as far as the patty itself - i thought the exterior was nice and cooked well. Unfortunately, I didn’t really feel any of the ‘spices’ that they claim to have marinated this in - there was a little bit of flavor but really just tasted like grilled chicken i could make at home. There was no spiciness to the patty at all. It was a bit too cooked too - i thought it could’ve been more juicy
I thought the buns were average - they didn’t seem to be toasted well if at all - and didn’t really have a crunch like you’d associate with a well toasted bun
The onions really came through in the burger - adding a really nice texture, and they combined with the pickles to replace some of the missing flavor from the patty
The cheese was above average as well
The good thing about the sauce was there was a lot of it. The bad thing is that it really didn’t add anything except being slightly sweet and softening up the burger buns a bit. A better sauce would’ve improved the buns a lot
Lastly, the Oreo Shake. I thought this was fantastic - there were clearly a ton of blended oreos in. It wasn’t as thick as I would’ve liked - felt more like a liquid - but you could really feel the oreo flavor with every sip. The best part was the end - when there were just a bunch of half-blended oreos sitting at the bottom and you had to eat them with a spoon because the straw wouldn’t suck them up
as far as portion size - i was pretty full after eating, but that might be more due to the shake than the burger. Probably a little overpriced. In my opinion, the grilled chicken burgers should be cheaper than the beef ones
overall: this was a solid option if you’re looking for a healthy burger, and had a decent but not special shake - so ill give it a 7.5/10
Seattle sports themed burger joint. Order at the counter when you come in.
Perfectly cooked burger sitting on a bed of fresh chopped lettuce. Burger was put together and wrapped with some amount of care and was not already a mess when I unwrapped it.
Fries did stand out. Hot and crispy to the point there was some crunch there.
Rain City Burgers is in the top league of the Seattle area's burger shops. They have a wide selection of burgers with vegan options and different meat and use high quality ingredients.
Some of their best burgers are the ones that are named after the Seattle's pro sports teams. My favorite is the Mariners burger with sliced Avocadoes and bacon on a Kaiser bun, that combination is pretty much perfect. The menu is still missing a Kraken burger, but who knows, they may have one planned ?
The one and only disadvantage is the location, they don't really have a parking lot and Roosevelt is very busy in this area, so be prepared to park a bit further away. A bit of a shame, because the place is pretty large inside and can seat a rather large amount of people.
Still, the burgers are great and just mentioning the name makes my mouth water for the Mariners burger.
These burgers are perfectly cooked and seasoned, and so reasonably priced! I love the flavor of the meat and the Rain City sauce.
The staff are friendly and accommodating if only a bit forgetful - I ordered mine with no onion, it was served to me stating no onion, and after the first bite I could very much see the onion. Thankfully I didn't bite into it and it was easy enough for me to remove and enjoy the rest of the burger.
This place sits on a great corner lot with large windows for lots of people watching
I really enjoy Rain City Burgers. Their burger menu is varied, so there are many options, allowing for a variety of tastes. The last time I visited, I also got a strawberry milkshake which was an absolute pleasure to drink.
They use good and fresh ingredients, and the sandwiches are definitely not skimpy.
It looks like they mostly do a lot of pickup orders and takeout, but there are tables and they will generally bring your order to your table. The staff is welcoming, friendly and courteous.
I have no hesitation in recommending Rain City to those around Roosevelt looking for a good burger.
Burgers and milk shakes were really good. My burger was just the right mixture of sauce and toppings. Everything was really fresh. We got onion rings (I felt they were over cooked), but everyone else in our group thought they were just right. Small dine in area that was clean and well kept. Bathrooms were clean.
The burgers and fries were great! Definitely worth it for the price. Lots of flavor and I was full. Lots of seating and the menu was huge.
Wonderful! Delicious! We were meeting friends here and when we first walked in I was a little scared because it really is a little hole in the wall, slightly dingy place—but the food was amazing. I got the bacon blue cheese and it was flavorful and well worth the calories. My husband got the Huskie and enjoyed that too. We split tots and a chocolate malt and those were both good too. Will be back!
Delicious chicken club sandwich. Highly recommend. Not too expensive for todays day and age, about 9 bucks for a burger. They get you with the sides and drinks but they’re good. Nice spot to eat and atmosphere. Near bus stops and light rail station.
Rain City Veggie burger was great, just satisfying and sloppy in all the right ways! The onion rings and fries were also both super crispy for a long while after we picked them up, and the hot sauce (more like a spicy mayo actually) was the perfect condiment for them. The 12th man burger was also very large and extra beefy. Definitely gonna try their milkshakes next time 🥛
Local authentic burger stop. Lots of choices for what you put in your burger, almost too many. The menu could get overwhelming. One suggestion is a make-it-your-own burger style of ordering which you can choose for example 3 from the list of ingredients to put on your burger instead of iterating all the choices and give them all different names that we have to click in each individual one to spot the difference.
The 12th Man burger is that classic bacon cheeseburger you’d expect from an awesome mom and pop place. My only complaint was that the bottom bun was too thick and a little undertoasted, but flipping the burger over fixed that. The Rain City sauce is not your typical “fry sauce” and has a nice smokey taste to it, pretty similar to Red Robin’s Campfire sauce. The place also has that homey collegetown burger stop vibe you’d expect in the U-District. Definitely will come back if I’m in the area. I'd suggest taking the bus or light rail here (it's a block away from Roosevelt station), otherwise, park under I-5 and walk a block.
super decent burgers at a fair price for the high quality. They're super quick whether I pre order or walk in & the staff is always very nice. The house sauce is good on everything
These are the best onion rings I've had in Seattle. Burgers were fantastic and service was quick and efficient. Would highly recommend the Mushroom Swiss Burger, Onion Rings, and Rain City Sauce (pictured).
Love the burgers and rain city sauce. But definitely on the busy side. Ordering ahead of time is clutch. My favorite is the mariner burger with bacon and avocado.
Solid burger, i ate this burger 3 hours after picking it up and it totally held up and tasted amazing. I had the Sounders Burger, i dont know who sounder was or what the deal is with the name but who’s ever idea was to put cream cheese and jalapeños on a burger is a genius, love the combo! I also had the onion rings, they were pretty plain, id skip those next time for some sweet potato fries. I also had a peanut butter and banana milkshake- perfecto
