Review The Other Coast Cafe - Seattle

I visited here while on vacation in Seattle and I definitely recommend this place for food in Ballard. The vegan Raging Cajun was absolutely delicious and hearty. It was the perfect hot sandwich on a chilly winter day.

This place is fiiiiiire. One of my favorite spots I've tried in Seattle. Got a recommendation from multiple people to go here when visiting Ballard and they were all on the money. The flavors were killer, the sandwich (Electric Wizard) was super filling and every bite was better than the last.

Other Coast is a sandwich shop right on Ballard Ave. Parking here is tough so you may have to walk a bit. They have a few seats inside plus a couple of tables outside in the front. The staff here are really nice, they run a tight shift in here pumping out sandwiches pretty quick. They have a good sized menu, prices aren't bad for the portion size you receive but they're packed with great flavor. Mantooth is good but you can't go wrong with any sandwich, really.

I was a huge fan of their lower Queen Anne location until it closed. Decided to try this one while I was at the Farmers Market a couple weeks ago. The good: the Electric Wizard sandwich was delicious and every bit as good as I remember it. Highly recommend this sandwich. It has a hint of smokey flavor. The sliced pork meat on it is to die for. Friendly service up front as well. Now the bad: you really need to order ahead and plan to pick up. I made the mistake of eyeballing the line and there was only one other person in line. "This should be a quick bite" I thought to myself as I got in line. Nope, 30 minutes later and still was waiting. There were hordes of Door Dash orders in front of mine which the customer would never know about judging from the short line at the register. Beware, they do not give in person customers any kind of preferential treatment in queue vs the Door Dash orders and so you may wait much longer than you anticipate.

Their Rajun Cajun sandwich is amazing! We always bring our friends and families visiting us from out of state and they love their sandwiches! Both outdoor and indoor seatings are available.

Great sandwich shop! We got the vegan version of the Raging Cajun and it was perfect! Nice gooey cheese and a good mound of meat on a toasted baguette, and all vegan. Overall, a great place for vegans and non-vegans, and I look forward to going again and trying a different sandwich. There is outside and indoor seating, though the indoor seating is a bit limited. You can also order takeout or delivery. We ordered at the counter and sat inside, and it took about 10-15 minutes for the sandwich to arrive.

Awesome sandwich shop with lots of vegan options or build your own. The Vegan Rajun Cajun (toasted field roast, vegan cheese, red onion, vegan chipotle Mayo) and Vegan Heaven (chickpea salad with Cajun seasoning, so good) are my two favorites.

My favorite sandwich place in Seattle. The vegetarian options are amazing, but there are more than enough for meat lovers, too. My only complaint is that they don't gave the fries that the old Queen Anne location had. Those fries were irreplaceable, and I think about them all the time. That doesn't stop me from coming here for the sandwiches, though. They're still worth the trip! 10/10

I always tell myself I will try something new, but default to my usual (Rajun Cajun) because it's just that good. I always request pickled red onions instead of regular red onions on my sammy because it gives it a little extra something, and it's SO GREAT. Their bacon is always on point, as well. Never had a bad meal here, and their bread stays perfect/doesn't fall apart or get soggy even after transporting home. Inside is very small and fills quickly, but there is outdoor seating, too. Price depends on if you're just getting an entree or an entree & side/drink. Just a sandwich will run you between $10-20 per person. Including a side & drink will run ~$20-25.

What can I say about this place. The food is amazing, the employees behind the counter work hard to produce high quality meals. I have never had a bad meal here. Try the jambalaya. You will not be disappointed.

Literally the best sandwich I've ever eaten in my entire life was the rajun Cajun. I've never talked about a sandwich like this before ever or ever craved a sandwich like I have with the rajun Cajun.

I got food poisoning. Avoid like the plague. Spent the rest of the day throwing up.

My favorite restaurant in Seattle! They're super friendly and have delicious and unique salads and sandwiches, that aren't trying too hard, unlike a lot of Seattle spots :-)

I came from Idaho to get a Please No Meat. I used to live near Ballard and ordered it all the time. When I purchased one today they heated all of the veggies along with the bread making for a gross soggy sandwich. It was the first time that has ever happened. My moms heated roast beef sandwich was also heated with all of the vegetables on it. Hoping it was an off day. 21$ thrown into a trash bin. Totally sad

I had walked by Other Coast a few times, normally remembering that I may have had a sandwich from there when I use to work in Ballard, but not being able to remember anything about it. So one day while I was on the way to a bar, I decided to give it a shot. I look at the large menu and saw the Rajun Cajun, and remember a coworker saying how it was their favorite. I went for the full monty and got the large, even though its a bit pricey. It was love at first bite. I normally only eat half and save the other half for dinner, or a surprise breakfast. Now I haven't had any of the other sandwiches, but that is because I love the Rajun Cajun. Undeniably so, I can never resit its sweet spicy temptation when I stop by. My love for this sandwich is so great, I would say I would probably even marry it, but who knows when people-sandwich relationships will be recognized, let alone legalized. But it would probably be interesting to see what ancient musings would be scrawled on home made signs for picketing the lewd layering dens of the US.

Got me a Ragin Cajun. Way good. Wish I had one right now. A deli is what it is. Good stuff.

Best sandwich I've had in my life!!! The rajun cajun is definitely a must try!

Heard their sandwiches were wonderful. But the service was awful. We walked in and my son needed some time to decide what he wanted. The guy at the counter lost his patience and let us know that they were closing in 5 minutes. After two minutes he told us it was 7pm and too late to order, but that he could do us a favor and ring up the root beer before he closed. I put the root beer on the counter and promptly left.

I have gone to Other Coast a couple of times a month since the place opened. Got the 'special' sandwich today, LOVE IT!! Please put this one on the menu, quite flavorful and spicy. :)
