I’m so glad my friends and I did a reservation on a Saturday because they were crowded. We checked in with them and got our table a few minutes after that. We ordered Seattle Benedict and French Toast. I think their foods are tasty, but they are quite expensive. Customer service is great. I would definitely recommend to people👍
Had a wonderful brunch. Delicious Bananas Fosters French Toast, Farmers Platter and Classic Breakfast Sandwich. Everything was delicious. Especially the french toast. Wonderful service. Highly recommend!
My friend and I decided to brunch at this spot, and we were in for a treat. My friend ordered the migas quesadilla, and it was so generous in portion size that we ended up taking some home. As for me, I opted for the oatmeal French toast, which was not only massive but also made from scrumptious challah bread. The highlight was the fruit bar, allowing us to customize our toppings just the way we liked.
It's no surprise that this Seattle brunch chain often has a line - the food is that good! A delightful brunch experience that's worth the wait.
Food was delicious. Had the mole verde burrito, which was huge. The French toast was also really good. Service was great, even when busy. We had a reservation, so didn’t wait. The kids meal prices are great and still had good portions.
I’m visiting from Minneapolis, and my dear friend highly recommended this spot!
I have high expectations for brunch, and Portage Bay exceeded them. Everything on the menu sounded delectable, and it was hard to land in one entree. I ended up going with the Seattle Benedict, which consisted of avocado, fresh crab, arugula, poached eggs, and hollandaise on an English muffin.
The crab was so tasty, and being from the Midwest, I really appreciated how fresh it was. The Benedict was hearty and satisfying, and the potatoes were excellent too. I enjoyed the coffee as well.
The service was friendly and attentive, and I loved sitting on their patio. It was a wonderful experience, and I would definitely go back.
My husband and I stopped here for breakfast on the recommendation of one of his coworkers before a busy day of sightseeing in Seattle. I ordered the Farmer's Hash Bowl, which was full of fresh veggies, eggs, pepper bacon, and mushrooms with whole wheat toast (it's homemade and AMAZING) and my husband had the migas which had very well-seasoned scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, housemade salsa, and cilantro-lime crema in a flour tortilla topped with guac and he ordered a salad as his side. It was all so delicious! We also ordered one of their pancakes to share and I can definitely say it is among the best pancakes I've ever had in my life - fluffy, tender, and it soaked up the butter and syrup beautifully and it was even better topped with whipped cream and berries from the breakfast bar! Our server was very friendly and attentive and we both agreed we'd happily return again in the future.
Fantastic brunch place in Seattle.
The line up wait time was reasonable. 15 mins wait on Saturday 11am
Our server, Erin, was super friendly and chill, introducing the dishes she recommends personally and giving detailed explanations on the dishes feature patiently.
We ordered the shrimp Benedict and lemon ricotta pancake, waited around 15-20 minutes for the fish to arrive
Food was prettttttt good.
Shrimp egg Benny: definitely well seasoned, the shirmp is on the spot, tender and bouncy texture. The sauce is at the right thickness too. Though the muffin was not the fluffy one that we were used to, it was pretty interesting too. (Almost tastes like raw sour dough)
Pancake was the besttttt, the buttery flavour and the light touch of lemon was purrrrrfect, plus the fruit bar was simply a fantastic idea.
2 people, after tax and tips, around $80. Reasonable pricing.
Love this place, and will definitely revisit again when we are coming to Seattle next time.
I came with a small group on a Sunday morning and I'm glad we made a reservation. The restaurant was packed, which contributed to quite a bit of background noise. The overall vibe was cute. The menu is very extensive and well priced for being local, organic, and sustainable. We ordered the bananas foster french toast, mole verde burrito, and rancher's breakfast-- none of them disappointed. The breakfast bar is also great and not something I've seen many places offer.
I was honestly a little disappointed - the place is great, and I enjoyed the staff, but I ordered a mother's day special lemon blueberry french toast and it was much heavier than I expected. And no discernable lemon or blueberry flavor to it, either. But the saving grace is the incredible fruit bar, so pile as much on as you can!
I also saw the swedish pancakes (crepes, really) and they were smaller than I expected. But I was sitting at the counter and could see the kitchen guys flipping pancakes, which I think would have much preferred. I'm not local, but I would definitely come back to try different things on the menu, I just think their version of french toast is not my preference.
