good, but the pandan flavor was too subtle for my taste buds to detect.

I love how fast everything comes out fresh. Their dishes are delicious. The atmosphere is always welcoming and cozy.

Good service, clean, nice decor. We ordered the Hanoi pho (top) and the combo vermicelli. If you’re a regular connoisseur of Vietnamese food, you might notice that these portions are smaller (and more expensive). The Hanoi broth (which is typically lighter and usually less sweeter than Saigon pho) was actually sweeter and more earthy. The vermicelli was pretty tasty and the protein that was included was very flavorful (chicken, shrimp, pork sausage, pork imperial roll). But it was the fish sauce that made the dish great.
Since this is ar U Village there are lots of parking spots all around including the parking garages.

Although many of you know about Pho but I would like to highlight the other two soup noodles bowl on this fall weather which highly recommend to try. my personal favorite soup noodles.
Mi Vịt Tiềm & Bốn Bộ Huế
The Duck confits herbals egg noodles in rich broth. The Spicy pork shank, beef brisket & Vietnamese pork Sausage,(Cha Lửa) with round rice noodles , this is a meat lover bowl & spicy soups person.
I have to say the ambiance is relaxing a twist of the east meet west. Friendly knowledgeable staffs if you don’t know what to eat ask the server they would recommend you some special items. I don't drink but seem like they have a full bar there, nice to take a break after shopping for a cocktail and Vietnamese appetizers for snacks.
I been there multiple times and I think they deserve a good reviews for the restaurant the price may on a bit higher side but it’s well worthwhile to treat yourself.

This is a really cute restaurant with nice interior design and good food! They have happy hour 2-5pm on weekdays! We had the fried oyster and chicken wings with one drink under $20! Our server is super friendly and she checks on us pretty often. Overall really great dinning experience here.

Pretty nice place to have a great Vietnamese food and a drink with friend, very conveniently located at a corner of U village. Way much easier to get in than the SLU store. Had a great time

Ba Bar's U Village location is a cute blue dot on the less busy side of the street. The food looks and tastes fresh and is actually on the healthy side. Soup noodles were delicious - our table ordered the curry noodles and pho ga tron. While the curry flavor was pleasant, I thought the pho could use more meat and quickly turned into a mass of noodles that overwhelmed the soup.
Don't sleep on the salads here. They are all fresh and vibrant. The shrimp salad was a favorite of mine. It has the sweetness you'd expect from pineapple and slight pungency from the fish sauce. The saigon wings are not bad if you like a sweet wing.
The star for me is the vermicelli combos with chicken and rotisserie meats. All of it was cooked perfectly and tasted great, especially with the provided dipping sauce. The rockfish surprised me with how good it was.
For dessert, it was pandan passionfruit cake. Who doesn't love pandan? Bit dry, but still great 👍🏼
I love this spot! It's cute and trendy and the service was quick and friendly.

Waiter is very forgetful. Forgot about my coffee until I reminded him. Placed an order for the Pandan Cake and it was available at the time of order. However, we we were told it was sold out because someone had taken it. Otherwise, the rest of the experience was pretty good. We ordered Tofu,Seaweed, cabbage salad. It's ok but I would prefer their crispy imperial roll the next time. We ordered Sai Gon chicken wings. Would have preferred that to be unsweetened and perhaps a bit peppery/salty. The Pho was fantastic because the beef was tender and soup was flavorful. It also comes with Chinese donut for you to dip in the soup.

I’ll give them 5.
If anything improvement can be had upon the staff enthusiasm to serve you.
But the actual food is delicious.
Recommend most appetizers, drinks are unique! And the vermicelli is yummy.

Great atmosphere, however, if you're looking for authentic Vietnamese food, you will find only casual Vietnamese flavors here. The dishes are good but they're not very authentic. However, the wings are 10 out of 10 and the drinks are really good as well. So if you come for drinks and wings you're going to have a great time!

Upscale Vietnamese restaurant. Decent selection of food. Bakery is also there to satisfy sweet tooth. I had rock fish vermicelli bowl and it was very good. Their spring rolls are the best. A bit pricy but quality of the food is good.
I am adding one more star because I have not had bad food here after coming here many times.

Pretty good Vietnam food that serves Thai dishes as well. Interior is really nice and warm. I ordered the spicy pork belly with rice and it was delicious. Their portions are small and quite pricey for what you are getting. I hope they can improve and increase the rationing. Will definitely come back to try more dishes!

For my first visit. It was ok. I’m rating 4/5 because the restaurant is gorgeous and goes through different themes year round. However customer service was decent. Not terrible but not superb. Food was ok compared to other places I’ve been to. Prices are fair. I’d definitely give it another shot and try their lunch perhaps but the dish I ordered the beef pho was decent

Can't say enough good things about Ba Bar!!! I crave their chicken vermicelli noodles all the time. The ingredients are always super fresh and HUGE portions. I've been to their Capitol Hill location a few times, and SLU. They're all super similar and consistent. One of my favorite places if you want some decently healthy food with tons of flavor.
Highly recommend the chicken wings and imperial rolls on the appetizer menu!! Or the Pho, or vermicelli noodles.

I went here last night for my birthday dinner and it was a great time. The hostess let us get a drink in the bar while we waited for our table(it was a 35 minute wait to seat 8 people on a Sunday night which is totally understandable!) so that was great. The wait staff last night from 7pm-9pm were wonderful. I do not know their names, but it was a man and a woman serving our table and I would like to let them know that they were fantastic and totally made my night easy and smooth. The food was also delicious, I already knew that! I have had their chicken wings and Pho Tai Nam countless times and they always deliver delicious food every time. They were out of their Pho Ga but we found subs that were even more delicious. If you want to go out with your family, Ba Bar in U village is the way to go rather than Cap Hill, which is super duper cozy but very small.
Thanks again!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ba Bar Vietnamese restaurant, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The restaurant's ambiance was warm and inviting, with a beautiful decor that transported me to the streets of Vietnam.
The menu at Ba Bar offers a wide variety of authentic Vietnamese dishes, and each one I tried was bursting with flavor. From the aromatic pho to the mouthwatering banh mi sandwiches, every bite was a delightful explosion of taste. The ingredients used were fresh and of the highest quality, and it was evident that great care went into the preparation of each dish.
The service at Ba Bar was top-notch. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were happy to answer any questions and provide recommendations based on personal preferences. The service was efficient, yet I never felt rushed, allowing me to enjoy my meal at a leisurely pace.
What truly set Ba Bar apart was their attention to detail. The presentation of the dishes was exquisite, and the portion sizes were generous. It was evident that the chefs take pride in their craft, and it translated into an extraordinary dining experience.
I also appreciated the restaurant's commitment to sustainability. Ba Bar's use of eco-friendly packaging and support for local farmers and suppliers showcased their dedication to responsible practices, which is something I value as a customer.
Overall, I highly recommend Ba Bar Vietnamese restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable dining experience. With its delectable cuisine, welcoming ambiance, and exceptional service, Ba Bar has undoubtedly earned its place as one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in town. I can't wait to return and explore more of their enticing menu.
