I was there with my girlfriend for my birthday and this was by far the best sushi we have ever had. The quality of the sushi was fantastic. There was multiple selections and each roll was slightly different. The flavors were perfectly paired and were just enough to give a unique flavor without masking the flavor of the fish. The ambience was great, and the Japanese garden at the center of the restaurant was beautiful. Our server was very knowledgeable and made our experience worth it. Definitely try the salmon sushi flight and the Geisha roll.
Great sushi spot. Delicious food and drinks, beautiful interior, great food portion (they don't skimp out on amount!) but it's also great quality. Also, our server Jennifer was great! Very attentive and on top of it!
Thank you to our server you were great! Food was excellent, atmosphere was cozy and upscale but relaxed. Wonderful experience! Very glad to have found this place.
This is easily the best sushi I have ever had. The menu is expansive, food quality is perfect and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Can't wait to visit again soon!
Fun atmosphere on Capitol Hill. Their food isn't pure Japanese. It's fusion. They use jalapeno pepper and other non traditional Japanese ingredients. I personally like their food. It's fresh and good quality.
The wrapped around court yard in the back of restaurant is cool. (Zen garden)
Hard to get in for Saturday prime times but not so bad on Sunday evenings.
They do sushi and everything else on their menu so well here! Excellent quality, fresh, artful presentation, and very good, low key service.
Excellent ambience, better service and a plethora of delicious sushi, both vegan and traditional. Be prepared to spend a bit more money on your meal than your run of the mill Sushi Restaurant. That said - it is totally worth it given the quality dining experience.
Fantastic dinner last night at Momiji Seattle. The best thing on the menu is the Spicy Tomato Sauce with Tofu. The sauce is to die for and should be put on almost anything you order at Momiji. The Casino Royale Roll was also excellent. Great decor. A fun place for a Chicagoan at which to dine.
Some of the best Japanese I’ve ever eaten. Fantastic!
Great meal and great service. The best sushi we've had in a long time.
My first time...went for happy hour. I had the veggie sushi, seaweed salad (yum) and my friend and I shared lychee and mango sorbet-super yum. Overall ....excellent food and service. We sat in the bar...noisy. Next time would make a reservation and sit in dining room.
We ordered several items...The Capital Hill, Tropical Paradise, Spider Roll, and Nigiri. All of it was fresh and delicious. The wait staff was very attentive, and the restaurant is beautiful. Great place!
Extremely delicious sushi including the deserts. The green tea tiramisu is a wow
What more can I say?! I am at Momiji at least twice a week! I AM OBSESSED!! Amazing sushi, and other delicious savory delights! To top off the amazing food the phenomenal service and perfect ambiance Momiji provides can never be recreated!! yum yum yum yum yum!
Amazingly yummy sushi. Spicy crab king soup was amazing to. Husband wanted to bring more home. Only issue our waitress was not so friendly. But overall amazing experience . All the way from Pasco WA. Read reviews only and had to try so thankful we did.
This place is awesome! Great service, atmosphere, food, and drinks. Good place for happy hour, date night, special occasions, and groups. Will definitely be back. I recommend the Hello Kitty cocktail! :)
Gets busy right away at opening (4pm). Great service, happy hour, and food, of course. お寿司と焼き物もかなり美味しいです!
Another great meal with lovely service. Last minute celebration for our daughter Aleks and they took great care of us.
The servers were friendly knowledgeable and helpful. food was pesented in style and in a timely manner we enjoyed our meal and though it was noisy we knew that was not the restaurant but happy people. A well deserved 5 from visiting New Yorkerd
Very popular place. I'm so glad we had reservations. The back dining area had a beautiful view of a small Japanese garden. Food was amazing. The server was knowledgeable and patient with our questions. Highly recommended! A+
Went here for company dinner and it was not bad. The tempura was as expected and we got the 4 person omakase which was huge. I enjoyed most of the different fish in the omakase. Can't speak on the pricing because the company paid for it anyway but 40 dollars for 1 person omakase is pretty standard pricing for this kind of place. A bit sad they didn't offer salmon otoro though. Not sure how their rolls are, my teammates ordered some but I didnt. The lemon drink I got was okay nothing special.
Very fun place! The food was majoritively very delicious. I highly recommend the MOONRAKER roll!
Omikase is worth trying as well, the sushi chef's are first class, let them shine and take on that experience.
The shirt ribs are very delicious.
The happy hour made the price lower than expected which was a huge plus to the delicious food. Try to get a table outside in the zen garden in between 3 glass walls!
Great food, good service, great experience
Although there maybe one or two other fantastic Japanese restaurants in the Seattle area, I consider this the best of the best! The fish are the freshest you can find and come direct from all around the world! The White Maguro (white tuna), OMG! It melts in your mouth with such beautiful presentation! YOU MUST TRY the chefs special - crunchy rice with spicy tuna! It was so good we ordered it three times! I took my wife for her birthday, who has never been, with our daughter visiting from Italy and her college roommate visiting from New Zealand - they couldn’t stop talking about how good the food was and both agreed it was the best they’ve ever had! The place is packed so a reservation is a must! Get there a little early as parking is street paid parking! If you love real authentic Japanese food - hot or cold - and you don’t come, absolute shame on you! You’ll thank me!!
