The traditional breakfast was good. Perfect amount of food. The toast was delicious, as well as the eggs (scrambled) and hash-browns were crispy and cooked wonderfully.

Great spot but ran out of Sapporo right after ordered it and forgot the blue cheese on my super Cali Cobb Salad. Person at the front taking orders was very nice and helpful. Very nice atmosphere and cool vibe. The spaghetti with meatballs was very good.

Our food experience was amazing overall. I loved the fettuccine Alfredo and everyone in my group enjoyed their food. My only complaint is, my mocha was pretty much half ice. Felt like I only got half a drink, but very small complaint compared to the amazing food.

A nice place to get a quick meal! I went here twice and had breakfast and lunch. I love that they serve breakfast all day which was convenient. I found the carbonara to be a bit oily but it satisfied my craving.
Also, this establishment uses self-bussing which I’m not used to for more formal dining places but it was no issue. Would definitely come back again!

A decent place to get breakfast or lunch. The tea and coffee were pretty good; although we had to get the coffee we made because they forgot the caramel.
The chicken and pork karaage were pretty average; I would order something else in the future.

Great local study spot with a wide variety of food options.
This restaurant has decent food, abundant seating areas, and a wide variety of drink options if you are looking for a more Cafe-like experience. If you need a charging port the options are a bit more sparse, but I've never had any issues beyond a short wait at peak times.

Skillet was amazingly hot and delicious, pumpkin spice latte was one of the best I had even with them training a new barista. Pay at the counter when ordering, self seating and silverware is located by the water station with napkins, butter, jelly, hot sauces and coffee supplies.

Came in to town for a procedure at UW and stayed down the street from this little cafe. In three days we visited this place at least 4 times. Great service and atmosphere. Ate here twice as well as multiple coffee orders. Everything was on point and delicious.

Really great value and large portions! The selection of food is great and it is a really nice spot for students to study and have a meal. Priced accordingly for students and fast and friendly service.

This place SLAPS. 11/10 food & smoothies. Get the green matcha one, you won’t regret it.

I love the music, the views, and the red velvet mocha. Also recommend the milky way drink. Don't forget to ask for them to be extra hot, if that's your preference!

Cool cafe spot! Salad had a good balance of toppings and was giant (which it should be for 14 dollars at lunch). It reminded me of a local version of Panera. I'm not saying it's the best thing I've ever had but it was solid. Would go back. Side note, it has covered outdoor seating which is another plus.

Great little place. It's in the U-District, so it's college-y. It's half cafe, half coffee shop. There's good table space and good menu. My husband and I split the Veggie Omelette. It was just enough for the both of us.

EXCELLENT coffee.

I had seen Cafe on the Ave several times in passing and had always been curious. So when a friend from high school called me up and asked to meet somewhere, I suggested this place.
Walking in you are immediately overwhelmed by all the commotion and crowd (not a great place to study). It was well decorated but the tables and chairs were so tightly spaced that I had several awkward encounters with fellow diners.
After squeezing my way to the front of the restaurant I ordered a quick peach/strawberry/soy smoothie (I was suppose to meet with a group in just 30 minutes). The smoothie was alright, and I was able to find a place to sit and chat with my friend. I had to kind of yell since the acoustics weren't great, but overall it was a pleasant experience.

Variety, plug-ins, all-day breakfast!. I really like this place. The variety of food options is impressive and it has a ton of vegetarian options. The best thing is that they offer all day breakfast. But that's not all. Espresso? Got it. Beer? Got it. Wine? Yep. Tiramisu? Uh-huh. Pat Bingsu? Um... not sure what this is, but yeah, they have that too. Plus, it's a la carte (cafeteria style) so you can keep ordering more and more stuff and our own leisure and not feel weird! Wifi is free and many come with laptops in tow. To me, it's a good place to write and people watch. And write about people watchiing.

You can only get good eggs Benedict here.. I walked in here for breakfast one morning. The place is quaint and clean. The people behind the counter were awesome. The menu had such a large selection that I merely ordered what the counter girl recommended without giving it a second thought. The eggs benedict were so good that I now joke that I will not eat eggs Benedict outside of Seattle. The coffee was ok at best, but that is a minute detail given that the food, ambiance, and customer service more than makes up for it.

This place sucks. Overpriced poor quality food. i used to like coming here since they're open late, until some chick at the counter was a total beotch. i ordered $5 chips and salsa, that comes with NOT ENOUGH salsa and untoasted generic bagged chips. i ask for a little more salsa(don't forget it was five whole dollars). she said she'd have to charge. i was like, really? $5 should get me bottomless fricken chips and salsa. lol i asked her to ask someone, she said no. wow. don't go here if you can avoid it. plus they have super slow internet.

oh yea and they also made me move tables because it was a "fire hazard". i don't really mind about that except for the face that they asked me with an attitude. these people SUCK

never coming here again =/

Think MacD's when you come here. You order at the cash register, your coffee/ plates show up at rhe register, and when you are done your meal, you are expected to "bus" your own table. The difference between MacD's and this place? MacD's doesn't have a "tip your server" jar at the register, MacD's cooks bacon & eggs better (Cafe's eggs and bacon was gross), and MacD's menu is also less expensive! Cafe's saving grace? -the coffee was actually pretty tasty. I don't like MacD's all that much but the food at MacD's is better than here! Thanks!

Good coffee, meh service.. Haven't gotten anything else but the coffee is always delicious. Fun atmosphere, but definitely for students and young people. The baristas could be a little nicer.

You get what you expect. Stopped in for breakfast. Had a breakfast burrito since it was one of the more reasonably priced items. Was still a little expensive for the small sized burrito. The burrito was really cheesy, which some may like. Coffee was good. Ambiance is good. The music wasn't playing too loud so I could hear the person I was talking to. Also lots of places to sit, a lot of students were studying/doing work.

Only Good Coffee. The coffee here is pretty good, but that is to be expected at most local coffee shops. I've ordered food here a few times and it usually disappointments. The food is fairly expensive, almost $10 for half a sandwich and a small bowl of soup, and it's really not worth that price. The quality is mediocre at best. With the wide variety of food available on the Ave. this just isn't a place to eat at!

Nice and cool !!. Had a chicken club sandwich and alki beach sunrise
spend couple of hours on my laptop it was awesome.

Lackluster. At about four blocks from my house, this place is not really worth walking too. The coffee was great. However, the food wasn't. The flavors of the pita pocket sandwich seemed like something you could easily get from McDonald's. It looked fresh, but it tasted uninspired. I have also had the roasted vegi sandwich. Once again, it just was not something that tasted like it was worth eight dollars.

Yet, this place seems to have potential. I may give them another try in a few months.

Good food, and a great place to hang out and study. The baristas are great, and I appreciate the organic and fair trade stuff.

Great atmosphere, service lacking. The atmosphere is really cool.

However, the lady who took my order didn't pay attention to anything I said. I ordered a sandwich on white bread, with turkey and mustard only. I received a sandwich on wheat bread, with turkey, lettuce, tomatoes, and more. I also ordered a plain salad with caesar dressing, and received a salad with a ton of toppings. Too annoyed to complain and get another order.
