Review Pho Cyclo Cafe - Seattle

Nick Low
Food presentation is ok. But the taste is very poor. Meat is as hard as rock. Seasoning has no taste and overall is so bland. Pretty much no taste at all. Portion is small. Very disappointed. However the egg role is tasty. Other than that really nothing much to shout about. Overall, I would give 2/10 for all the food I ordered.

First, even though I was the first person in there, the service was still excellent and attentive. Cleanliness (of the dining area) was good and the interior of the place was done up nicely. Spring rolls were pretty standard and were okay. Pho Cyclo, #15, was just okay. Undercooked noodles, not much basil or jalapeños provided and just one small slice of lime. Noodles undercooked, meatballs very fatty and broth a bit lackluster, but still for the price, not bad. Where I really had issue was the restroom. Not only did it smell worse than a homeless piss trough, (smelled STRONGLY of urine) it was heavily vandalized, not particularly sanitary and overall just very appetite ruining. Sad really, the front of the place is well put together, meanwhile the bathroom has a busted soap dispenser with, unsurprisingly, "This is why we can't have nice things" sharpied on it, graffiti, trash, and a mirror so scratched you can barely see yourself in it. I'll post pics. I realize it's a rough neighborhood, but the dining experience shouldn't be ruined by a trip to the bathroom. Fix it.

This place rocks! Great service, solid location, and tasty food! The pho is always great on a colder day and the broth has good flavor that you can spice it up! Potstickers are the perfect crispiness! I’m so happy PHO this meal - potstickers are a bonus! 🍜🌶🥩🍲🥟🥢 @PhoCycloCafe 📸:🍜 #15 Pho Cyclo (Tai Nam Gau, Gan, Sach, Bo Bien) - cyclo house special noodle soup with the works: rare steak, flank, fatty flank, tendon, tripe, and meatballs 📸: 🥟 Pork Potstickers

I loved this place before the rename. The Pho- The broth is super bland with almost no flavor. I ordered my Pho with rare steak and meatballs. What I got was thick cut, super fatty, over cooked, grainy beef. I removed it all from the soup and tried to stomach the rest. I’m not one to trash business online, but the fact that she wanted to acuse me of not knowing what I ordered and not offering any discount or understanding of my concerns made me write this review. There’s plenty of other places to get awesome Pho in Seattle. I don’t recommend this place for Pho.

This restaurant is a joke. The service is extremely bad. I asked for papaya salad, the papaya is extremely raw and dry. I asked for help several times and I was ignored. Finally, I politely asked them to replace for a spring roll instead. And the owner was extremely rude. He said there's nothing wrong with their food, this is how it supposed to be done, and it's my fault that I ordered it. He said I was almost done with my meal which is not true. I showed in the picture of how much I ate. And he can not resell it. Finally, I paid $9 of food I hate and barely ate.

Ordered through Doordash (had a terrible delivery experience, but not blaming the restaurant for that) and ordered a tofu bahn mi and the tofu ginger lettuce wraps. Tofu bahn mi: 4/5 Not bad, especially for the price. Didn't grab a photo unfortunately as I was starving when my food arrived. I liked that the tofu was marinated and flavorful. I would have like a little more veggies, but can't complain for 5 bucks. Ginger tofu lettuce wraps: 5/5 These are delicious! The tofu and mushrooms are super saucy and flavorful. It comes with pickled carrots and radish and a sweet and sour sauce -- all of which go really well together in the lettuce wraps. It's a pretty good amount of food for one person and I would probably come back to order this. Will probably give them another shot since I like how they prepare their tofu so much in both these dishes.

This place has plenty of seating if you are planning to host a large gathering. Friendly service. Large portion and affordable. Broth was ok.

Food is usually good, found a long black hair in my noodles on my previous dish though. None of my housemates have long black hair..

Above average pho. Broth is the best! And the house hot sauce is the key. Lemongrass beef also excellent. Try the fatty flank for maximum flavor

Good pho, and decently priced! Service was fast, and the meal came with green tea. The fresh shrimp rolls were also delicious. The small order of pho is enormous...can't imagine what the large order would be like!

I used to frequent this place a lot. I found the decor just adorable. My last and final visit I got a bowl of rare beef pho and I'm eating enjoying my meal with a friend and then a big harry fly surfaces. I call the server over and she wanted to replace my bowl of pho but my concern was not with my bowl but every bowl of pho with broth scooped out of the same pot. I hate to complain, I'll even eat a dish if there is a hair in it, but a fly is a fly. Since then I just couldn't bring myself to go back.

