Walked by and took a chance and I'm glad I did. We had the cochinita pibil and the pozole. The cochinita had good flavor I just wished it was spicier. I asked for salsa for extra heat but it was kind of bland and not hot at all, oh and they charged a dollar for it so that was annoying. The real standout was the pozole, it was AMAZING. I don't usually get that dish out at a restaurant because it widely varies on who makes it but I'm glad we did. I will say, the size of the plates are HUGE so make sure you come hungry. The restaurant itself was spotless and the service was friendly. I'd go back.
10/10 rating. These tacos were so flavorful and legit. I got the carnitas tacos and they were a perfect blend of juicy & lemony. This place is so underrated. AND THE ART ❤️ love & would recommend this place to a friend and family member any day.
Came in for happy hour. Food was amazing so were the drinks. Service was good. Would definitely stop by again if in the area.
Great bar/nice menu collection
Trendy bright location with a good craft beer selection and Happy hour options. Friendly and warm staff.
Food was a delightful surprise. Delicious and presented nicely. Only reason I did not give five stars is that I'm hard of hearing and the environment was a bit noisy making it hard to hear conversations that are part and parcel of eating out. That said, I'd definitely go back to try other dishes.
The macaroni and cheese is a perfectly shareable side - especially since it's so rich. Delicious! Great food & atmosphere, nice and casual. Good spot to grab a drink.
Ask to be seated with Wade - he is wonderful.
We stopped here on New Year's eve for a bite to eat. I had a chicken sandwich. It was amazing. My husband had tacos. We were both very happy with our food and gave our compliments to the chef.
Good tacos. Nice place and helpful staff. HH specials as well.
Visited during Taco Tuesday. I tried the Al Pastor tacos and Papas con Chorizo tacos and there were pretty good. However, I also tried the Carnitas tacos and those were superb: very tender and tasty carnitas! Plus, the green salsa is very good too; just beware because it's truly hot (great to help clear your sinuses). To drink, the horchata was good too. Next time, I need to try the rest of the tacos available... ;)
Best kept secret in Downtown! Hidden beneath the scaffolding around Moore Theater, I almost don't want to tell you about it, and just keep it to myself! Lunchtime Friday and only four tables (20%) filled, and certainly not because of a lack of food quality. I've walked past this place for months before entering today. I asked Tanja, the bartender/server, how long they'd been there and she replied, "three years.". THREE YEARS! And I only noticed it a couple of months ago! Anyhow, the food was fantastic, they made my carnitas tacos with lettuce because I'm no carbs these days, and my brother took half of his plate home with him. This place is definitely on our short list for our future Friday lunch fare.
I'm from the south and one thing I lament about the food scene in Seattle is the lack of good mexican food. I used to work across the Street from James Moore Bar and Kitchen and it quickly became a fixture for my lunch break. Their tacos are incredible. The verde enchiladas are probably my favorite, but really all the Mexican food is stellar (though I didn't love the carne asada). They also have really good beers on tap and very competent bartenders if cocktails are your thing.
The staff there is good, the food always tastes fresh. When I'm craving mexican I have no qualms about battling the downtown traffic from Greenwood and paying to park to enjoy a meal here. I highly recommend it!
Great provider. Nice environment. Delicious clean chips and salsa. Good drinks. Tacos have been tasty quite propose this region!
The Refried beans and rice are the best I've had in Seattle, which honestly is a desert when it comes to good Mexican food. These guys get it yet add some new and logical twists to the standard dishes without losing it's original character. A buddy had the carne asada steak which looked amazing despite my vegetarian diet of 35 years. I don't eat but I can sure appreciate it through sight and smell.
This is our go to place for Mexican food. It is clean, fresh, top quality ingredients, consistent and always just perfect. Great service, decent prices and food that makes our taste buds disco, will keep us coming back for more. A lot more!
Quite place near pike place. The food was surprisingly good. Unfortunately, they didn't have the falafel salad from the menu. Overall a good restaurant for your Mexican cravings.
Really surprising. The Moore has incredibly good Mexican food. The tortilla soup was actually spicy and the tacos al pastor had crispy delicious pork.
