A complete neighborhood gem hidden away serving amazing Italian food. While the food is second to none, there are several dining options available. You can dine inside in the elegant dining room, in the enclosed patio for outside dining on chilly days, or the beautiful backyard in the summer - all a wonderful experience. Put this restaurant on your "must dine at" locations!! You will not be disappointed!
Ristorante Picolinos is one of my all time favorite restaurants in Seattle, perhaps it is #1 for me. Wish I still lived in Sunset Hill, nice walk to the restaurant located at 32nd Ave NW & NW 65th Street. Just up the hill from Shilshole Marina.
Raphael was always good to us, the service here is excellent, the food is fabulous and authentic, so many great choices, i.e. fresh made pasta, wood fired pizza, ozzo bucco, herbed chicken, seafood pasta, crisp fresh salads; Oh, and the croissants, the croissants are the very best in town... seriously I have rated croissants in all of my stops, Ristorante Picolinos makes the very best croissants in Seattle! Crispy on the outside, smooth & silky soft on the inside! Just how we like it! Go there and get one, see for yourself, it is worth the trip. I might just go over there now and get a tasty buttery one and a delicous latte, they serve both and more at their inside cafe & bakery. So happy for you Ristorante Picolinos, love that you are expanding the back patio open area, it looks lovely. If I was still your neighbor, you would see me every day. Congrats!

Fantastic service and delicious food. The Dungeness Crab Ravioli were tasty pillows from the sea - an abundance of crab in homemade ravioli along with a cream sauce that was equally delicious.
Absolutely lovely evening on the back patio tonight with my colleagues.
Our favorite restaurant in Seattle hands down! We have been coming here in five years and they by far have the best food, friendliest staff, and most romantic ambiance of any place we've been to!

We love our experience always at picolinos. We have been going there for years. Michelle is always so amazing and professional, knowledgeable and always remembers our favorite meals/beverages. Thanks to Tom for hiring first class servers. We will always be patrons at our favorite neighborhood restaurant! Yvonne Svasand
Awesome authentic Italian meal! Loved it! I would recommend this restaurant.
Beautiful restaurant, perfect for a date night. The food was incredible! Highly recommend.
Decent place and the food is awesome. I had a romantic dinner with my queen.
The beat Italian in the Pacific Northwest !
Happy hour 7 days a week with excellent wine and food selections .
Tom and the staff always do an excellent job. Thanks again for finding us a table on Saturday! The food was excellent.
Beyond amazing staff and food!! So comfy and welcoming Can't wait to come back : )
Fantastic food and ambience! Definitely would come back again!
We enjoy the early morning freshly baked pastries with a perfect cup of espresso! Plan to return soon!!
It's just one of those places you try that is so great that you know you'll be coming here often. Incredible food. Ingredients used are unquestionably fresh. Great service. Great wait staff. Drinks were flawless.
I had the pork belly raviolis with a truffle infused cream sauce. Absolutely fantastic!
Old school fine Italian dining in a residential Ballard neighborhood. Rich, delicious, ample old world comfort food, white table cloths and old world wines. This has become an annual holiday event for our family.
Came back here again for the second time and the food was just as great as the first time!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this charming Italian restaurant and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. The staff was attentive, the food was reasonably priced.
The ambiance was simply enchanting – dim lighting, rustic decor, relaxing music, and the outdoor seating area was so pretty, the fire pit was a plus for chill nights! Everything was All soo very inviting!
All in all, this Italian restaurant is a gem. Whether you're looking for a romantic date night or a delightful meal with friends, the ambiance, food, and service combine to create an unforgettable dining adventure. I can't wait to return and savor those flavors once again!
We had a lovely time dining for dinner with friends. The full Christmas ambiance was in delivery with an accordion and opera tenor guest belting Italian songs from the antiroom in an adhoc performance. The osso bucco was fine. Tender and flavored throughout with comfort sides. The antipasta was delectable with cheese and meat offerings that salted the tongue and relaxed the gastronomical senses.
The ambiance was noisy in part due the lovely crowds that had reserved a table. Despite, we had an intimate gathering on a four top adorned with pine wreath and Santa and nutcracker totems.
If you love Italian this place is fantastic for satisfying your fix and adds a little extra to the dining experience.
Call out to our wait staff who kept our table clean and wine glasses full.
Caveat: most photos were taken after our dinner and the dining room had cleared out. One hour before it was packed.
We had an amazing birthday dinner there last night! We sampled a bunch of different delicious entrees, appetizers, and desserts. Their chicken pizza was amazing, as was the Caesar salad, burrata with fresh heirloom tomatoes, ravioli with brown butter & sage, the angel hair pasta, and the Chicken Milanese. Great service, nice atmosphere, with live music.
Our server Arlin was a gem. He gave a great wine pairing for our food and was super personable and experienced. The atmosphere was so cozy and intimate. There was a live violinist playing as well. Overall wonderful experience:)
My husband and I came here for a wedding dinner. It was our first time to try the Italian food here but we had high expectations as this restaurant is a highly rated on Google reviews.
We started with two appetizers. They seasonal salad of mixed greens and gamberoni alla griglia (shrimps) accompanied by freshly baked artisan bread. The dish of shrimps tasted great among the appetizers.