In our continuing series on the goodness of pho in our esteemed city, we find ourselves at Pho Cyclo, in particular their location on Broadway. We first discovered Pho Cyclo doing a little research on pho places; wanting to branch out and try some new pla

In explaining its name, Pho Cyclo tells us that "the cyclo drivers are the eyes and ears of the local street scene" who can "point you to where you can always get a delicious meal at a great price." Seattlest can now tell you about a pho place that will a

We had no idea when we held our January bánh mì taste-off that this would become the most talked about sandwich in Seattle come February. While delicious and cheap, these nondescript Vietnamese sandwiches are so commonplace here that they don't typically get a lot of attention. But after the New York Times' piece two weeks ago covering their picks for best bánh mì in America, including two from Seattle, people started prodding me, "Hello? When are you going to post your taste-off results?"

Pho Cycle has an incredibly satisfying vegetarian dish: the Spicy Lemongrass tofu with noodles. It comes in typical Vietnamese noodle bowl fashon with a big bunch of basil and herbs, a nest of tender rice noodles, chopped peanuts, cucumber, shaved radish,

Pho Tai Nam. The broth was a touch sweet but very tasty. In particular I enjoyed the sweet chili sauce that came with the sprouts and basil as that added a unique flavor to the soup.

Pretty decent Pho. A little sweet but good. Quality of beef was very good. Service was typical of Pho places, a little mechanical but efficient. Certainly beats the crap out of Than Bros down the the street, which only stays open because it's cheap and their customers have pretty non-discriminating tastes.

Pho gan. Best broth

-----25 Mar, 2013-----

Pretty good pho.... Pros: Customizable meats, lots of menu items, free hot tea, okay price
Cons: Pho is pretty good.

Good pho, service is mediocre at best

Food is just OK and service is just about as bad as it gets. There are many options for Pho on Broadway, go somewhere else.

Quick, light and cheap. We stopped in and had lunch Saturday afternoon. After the normal argument over to Pho or not to Pho, I won and Kelly agreed to eat there after she viewed a nice grilled dish. I love Pho and she thinks it tastes like swamp water so we go bout after bout over this. I normally lose because most PHO place only serve PHO. Cyclo is great because they have a varied menu. We both ordered chicken. Kelly had grilled chicken and rice and although the argument for PHO, I opted for chicken with veggies and rice noodles. The noodles were a tad dry, but the chicken was good for both of us and my iced tea was great. I will go back just for the iced tea! The food is light and seemingly healthy. It was quick clean and inexpensive. It isn't going to burn up the local food awards, but it was a solid quick eat.

Good food. Worst service I have ever had.

Enjoyed the food for the 15 minutes I had it... Nearly didn't make it the one block home.... twice. (Insert oft-quoted G. W. Bush quote regarding the number of times one can be fooled)

First off, the mural they have going around the entire store is amazing! I went to Pho Cyclo not expecting much but I was thoroughly pleased by the time I had to go. The Pho tasted hearty and not watered down. The price was also reasonable for a large since other places charge you more and give you less. The person who went with me ordered the chicken Pho and said they actually used real chicken! I am Vietnamese myself and I was really impressed with the environment and the cooking. They also played classic RnB music which made it a lot of fun to listen to! Overall, even though Pho cyclo does not offer cream puffs...there's one thing that they offer that's different from the rest and that's class. I highly recommend Pho cyclo for any of your Pho cravings if you're ever in the capital hill area. (also, if you have the patience to find parking) Its also recommended that everyone should try their slow drip coffee with ice & condensed milk.

Veggie Pho. It's hard to get vegetarian pho that fulfills the craving, but Pho Cyclo does a great job. Their vegetarian broth and all the fixins make their veggie pho delicious.

Could have better service. The food is good and the facility pretty clean. the service needs improvement. the wait staff tend to do things at their own pace. if you go, don't expect a hare but rather the tortoise.

Excellent!. Very yummy Bun; the spring rolls, I could take 'em or leave 'em.

Awesome Bahn mi!!. Their bahn mi sandwiches are amazing and addictive. I highly recommend the grilled pork. I am not a huge fan of their pho, but the sandwiches are definitely a highlight. Their egg rolls are also great - some of the best on the hill. Bubble tea is more like a shake here, it's decent.

Fast, okay Vietnamese. It's alright..nothing great, but good for a quick noodle bowl on Broadway. Fun interior is made to look like you're eating in a cobblestone street courtyard. Don't get pho here, go up the block to Than Brothers.
