Review Pam's Kitchen - Seattle

My friend used to work here so I wanted to try it. The owner, Pam, was super nice and happy to chat when I got there (see our selfie). And the food!! I never had Caribbean before, but after this it is one of my favorite cuisines 🤩 I ate the jerk chicken sandwich on coconut fried bread, with cassava pone cake for dessert. The spices of the jerk chicken were incredible. It was not just "hot" spicy, but also warm like cinnamon and wonderfully rich. This was such a treat and I just hope more folks will come by to enjoy it 🤍

Authentic Caribbean food with really great service. We got the fresh Caribbean drinks coconut and rum based and really enjoyed it . We also got some entrees like sweet plantains, dal roti, jerk chicken and aloo patty. All of it were really good and was brought out fresh . Pam was really nice and warm to speak to . Highly recommend this place if you haven’t tried this cuisine and are open to try different flavors

Pam’s Kitchen is so iconically Caribbean from the food to the decor and the hospitality! Pam herself mentioned that the restaurant has made lists for one of the best Caribbean spots on the US! The staff are also so friendly, don’t be afraid to strike up a conversation on what their recommendations are. I haven’t adventured too much into Caribbean food because I usually end up sticking with jerk chicken, so hard to resist, but I was introduced to Pelau here and it was amazing! Everything that came out from the kitchen was delicious. I also always have to have at least 1 side of plantains when it comes to Caribbean food. Didn’t have drinks tonight but they did look very great, so an excuse to come back again! Once a month I believe they have live music and I think it would be so nice to experience that! The stage looks quite nice and fits so well with the restaurants flair, I’m sure it’s a great night out.

Pam's Kitchen is very dear to me. There are so few restaurants that serve Trinidadian food, and even fewer still that carry the variety of Trinidadian dishes that Pam's Kitchen has. We have a few restaurants in Metro Vancouver that serve Trinidadian food, and while they serve up some decent eats, they mostly just serve roti. I love that I can get so many other types of familiar Trinidadian dishes at Pam's Kitchen, in addition to the roti! Paratha Roti Pumpkin Choka Callaloo Sweet Fried Plantains Chicken Curry Roti Sorrel Last time we came to Pam's Kitchen was years ago. I don't think they had Pumpkin Choka on the menu at that time. That's a new addition to me. Whenever I used to travel to Trinidad, one of my favourite foods to eat was Eggplant Choka. I'd never even heard of Pumpkin Choka until now. My husband seemed to like this dish. For me it was just OK. I prefer the Eggplant Choka that I'm more familiar with. However, I am still happy to see any kind of Choka at all on the menu as I have not seen it anywhere within Metro Vancouver. My husband wasn't too crazy about the Callaloo; however, I actually loved the Callaloo. If I'd had more room in my tummy I would have loved to have ordered some rice to eat with the Callaloo as that was always my favourite way to eat it in Trinidad. The Paratha roti however was very nicely done and paired well with the Callaloo in place of the rice that I would usually have it with. There's no going wrong with Sorrel or Sweet Fried Plantains! For tasty Caribbean eats that will whisk you away to the twin islands of Trinidad & Tobago, look no further than Pam's Kitchen ! Service: Could have been better Parking: Paid parking on the street Location: 1715 N 45th St., Seattle

I was looking for a place that gave me good Caribbean food and a comfortable atmosphere. I discovered Pam's and the spacious atmosphere and reggae music draws you in once you step in. Once I finished I didn't want to leave once stuffed with food. So I just stayed a bit longer and ordered another drink. :) Pam the owner is very cool, and the staff was friendly. Definitely a "Shyi Recommend!! " if you in the neighborhood.

I've always heard when visiting a Caribbean restaurant to be warned as they often run out of food! LoL That was definitely the case with Pam's Kitchen. A bit disappointing to be a first time visitor and there is no wait staff to answer your questions. Everything was through an app...order, pay, tip. Food was delivered to your numbered table. Highlights of the evening were the live music and the food we ordered was tasteful. Each dish had it's own flavor. We tried just about everything (that was in stock). Definitely a go to. But go early to get what you want.

We just had a delightful meal at Pam’s. The Jerk chicken flaked off the bone with just the right amount of spice with a delicious coconut rice. Others had curry which were also savory and perfectly seasoned. We finished off with a cassava pone dessert which was subtly sweet and tasty. Pam came to introduce herself and shared her story about the best ingredients—heart and soul. Try it!!!

I’m Caribbean so this place feels like home. Everything is done is authentic West Indian fashion. Pam and Anton are amazing people too. Seattle needs exposure to this cuisine!

Pam is amazing and her curries are to die for. The cocktails are so good that with only one you will be happy the entire evening. The chicken curry was so delicious that I forgot to take a picture. The Trinidad Fruit Cake was exactly like my best friend’s mom’s cake! They take their time but it was a 100% worth it.

Found this spot by looking into dive, diners, and drive-ins. I saw Guy Fieri’s picture posted at the front door then I knew the food was going to be good. My instinct was right it did not disappoint! If you are looking for Caribbean food this is it! It has lots of seating definitely Caribbean Vibe with their music and art displayed. The food was amazing so flavorful, I was sweating! Loved the Roti bread and Jerk Chicken! And last but not least excellent service. Met the owner she was very down to earth and genuinely nice. Recommended for sure!!!

Great first experience at Pam’s! We had the aloo pie, jerk chicken sandwich, and pelau with cassava pone for dessert. Great flavors and we got to meet Pam. The pan band playing was an added bonus.

There is simply put: no place like Pam’s Kitchen. This is especially true if you are there for the first Saturday of each month when they host live music. The warmth of Pam and the entire staff, and the general atmosphere is reason enough to stop by. The lively, warm atmosphere is especially winning, coupled with excellent drinks, and knockout food. Whether you stop by and grab a table for food, or hangout at the bar; where you can be very charmed, it’s a great place to be. Get the Oxtail soup, Aloo pies, or any of their curry dishes. Drink a Mauby. Dance the night away on first Saturday’s. Pam’s Kitchen is an exceptional place, you should be there.

I have driven by this restaurant hundreds of times and never thought to stop by until yesterday. The service was great, along with the atmosphere. I ordered the veggie combo, fried plantains, and coco bread. The pumpkin dish was flavorful. I did not enjoy the callalo due to the okra, but the plantains and coco bread were amazing. I will definitely be back and recommend you give them a try!

So incredibly delicious. I had the lamb curry and it was marvelous. The bread was a little sweet and such a lovely light texture. The aloo pies were AMAZING — definitely get those and also try the delightfully spicy ginger beer. (The jerk chicken and ribs were tasty, too.) Service was incredibly friendly and patient (we were an unexpectedly large group), but it did take us a long time to get the check. That being said, I’d still go back in a heartbeat.
