This is amazing Dim Sum. Friendly staff. I will always recommend this place!!!
Fresh and tasty.,Good service,Free parking.
Love this place and wanna come back again.
We were just coming off of a cruise with some pretty bad after taste left by nasty dim sum in Victoria's Golden City. Our uncle Andy took us to Ocean Star and it was like day and night. Authentic, fresh and tasty! Will be back for sure!
Very friendly service and nice atmosphere. Free parking lot with like 20 spaces which is amazing for being in Chinatown! Tons of seating and good for large get togethers or events.
All the food was pretty good and had a standard type of flavor. No big downsides. They have all day dim sum to order along with their other normal dishes. Some items were priced a little higher than normal, but there were some good deals as well. The duck was a fair portion for a fair price ($8.50). It did seem a little old, but it was still yummy. The tripe was somewhat muted in flavor, but we finished it all. Green beans had a nice flavor and a fresh crunch to them. Good portion. Rice was $1.50 per small rice bowl, which might be my only complaint.
They do give you complementary hot tea.

WoW the food here is so delicious I couldn't stop eating. You must eat here now. The hostess was super sweet and took time to show our son how to use chopsticks for the first time.
We enjoyed a fabulous lunch here, sharing our dishes, and boxing up what we couldn't finish. The portions are huge, colorful, and beautiful. The soup was outstanding and very spicy! Yum!
The first time I came here was when I took my grandmother out to lunch (Dim sum) - the moment she told me it was her favorite place, I knew I was going to love it. The second time I came through was with my driver and his large Lincoln Navigator - we tried going to there other restaurants before I remembered Ocean Star has a ginormous parking lot! Who has parking in Chinatown?! Ocean star does. Now I returned for a sounders game and it’s still wonderful. Great food, extremely attentive and helpful staff, and I’ll go ahead and repeat the great food again! I had the Veggie foo Yong (thicker and tastier than others), veggie fried rice (tastier than others veggie FR), and honey walnut prawns.
No wait line but have to write down my order, I prefer when they bring the carts around instead. The dim sum was good except for mango pudding and red bean coconut pudding. Watch out when you order because it can get pretty pricey.
Sooo many delicious dishes! We ordered a range of items to share. The honey walnut prawns in particular, insanely good — already one of our fave dishes and these were some of the best we’ve had. Go hungry and leave happy!
Wow what a beautiful place this is! My server was over the top sweet, she was very smily as soon as I walked in. Very kind, very patient when I was asking for the vegan options and took her time very kindly explaining to me. She was over the top SO SO kind and sweet. The food was great and they even gave us custom vegan chow Meir. Food was pretty pricy it was like $60-80 for me and my partners meal and I had vegan chow mein and asparagus and he had beef chow mein. But overall very lovely experience due to the server and also the restaurant was just very beautiful in itself. Also at the end the server literally put our food in our to go boxes just as a kind favor, she went completely out her way in kindness. God Bless her. Thankyou Ocean Star in China town. You’re awesome!
We went for my grandmothers birthday and had a blast. Dim sum is great to share and they also have full size portions of things on the dim sum menu. We should have kept better track of what we got but it all worked out.
Fresh taste. Nice quality Dim Sum. Only order by item selection at the moment. The menu has a majority of the items but missing some of the items we like. Overall enjoyed our meal and would come back.
A good dim sum restaurant with good regular dishes. Nothing extraordinary in terms of taste or diversity of dishes, but prices are reasonable. Given the huge population of Asians, I expected better, so I probably wouldn't come here again. Service was ok as well. The parking lot is small, but I've come to understand that's normal in Seattle.
Are is here my opinion as a chef, Asian fusion , French and American cuisines. This place is better than I thought. I thought it would be more Americanized. So, I ordered mostly traditional Chinese dishes. All the dishes we ordered were good with the exception of the scallion Oyster. The oyster breading was too much and over cooked. Also it was way too much white onion and didn’t taste the actual oyster. The black chicken soup is quite good with good flavor. The steam claim with ginger was cooked just right, tender and very favorable. The deep fry pigeon was ok, good taste. I also ordered garlic steam Dungeness crab. It was done perfectly.
I can’t comment Americanized dishes since I don’t usually order those. I like to stick to traditional Italian, French, Asian cuisine.
The service was very good and very attentive.
Price wise, well I ordered quite a lots of seafood so the tab was a bit higher than normal. Overall, I think it is between $$ - $$$.
I will definitely come again.
Awesome ambiance, fast courteous service. Good parking too
This is one of the better Cantonese dim sum restaurant in China town area, with decent food, reasonable price, and fast service. A lot of elder Cantonese people living nearby seem to go here for dim sum on daily basis, which is a good indication about the overall quality of this place.
Went here when we really wanted dim sum with no wait or frills. Pretty basic menu, but they didn’t have rice noodles/rolls when we came. That was the only downside. Chili oil had good flavor and everything came out fast. I’ll most likely go again if my usual go-to isn’t so busy.
There shrimp balls are smaller than about 8 months ago and there supposed pork and shrimp sui mai, had only an 1/8th of a shrimp (not to be confused with a prawn)...
There bbq pork was a 1 out of 5 (was over cooked or perhaps from earlier lunch)!
I use to go here at least every week, but even after Covid'- Perhaps 2x's per year...The only other issue is that there'll charging twice as much for the "beloved deep fried shrimp balls"!