The main course included rigatoni bolognese and tagliatelle with cream sauce asparagus as well as grilled seasonal vegetables and veal. All of them tasted great. Only the texture of the rigatoni was a bit harder than expected.
The desserts were a variety of Italian or European sweets. We were too full that we tried a couple of them. We had to pack the rest home.
There is no parking at the restaurant. But there is street parking. The size of the restaurant was quite big. We couldn’t tell when looking at the exterior but once we got into the restaurant, it was like a corn maze that it had many rooms and a lot of space for many tables.
I personally loved everything here and would love to come back and try other dishes but the food might have a lot of sodium or MSG. I kept drinking water the whole night.
Wonderful Italian food and excellent ambiance! We loved the specials and really enjoyed being in the outdoor seating area. Service was perfect. Would recommend for getting your fix of delish Italian classics! The tomato sauce here is a highlight!
Had a holiday dinner with friends and the kids, 7 people total. Large restaurant divided down into lots of smaller dining areas with an eclectic ambiance. We all really enjoyed the spaces. Ours turned out to be a former outdoor space that was covered with a tent but comfortably warm and felt more indoors. Hard to describe but still very cozy, aside from paver flooring. The service was good and the food was very good. Parking is limited to street parking and we wound up a block away.
Tasty place for a bite to eat. Food is great and the atmosphere is really nice. However, our waiter kept reaching over/between us during our entire dinner service to light other candles with the one that was lit in the center of our table...a little distracting if you're trying to have a nice meal. I would recommend maybe getting a lighter or taking the candle to light elsewhere instead of reaching over guests to light other guests' candles. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this place.
Great service with an Italian flair, good variety on the menu, delicious food - what's not to like?
2023 update - delicious lobster ravioli and tiramisu misu. Great service. It was so busy on a Tuesday night that it was hard to talk and hear at the table, which is a good sign. 2 courses and wine for under $50 a person.
Made a birthday reservation for 8pm thinking they closed at 10pm. My mistake! At 9:20 I looked around and realized we were the last patrons. Staff was serving us as if tables were still being sat.
Food was great, staff is wonderful, wine selection was diverse and well priced.
Can’t wait to try the pastries & sandwiches for lunch.
Thank you for a much needed night out.
Picolinos is an authentic Italian restaurant that doesn't disappoint. I'd say this is in contention for the top Italian restaurant in Seattle and is great for date night or family gatherings. Street parking outside and tons of tables inside and out, it fits dozens and dozens of groups. It feels like the rooms just keep going, and the outside seating is nicely setup as well. The food is excellent, prices are a bit higher than other places but portion sizes are also a bit larger and the taste is where it should be. Service is great, staff are really nice and quick as well. This is a place to go to, and it's nestled in Sunset Hill so it's a good view after right down the road.
We dined here for a birthday celebration. The location is delightful with indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoors there are table side gas fire pits for warmth. The space is divided up into separate areas with curtains and dividers to provide privacy while dining. Live plants and vines are visible which add to the atmosphere and cushion the noise. Indoors the windows are opened to the street and live music is available.
I was told from my dinner companions the nightly ravioli special is a must. The specials including a delicious sea bass dish and the spaghetti with lamb meatballs on the main menu were also hits.
The before dinner cocktails were extra special also with a touch of glitter and the dessert menu also offers cocktails as an after dinner option.
We will definitely be back. Service is easy, quick to react or make suggestions, and professional. Your experience is their first concern from where they seat you, the height of the flame on your fire pit, to your dinner choice. Not pushy or complicated. Be sure to make a reservation and be prepared to walk a bit to/from your car since parking can be hard to find.
Four adults went there for dinner. The atmosphere here was very nice. Lovely decor and candle-lit table. We ordered the antipasto plate, which was a little small and didn’t come with cheese but was still tasty. I ordered the pork belly ravioli with truffle cream sauce. The ravioli pasta tasted quite fresh and it was a delicious filling meal overall. My wife got the morel mushroom tagliatelle which was good but didn’t include many mushrooms. Very cool experience overall
100% legit. I used to be a regular before moving out of Portland. Now I need to swing by every time I visit. The BBQ plates are superb, but the real action is on the sandwich menu where the good reverend burger and the fried chicken sando are among my favorite things to eat of all time.
The tap list is short but well curated, there are cider, wine and liquor options if that is your game and usually 2 frozen cocktails spinning. Staff stick around for a long time and are polite, knowledgeable and attentive as well as friendly.
Picolinos was, and still is, our favorite place for Italian, and the ambiance is unmatched, with the cozy outdoor dining so comforting. Friendly professional staff, and our own fire pit! Too dark for photos of our meals but the puttanesca and ravioli were perfect and nothing tops off an Italian meal like a nice glass of limoncello. Always a pleasure.
A very cozy Italian restaurant in a quite neighbourhood. I visited it multiple times (and did some free advertisement to my friends) and really impressed with taste, especially the pappardelle. The outdoor seating is like a dream garden, will definitely visit again when the summer arrives (hopefully soon).
One little complaint, desert options are limited and not quite impressive.
11/28/2020- Dining in the outdoor area all decorated for Christmas was nice. It ticked all my "a" words for dining out.
1. The atmosphere was pleasant, Christmas decor was very pretty and the music from the violin was nice.
2. Attentive staff with great attitudes.
3. All the food was appetizing and delicious.
