All that and a bowl of candy! Best Ethiopian in town! Friendly small business. And candy with the check :)

We decided to try this place out because of the other reviews. At first I was a little apprehensive because of the look of the building. However the Ethiopian food was really good. The owner should consider changing locations though. We had the Doro Begomen and the Lamb Tibs. Both was very good with large portions. Don't let the outside of this place fool you. The food is really good and service was good as well.

Just a little neighborhood eatery, and not very grand from the outside, but the food is off the chain. I really appreciate that they don't water down the seasonings to attract non-East-African customers. We got the Sunset Combo (pictured) and the Avocado Salad (which is just avocado and a bit of tomato, with a nice sour-salty dressing, and some onion and jalapeño to add even more flavor. Plus they serve it with crusty Vietnamese bread - gotta love the South End.) The Combo has the usual variety - with LOTS of meat dishes. The yellow split peas could have used a little more seasoning the last time we ate from Sunset Cafe, but otherwise the whole plate was pretty much perfect. Two of us ate half the combo for dinner and I had leftovers for breakfast and lunch the next day. Plus there's a full bar and we plan on going back for a little night out. Ethiopian and Eritrean restaurants come and go in Seattle, but Sunset Cafe appears to be a keeper. It's become our go-to spot for tummy-warming food.

Great service, delicious food, and unbeatable value! We fed 3 hungry people for under $30, with tons of leftovers.

Absolutely lovely spot. Amazing food, amazing portions, very friendly staff (ALL MASKED), overall very clean all with beautiful Ethiopian music in the background. We split the 8 dish veggie combo and it was plenty of food for two people. Also the variety of flavors within that were to die for. Prices were very fair if not on the cheap end. Highly recommend hitting this place up!

Service is slow as it is a one woman show, but the food and presentation fantastic. I've eaten at many great Ethiopian places and it is one of my favorite cuisines. This ranks up at the top. There are items on the menu I have never seen before. Price point is excellent. A lot of food for a very reasonable price.

The best Ethiopian food ever, anywhere! Beautifully seasoned, served by friendly, attentive people. Managed by someone who clearly puts a lot of care and skill into preparing the food. The veggie combo goes way beyond the normal range of items and flavors. The green beans are amazing.

It is the best Ethiopian food ever. It is like having your favorite grandma's food every time I come here. Very sweet owner. Nice waitress. Very homely place. The meat combo is my favorite. And the kitfo is to die for. Amazing place.

This is the first time I've had ethiopian cuisine and it was delicious! I've never had such a pleasing blend of spiciness in food before. The lone chef/server was very friendly and despite a stiflingly warm dining area (it was pretty warm today) my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals! The mint coffee at the end was just perfect. Presentation of the food was also great!

Did takeout. Food was excellent. Ordered extra injera. There were two types, white and brown. We ordered shiro wat. Misil wat. The zilzil tibs was tasty, but quite tough

I visit this family run restaurant at least once a week. I always have the veggie combo, so my review is limited to that. The owner and chef makes the veggies everyday, and the quality backs up that claim. She makes her own injera as well. She has a wide variety of veggies, and once in a while, she experiments with an additional veggie for us to try. This makes my visits a bit different every time, in a good way. The pricing is quite attractive, and they accept cards including AMEX. All the staff are friendly, and can get pleasantly chatty if you would like.

Have been here too many times now which means I love the place. Every time I go we order the veggie comb and 1 veggie combo is more than sufficient for 2 people. Loved everything that was served, generous portions and it's interesting how the host explains what goes on the plate every single time. Definitely recommend.

Visited here with my friends yesterday. Sunny, there owner of this cafe is the perfect host. She offers generous portions of the combo meal and on free days also explains each item on the plate. We ordered the veggie combo and loved what's on there plate. A combo plate is perfect for two. There's also a coffee ceremony that sunny conducts on a Sunday which apparently has the best Ethiopian coffee served after an elaborate process. This cafes prices are extremely affordable and its a great experience dining here.

The food was delicious! The goat was our favorite! The Chai was also -amazing-! We will definitely be going back. I would say that if you plan on going be patient and put any of your restaurant expectations aside- this is a somewhat of a Somalian social club (people are in and out all the time, I'm not sure who works there and who is just helping the owners out) so that is its target audience. That said, we felt very welcome.

Service is great when Sunny is not busy. Spent a summer in Ethiopia so food here exactly the flavors I encountered in Ethiopia. I now rat here 2-3 times a week. Food is healthy and filling. Prices are extremely reasonable.
