I give the Duchess 5 stars because when I visited yesterday, one of the staff members did something that few restaurants or bars ever do anymore.
They thanked me for visiting and ‘joining them for the evening - asking then if they could do anything for me. The lady who welcomed me had a warm smile and was truly lovely. I will be forever a fan of the Duchess having simply been thanked for visiting. Top class!

Awesome bar with a friendly vibe. The kitchen has some tasty food as well—we got the chicken tenders and cheese steak. They have 3 pools tables. So, there’s usually one open. New favorite bar in the area!

Friendly staff. Tasty burger and fries. Had a Seattle Cider on draft (important for folks with Celiacs disease). Very chill environment, but the music was a little loud (but good selection). Overall, my wife and I really enjoyed our visit and will come back again.

Great neighborhood meeting spot. Casual and laid back, been around since 1934! Full bar and lots of cold drafts on tap. Great burgers and wings along with other pub fare and always good music playing thanks to Misha! Tell Natile or Will that Troy sent you.

Great wait staff & pool tables to use!
They can't seem to keep people from smoking outside in the back while the door is open, even with a sign asking people not to smoke. People also smoked outside on the sidewalk, so we were trapped inside.

I really like this bar. The owner is a righteous dude, it's a good place to watch sports and play a game of pool. There is friendly attentive staff, friendly folk, good dogs allowed, occasionally I get work done here too. The kitchen is clean, the food is fair, hot, quick, and yummy.

Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Service is good. Drinks are good. I've been going here for 20 years... lol. Yikes! But, this is one of the oldest establishments in Seattle. It's pretty much a destination. Props!

One of my favorite places to go after tailgating if I’m not attending the Husky game. Food is good. Portions are hefty. Beer prices are great. Plenty of games and TVs to keep you entertained.

Went on a Tuesday night, had lots of fun at the pool tables. The line to get drinks moved fast, and the staff were all super friendly and professional. Likely will return again!

Local old school Roosevelt HS and UW haunt. It's basically Cheers for the locals. Known for its "ambiance," though using that word is a stretch. Good beer. Decent bar food. Don't ask the bartenders to make fancy cocktails, though. Not that they won't. It's just that they... shouldn't. ;)

I Come here every couple weeks and it's one of my favorite divey bars in Seattle(also 2 min from my house). Me and my friends love it cause they have pool tables, darts, basketball, shuffleboard, and a fireplace. So lots to do while you drink! Only issue is there have been some people that are way too drunk that slapped my friends butt and yelled at us while we played pool. Other than that I love this place and will see you there!

I liked thos spot great shuffleboard table and pool tables, large area so didn't feel super cramped. The food is fine for bar food but the drink prices were fantastic. If you are a huskies fan you need to come check this place out too the owner clearly cares about that team a lot.
