Review Borracchini's Bakery - Seattle

Went to pick up a birthday cake that I ordered online. They had to order in but the cake we're not ready to be picked up when I arrived there to pick it up. Amazingly, the cake was made it just needed to be decorated. That's a great thing. I'm an easygoing guy so hey no big deal. Also tried their deli chicken parmigiana. The lady kindly asked us if we wanted it to be heated up. We said sure why not. So, we ate at the little space where you can eat at the south side of the building while they decorated our cake. To be a deli purchase, the chicken parmigiana quite delicious! The staff are friendly and helpful. Also, they are hiring at this time so, if you know anyone that needs a job a they need to go there and apply in person. It was a lovely experience and I will definitely go there again.

I lived and hung around Beacon Hill when I was growing up and Borrachini's was a mainstay for my family. I had not been back from probably a decade so I decided to return to see what had changed. A bit has changed about the place, it seemed brighter and better lit when I was inside. They still had a wide array of Italian baked goods. The bakery section was huge and had a ton of breads, pastries, pies, cakes, etc. to choose from. The deli section also had pasta, salads, etc. It's a nice place to visit. I ended up buying a couple day-old eclairs and while they didn't taste very good at room temperature, they were much better refrigerated. Now that I've returned as an adult I will keep them in the back of my mind when I want an affordable meal or dessert.

It’s a family tradition to go here for cakes. The flavor of their chocolate cake is one of the things that makes me feel most at home in Seattle. I love their free samples too, and the great prices of everything. Being able to walk in and purchase a cake for any occasion at anytime, is so convenient and makes me so happy. I got my wedding cake from here, as did my parents, and my grandparents.

"An iconic bakery in Seattle, featuring freshly baked goods, delicious pastries, imported Italian and Mediterranean products, and classic cakes perfect for parties and gatherings." Pros: Delicious and freshly baked goods, wide variety and assortment of Mediterranean products. They also serve deli-style food (pastas, meatballs, etc.) perfect for dinner. The employees are friendly and helpful, always greeting customers with a smile. Prices are decent and there is also available parking. They also have samples of some of the baked goods for people to try, which is a bonus. Cons: Some imported products can be pricey. Bottom-line: I have been coming to Boracchini's ever since I was a kid and is definitely a beloved bakery not only in the southend, but throughout Seattle. The old-school family style of the venue makes you feel right at home and is welcoming and inviting. Lastly, this is a great place to order cakes for parties as they come in a variety of sizes that can satisfy a small or large group. Boracchini's is one of those places where you can enjoy yummy baked goods, friendly service, and historic Seattle nostalgia.

What a great neighborhood bakery for Mediterranean and Italian delicacies. Ready to eat Deli and take-home frozen sections. Large assortment of imported Italian pastas and sauces. Wide selection of freshly baked breads and pastries. Few spacious seating areas inside. Friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic fresh Strawberry Scone with the most airy and tasty cream. Delicious croissant breadsticks and red velvet old-fashioned donuts. Good prices. They also have LaVazza coffee.

Chocolate bars and the glazed cake doughnuts are my favorites. When an occasion comes up for a cake, they can accommodate you same day. Ordered a red velvet with cream cheese frosting for a family gathering. Need a quick bite for lunch, have the staff grill your sandwich, panini style.

Too much good Italian goodies. Everyone is extremely helpful and ready to serve. I did have some time watching a cake being decorated with different color cream icing. Great variety and fresh baked pastries.

They made my wedding cake 30 years ago and I still love everything about Remo Borracchini's Bakery and Deli. If I could change one thing it would be to move the location to the Eastside, but I wouldn't do that... Making a trip into the city for their baked goods is a chore but the taste is Heaven on Earth and nothing you can buy at the local store compare to Borracchini's. I have been going to them for over 35 years and can't wait to buy and grandson birthday cake from them. Our family love this place, I know you will too.