Definitely coming back! The sushi was amazing and sashimi was wonderful. And the service that they provided was just perfect. We got the demon slayer roll and it was delicious! They also gave us miso soul ON THE HOUSE. Going at night was perfect their lighting was on and the wait was extremely fast even tho everything was so busy.
Our visit to this restaurant was a delightful experience. We indulged in their specialty rolls and refreshing drinks. The "Tokyo Girl" drink, infused with orange blossom, was a standout and thoroughly enjoyable. Among the three rolls we tried – "Mr. Perfect," "Geisha Roll," and "King of Fighters" – the latter two stole the show. The "King of Fighters" and "Mr. Perfect" rolls offered a captivating blend of flavors that I highly recommend trying. We sat in the garden and that added an extra layer of beauty to an already wonderful dining experience.
I was recommended Momiji from a close friend, and decided to go on a dinner date here. From the entrance to exit the experience was amazing. At what first seems like small sushi bar opens up into a lively restaurant with a tranquil courtyard garden. The atmosphere was beautiful, and the serving was great. The food though, was amazing. Easily some of the best sushi I have ever had. I believe we got the Capitol Hill roll and another special. The portions were very good. Two rolls were perfect for two people. The mochi was also really good. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the tempura vegetables, but besides that everything about momiji was stellar
We had to take out since there was no availability. They still have a very nice seating possibility in front of the restaurant to eat or wait for your order. Even though preparation seemed 40 min for my order, the host has been very helpful and we received the order in 20 min. Everything was tasty with high quality of ingredients. I wished we could have sit inside in the green patio area. Parking is extremely difficult since the area is busy. You need to consider to pay for parking.
Went for happy hour and ordered the garlic short ribs, salmon sashimi, and spider roll. Total was $35.
The ribs were, surprisingly, the highlight. The spider roll was the second best item we ordered. Sashimi was good, but not the best out there.
Ingredients taste fresh and like good quality. Definitely worth what you pay.
Service is on top. You are allocated only a specify amount of time for your table (1.5hr for party of 2), but it’s fair considering the food comes out quickly.
Lovely place! They have a nice inner patio with a small Japanese garden that they do utilize for seating, but it really adds another level to the atmosphere. We were there on a Saturday for our anniversary, so they were packed but it was still easy to talk to each other. The sushi rolls were delicious and the sushi was also very good. Would highly recommend!
Cocktails: I would give 10 stars if possible. The momiji sour was amazing.
Service: took a little to be greeted, but after the first visit our water glasses were never empty.
Food: sushi roll was solid (moonraker), recommend the mushroom/seaweed side, the greentea noodle dish was not impressive, the crunchy rice appetizer was good, but not great.
You can never go wrong with Momiji, this is my favorite sushi restaurant on the west coast, and everything on the menu is worth trying. If it’s a nice evening, ask the host if courtyard seating is available, it’s first come first serve for those seats…be sure to book a reservation though, it’s a popular spot!
Got the grilled garlic short ribs and the crunchy Seattle. They were good! The short ribs were extremely flavorful and a must have if you go. The crunchy Seattle (salmon, avacado & cream cheese) was good but there's likely better rolls that I'd try next time.
My friend invited me to Momiji for the first time during happy hour. I was a little worried because I’m not a big seafood fan and Japanese food tends to lean towards seafood, so we asked our awesome server Deen to surprise us with a different array of options for us to try. We tried the short ribs with a spicy salad, ginger chicken, the coziest pork soup and surprisingly enough the crispy rice tuna was my favorite….I didn’t even think I liked tuna until then. The drinks were delicious too. One of my favorite new places in Seattle, gotta bring my husband to try the sushi because it looked beautiful. Fantastic service, presentation and ambiance 10/10!
I've been wanting to go to this restaurant for a while, and it definitely was a great dining experience.
The espresso martini was quite good, nice chocolatey undertone, the sushi rolls came out quickly, and were quite flavorful and tasty.
I usually don't order nigiri, because most places the fish isn't quite good enough, but the salmon nigiri I got was quite phenomenal.
I also usually don't like poke bowls, but this one was incredibly good.
The service was great as well, our server was very friendly.
The atmosphere is beautiful. The service was warm and welcoming. The food was good. The sushi rolls we had were made with creative ingredients and came out just as they were described, but for some reason they didn't taste amazing. I will for sure go back and try their food again. The place is too special to not give it a second chance.
Very good food, good service. It was pretty busy and bit tight in there. But still a great stop in Seattle. The food was delicious! Our server was very friendly.
Great happy hour, with lots of tasty eats & drinks! Lots of natural light, portions were perfect, and the waitress was knowledgeable about the menu. Food was super fresh! Great date night spot, will be back!
