Review Cafe Allegro - Seattle

My favorite cafe in the world with happy memories from 2007. It's still kept its own vibe and atmosphere since then! Strongly recommend Allegro's special menu, mezzo mezzo (half coffee half milk, better in hot). This cafe is just the right place for mind wandering such as reading or writing!

Nice cafe hidden behind the Ave. It even has a ton of seating hidden as well. It has a nice menu and the taste is good. It's artsy and has a lot of character which is nice to see. The prices are relatively low which is great. The staff was friendly and inviting. I asked which is better: grapefruit or orange juice and got some good pros of each, and was even offered a mix of both which I took. It was a little bitter which they described, still tasted good. I'll be here again and recommend you try out too. It's right across MOD Pizza.

Tucked inside an alley, this busy espresso bar serves great coffee. When we arrived this place was busy, so even though we managed to secure a table, the baristas were able to only serve to-go orders.

This is such a cute little coffee shop! The prices are econmical, plenty of seating, and the vibe is downright mellow. It can get a little crowded, but given the proximity to the university, I understand. Great for a local/student, but not much else. Not a lot of food options, but that's okay! You're in the U-District!

Amazing cafe tucked away in random alley adjacent to UW campus. Beware coffee is scalding hot. Do let it cool before drinking. 😂

A true hidden gem in the university district! If you’re looking for a quiet place to drink quality coffee, look no further! Excellent service by the baristas, affordable drinks, and multiple seating areas, what’s not to like? My partner and I arrived on a Sunday morning around 11:00 and were immediately greeted. A small latte and small dirty chai cost us under $10 and were ready within 2 minutes of us placing our order. Cafe Allegro has become a weekly spot for us and I recommend this spot to anyone wanting good coffee and good vibes. 🙂☕️

The location is strange, tucked in an alley near the UW campus, which is generally a bad in Seattle, but it is wide and clean enough to make you cautiously proceed. Inside the cafe sports high ceilings and a small space, with additional seating located next door and upstairs. The baristas are friendly and complimented my outfit, so they win for that. The coffee is pretty good too. Capuccino and Latte both well made. Overall, I'd recommend visiting if you're in the U District.

Cute place, good selection and f coffee and milk alternatives. Wifi was great! There's a bathroom that's decent, also decently clean. It's a bit hidden between two main streets but it's a well lit, clean alley with outside seating. So... Worth the stop!

Loved this cafe! Breakfast sandwiches were both delicious, the Apple fritter was to die for, staff were friendly and the cafe had a nice chill vibe!

A little odd to find, since it's tucked in a rough alleyway, but worth the wander. Cozy, artsy, and very tasty. I got an americano and a pesto egg pastry, and grabbed a bag of beans on my way out.

Very nice hidden gem!! My roommate and I came to study and they have outlets conveniently located along the walls. The place has chill cozy vibes. It’s been a while since I’ve met a super friendly barista with good recommendations :) I got the iced strawberry vanilla latte with oat milk and it was delicious! It tasted like strawberry milk with a hint of coffee. I’d recommend it for those who don’t like an espresso forward flavor. I’ll be back to try one of their regular lattes next time! We both got the quinoa burrito since they had limited food options close to closing. We were pleasantly surprised at how filling the burrito was! It’s decently priced for $7.65 considering its portion size. Can’t wait to try their other food!

One of the best spots in the U District, right next to the venerable Magus Books. They have choice espresso--especially when cardamom pods are involved--mocha beverages that hold their own, and seasonal drinks. It's also a solid place to study since the vibe is usually pretty subdued and there's a lot of seating options (though not always available). Occasionally, there will be cool distractions outside: I've seen skateboarders and a talented dancer tearing up the alleyway.

Great neighborhood coffee region Amazing cappuccino and white mocha. Chocolate croissant and cheese danish had been terrific as properly. The food is delicious, proper, and worth each penny.

Cute little spot. I would love to just sit and enjoy a cup of coffee here. It is down the alley, prepare to walk to you coffee. We have our beans shipped from Seattle to NJ, the coffee is that good, and I am happy to report. Even better fresh.

Legendary coffee shop that makes great drinks. Been serving Espresso since 1975. I found it in 1990, and I always stop by whenever I'm in the area.

Best Chai I've ever had. I'm dairy free so I had mine with almond milk. Gotta love the god daughter for her amazing pallet.

Typical rainy Seattle days call for typical chai tea lattes... so when my friends and I got back from the farmers market by 50th, we thought it would be fun to try out a new cafe.
Cafe Allegro is down a not so sketchy alley and is flanked by a wonderfully cute used bookstore and an ivy wall. Our little group all donned with different colored rain coats entered the building in a frill of giggles. The interiors are cute and cozy with whimsical art and posters. I ordered my soy, chai latte from the kind man behind the counter and received my drink from a not so friendly barista. Man though, that barista made a good chai! It was in between sweet and spicy, a good happy medium. I sipped away happily while waiting for my friends orders and then we were off on our way back to campus, a bit soaked to the bone but now happy as clams.

It's apparently Seattle's oldest coffee shop and it has all of the elements to not question that title at all! It is out of the way, down an alley and you kind of need to be watching for it in order not to miss it.

I make at least one monthly trip to the U District to get my Scarecrow Video fix and to check out shops and restaurants that I have bookmarked. I hit Cafe Allegro a month or two ago and was glad I did! Their pastry items all look very homemade and wonderful and the hot drinks have that extra attention needed to make sure you are in a good indie coffee shop.

I had one of their sugar cookies and a mighty fine iced coffee brew which hit the spot on that hot summer day I came into this place.

A great coffee shop...but of course it is Seattle...lots of good coffee shops everywhere!

In an alley just off of the UW campus sits a hidden gem: Cafe Allegro. There is a sign out on the sidewalk directing people down an alley to where the cafe is located.

Tremendous Atmosphere. Having spent 8 years earning various degrees at the UW, I had the opportunity to study at numerous coffee shops throughout the area. Without any doubt, Allegro is the best place to study. Free Wi-fi, adequate espresso (sometimes tastes a little burnt), ample seating, and a nice, quiet place to read. Good pastries as well. Prices are a little above average, but overall a great place to sit, drink deeply of caffeinated beverages, and crank out some work product.
