Review Oriental Mart - Seattle

Was in from out of town with my girlfriend. I had seen a YouTube video on the place and trusted my instinct to make it a priority visit. I didn't order anything from the menu. I simply asked the amazing women who run this place to provide me with a meal of their choosing to share with my lady and a price they thought would be fair. I was treated to one of the most exceptional meals and experiences of any restaurant I've been to ANYWHERE in the world. Every bite satisfied. Every story they shared with us was wonderful. The food nearly made me cry with joy (which i was told WAS NOT ALLOWED) upon my first bites of the fried fish and fish soup we were served. This place will be mandatory on every return visit to Seattle moving forward. Thank you for cooking with such love. I could taste it in every bite.

The fried bangas fish was a must get. Smoked, fried, deboned, and fully edible including the fish head (although that was the saltiest part). The longanisa, aka Filipino chorizos, are also a must: sweet, salty, and tender on the inside. The sinigang fish soup was a sour but hearty salmon soup. The pork lumpia egg rolls were also fried just right, although they could be more hot. We'd skip the chicken adobo which was a lukewarm drumstick. Service was especially kind and patient, despite what all the funny signs might indicate. The atmosphere was fun and inviting.

TLDR: tasty and warming Filipino food, try before the crowds find this tasty spot! Good delicious Filipino food hidden at the bottom of the market but what a find! Friendly service with a huge plate of pansit, white rice, pork adobo that was delicious! Come get some before everyone else finds out about it!

Incredibly friendly staff and chefs, ridiculously delicious food and a great experience for the travelers to Seattle, you should not missed this spot. The special for today was fried chicken, & my GOD, that was one the best I’ve ever had, the Longaniza too. So thank you so much for being here, for preparing such delights and for treating me like one more of your friends!!

Tiny little restaurant with BOMB food. Honestly one of my favorite Filipino places to date. I had the pork stew and rice was perfectly cooked. Stew was rich, balanced by tomatoes and sweet peppers. Well balanced saltiness and very tender chunks of pork that was not over stewed. Definitely try this place out.

What a gem! This place, although you couldn't actually go inside the store, was wonderfully charming. We got 3 of the 5 things on the menu today, and all were delicious! The longonisa especially 😍 The two sisters running this joint are incredibly friendly, and everyone at the food service bar next to us were locals/had obviously been there many many times. I am definitely adding this place to the "must revisit" list!

07/16/2022: I have always wanted to visit this food stall ever since I read an article about it. When we got there, the counter was packed. We didn't know how to order so we asked a customer. We were directed to the front of the store where we could order and pay. My friend and I each ordered the fried bangus (milkfish) and salmon sinigang (soup) plate which comes with steamed rice and pancit. We also ordered 3 pieces of Shanghai lumpia. We were then directed to the back to find a seat. Since hubby ordered a poke bowl from the vendor across the walkway, we sat at their counter since it was empty. Our Filipino great arrived quickly. Our meals were served on melamine plates and bowls. The lumpia was skinny and long and served with sweet and sour dipping sauce. The fried bangus was crispy and truly delicious. The rice and pancit cut the richness of the fish. The salmon sinigang was simply divine. I loved the sour tamarind flavor and the fresh leafy veggies. The soup was made with salmon collar so that gave the fish a rich, melt-in-your-mouth texture. No wonder this dish is what they're known for. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. I wish I could have tried their adobo and other Filipino dishes. The food is cooked in true, traditional style. This place is a total gem in Pike Place Market. I look forward to returning someday.

Tia Leila and Tia Joy were super friendly and very charming, loved seeing them engage with all their regulars! The Pork Adobo was a little bit bland and not as tender as I've had other places, but the sambal and spicy vinegar made it all quite tasty!