Wonderful restaurant! I’ve been wanting to try this place for some time and we finally were able to. Upon entering, the staff was kind and told us to seat ourselves. We chose a booth next to pancakes bar. A waiter promptly came to us and provided drinks and answered questions. We are diary free (me) and GF and vegan (her) and this was very easy to accommodate for. I tried the ranchers plate with eggs, bacon, potatoes and a side of the amazing GF vegan banana pancakes oh wow! And she had the Buddha bowl with tofu, lentils and veggies! Food was delicious! Pancake toppings bar was fun. Service was good. We even tried a blueberry mimosa yum. Great atmosphere. We’ll be back!
There was a slight (50 minute) wait on the Morning of Memorial Day, no duh. But as always this place never disappoints. It's tried and true. Always worth the wait in literally every instance. After living in Seattle for 13 years and moving away, coming back to this place is just a slice of home. We sat at the bar (highly recommend that if you get the option too) so we got to watch the food prep during the craze and man the support staff and chefs there are incredible!
I always have to order weird things because of my allergies and they are always kind and respectful about it. So when I ordered the Farm Bowl with no egg, plus meat with gluten free bread they didn't even bat an eye (Bless you all). Everyone else in our party enjoyed to-the-last bite everything on their plates. Portage Bay is a must of you are in Seattle.
Absolutely AMAZING! I wish I could give it 10 stars.
Food was so delicious. My husband got the oatmeal french toast, which he said was absolutely amazing alongside his toppings from the fruit bar. He also got a side of sausage and a peach mimosa that he loved!
I got the Banana Foster french toast....I wish I could bathe in the caramel/rum sauce, it's that good. I also ordered a side of the breakfast potatoes and bacon. The bacon was pretty good and so were the potatoes, I just unfortunately do not like the seasoning put on the potatoes but that's my personal preference. I also got an apple mimosa that was delish!
The atmosphere is really nice but I'd absolutely recommend reserving a table beforehand. My husband did the smart move of that because once we arrived, we still waited about 10 minutes for a table past our reservation time but the line outside was insane and kept growing while we were eating - the wait time was over 45 minutes!
All in all, I'd highly recommend this place and will ABSOLUTELY be coming back to try out more of their dishes!
Oh man this place is great. We had such an amazing time. Might have something to do with the mimosas. Or the dhow we got to watch from the view of the kitchen we had. Or maybe the amazing food we ate. Or maybe it was our amazing servers. It's like some of the places I've been to just don't like their jobs and have no patience. This place is not one of those places. They will make you feel welcome and comfortable. Even their music had us feeling the vibe.
The food was even better than I expected and I came expecting good food. Probably the best breakfast I've had in a long time and I've had some really good food recently. Also the prices are very reasonable. The portions make sense here.
Lots of seating In here. I was seated at on of the bar counters. But I still felt like I had plenty of space. There was a line out the door so I'm just happy they were able to seat us within 10 minutes. Pure magic. I will be back very soon. This one's getting added to my collection. Oh. And they have vegan options.
The downside of this place is. Maybe the weird bathroom situation. Only one inside and the other you have to kind of find your way to and from. I got lost on the way back. I also blame that mimos for that.
Food was delicious. The French toast melts in your mouth. There's a berry bar where you can add fresh berries and fresh whipped cream to your pancakes/French toast. Genius idea. The biscuits & gravy were delicious. The biscuits were kind of like the Cheddar bay biscuits from red lobster.
We’ve been here perhaps 20 times and it’s long overdue for a review. I recommend reservations to ensure a quicker seating experience. There can be a pretty big line otherwise. Very kid friendly with high chairs, booster seats and crayons. The place is busy, especially on the weekends and can get a tad loud. Once seated, despite the crowd, the service is prompt and friendly. My kiddo especially loves Marin who has served us a bunch. The food is delish and we’ll seasoned. Portions are hearty. I particularly like a number of the special, one of which was the Cubano Benedict which I photographed here. And say they are in particular known for their different Benedicts and the berry and whip cream bar that you can go through if you order a sweet dish like pancakes or French toast. I recommend the farmers daughter for vegans and the Challah French toast as well.
This was recommended by a friend in the area to visit for breakfast or lunch. In our case we went for brunch, and I have to say the food was AMAZING!!! I can see why you have to wait for this place. Once we got inside, the service was great. We were served by 'Andrew S', and he was awesome!!! Really did a great job in looking after us. (He should get a raise).
The only downside was that if you don't pre-book your seat in advance, your gonna wait. We waited for nearly 50 minutes. So call and make a reservation in advance!!!