Oh nice, but incomplete selection of Italian and Mediterranean staples and delicacies. It apears as though they have an extensive bakery. I was looking for bulk anchovies and muffuletta spread, which they don’t have. They also offer custom made sandwiches and soups in their deli. Old-fashioned, and the staff is friendly.

I ordered my wedding cake and deserts from Borrachini's and I can't just say enough about them. Their service from day one until my wedding day, the quality of the food and the TASTE! They don't do all the fancy designs but for me it was more important that people will enjoy eating desert and so it was. **The flowers in the pictures have been added separately.

This place is a classic. Seriously don't go to the grocery store for birthday cakes, you have to come here First, the prices are WAY better. Second, the quality and taste is second to none. Plus they have all kinds of sweet bakery treats. Its family owned and been around almost 100 years. Support your local businesses. You will not regret it.

A mainstay of Beacon Hill, Borracchini's has been in business longer than that "secret" cannoli recipe has been in your family for. They did pink boxes before Voodoo made them hip, and often do prices by the pound as opposed to piece. What this means for your capitalistic mindset is that everybody walks away a winner here, for you can leave happy with as little as $5. But what Borracchini's exceeds at in quantity, they often lack quality. This is no slight on there behalf, be certain of that, for if I wanted something real fancy, I would go somewhere real fancy. Instead, Borracchini's is truly a no-frills bakery that simply exists to serve the neighborhood affordable takes on Italian classics. Plus, their cobbler is damn good.

Lots of shopping options(party supplies/cards/some grocery). Great pizza and dessert selection. The chocolate cookies are ridiculously good. There's usually samples available to try. Slow service but friendly. Free parking available.

I just seen on Facebook from their page that they’re reopening. Is this true? If so where?

The best Mediterranean market in Seattle, and also if you want a birthday cake this is where you need to go!

Best cakes in Seattle, they are always a hit and gone fast when brought to events. Sweet but not heavy. Breads are very light, pastries have a lot of the same taste/density. Deli counter is decent, but not the greatest experience with frozen meats. House made sauce is pretty good. Great selection of imported products, been shopping here my entire life.

The selection of groceries and pastries were excellent as always. If we had been there first when opened more would have been available. The Deli is,amazing as usual. Bummer though not enough ice, and they were out of soda for the Italian sodas....but it was 80 degrees so they had been very, very busy making the Italian Sodas! Planning to have them make our 25 th Wedding Anniversary cake.

Best Italian market / bakery! Wide selection of baked goods, including baklava! We ordered our wedding cake & sliced breads from them for our wedding reception, which they delivered to our venue. Yummy cakes! Easy ordering standard cakes online! Lines run quickly & smoothly by taking a number . Always ample staff on hand to serve & take orders. Service excellent!

They have done many birthday cakes and wedding cakes for my family. My dad knows Remo, personally. We used to live in South Seattle but we moved to Graham. We still make the hour drive to Borracchini's for cakes. My favorite is their vanilla cake with raspberry filling and their famous white Bavarian cream "frosting". Anytime we go by the bakery or even in the bakery to pick up a cake, we always buy egg challah bread. It's hands down best bread to make French toast with or to just add some butter to for a snack. I also love their cookies, turnovers, and of course the cannolis!

My family has always turned to Borracchini’s to provide excellent cakes and tastey imports. You never ever fail. I am writing to also tell you that you have a very talented and caring cake decorator by the name of Stephanie. She was super busy with the normal weekend rush but paused to listen to what design request was. She told me it wouldn’t be a problem but it would cost extra and take an hour. I was delighted. In an hour my cake was done. She did an AMAZING job. (There’s a tall young Latino that decorated a cake for me a couple months ago and it was a typical design but he was just as friendly and professional. I wish I could recall his name.)Thank you for making my daughter’s cake delicious and memorable. Your wonderful, talented staff make events special. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!

Best cakes EVER!!!! Not too sweet, the frosting is like whipped cream. I live 80 miles away and will drive the distance just for a Remo Borracchini's cake....it's worth the drive.
