If I could give more than five stars I would. I had dinner with friends, to celebrate one of their birthdays and it was the most spectacular experience. Not only was the food phenomenal in taste and presentation but the staff was so attentive and made us feel so special, down to the purse holders that one of our attentive waiters magically pulled from his apron, to help us keep our purses off the floor but close by and accessible. The careful selection of food pairings, even those adjusted so those in our party that were gluten free didn't feel shortchanged in the experience, was magical in flavor. Napkins were refolded, if not exchanged for new ones, when a member of the table left left to use the restroom, and when it came time for dessert the staff made sure to present an extra dessert with a hand crafted white chocolate with a milk chocolate signature of happy birthday written on it. I highly recommend the wine pairing, which I shared with my husband. Not only was every pairing perfect but each bottle was presented with a story and history of its significance. This dinner experience was a gift for all of us on so many levels. I can't wait to pay it forward.

We finally got to try infamous Altura for birthday celebration. We wanted to find somewhere food will be as amazing as the bills 🤪 and Altura hit a home-run! We sat at the bar; they got hooks for your bags. Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, cute decor. Watching chefs work was so fascinating; their focus and precision. Every bite of the night’s course was beyond what I could describe. Fresh, delicate and delicious! Especially I was so surprised by their Heirloom Tomatoes! so simple and underwhelming at first, SO MUCH FLAVOR!!! Their balance pairing had so many interesting non-alcoholic cocktails we loved! Cant wait to go back!!

I had the lucky experience to sit at the counter for dinner. I was able to watch the chefs prepare each meal. The decor blended well with the light and restaurant.
Several times through the night, I visited the bathroom, and each time, the staff were vigilant to ensure we dont bump into them. The staff were very friendly and fun to talk to. Some even played along with my jokes.
The chefs were very focused on creating their dishes. Despite this, they enthusiastically answered any questions I had about the meal. I learned a lot about the preparation. As a chef myself, I can see the passion they had for the food they served.
The food was immaculate. Each bite made me wish for more. In total, about 7 courses, but some courses were split up into multiple pieces. In the beginning, the appetizers consisted of local seasonal cuisine to seattle as well as local seafood. The plated items captured the diverse agriculture of seattle.
Overall the experience was amazing ans i cant wait to come back one day for their delicious food.

I'm too lazy to describe how awesome my experience at Altura was (too many things).TLDR: Altura was the best restaurant that I have ever had (not one of the best, but THE BEST, #1). Thank you so much , Altura team!
There are many restaurants in Seattle that I would like to try but Altura will always be the one that I MUST DEFINITELY come back whenever I visit Seattle.

Recently came here for my birthday dinner, which my wife booked (lucky me!).
I am not a "fine dining" type of guy, as it more often than not leaves me befuddled as to portion size to dollar ratio - i.e. pay a lot...for tiny morsels of food...which doesn't even taste that special.
BUT, Altura completely blew me away and is easily now one of my (and my wife's) favourite restaurants.
Course meal started off with an amuse-bouche of oysters and caviar. I was thinking here we go again - tiny food, big price, relying on fancy presentation. It was pretty good, but honestly I don't really remember it standing out (maybe because the rest of the meal was so incredible).
Next was the stuzzichini with eel and beef tartar. It was also pretty good (really good) and now my interest was piqued (or maybe I was just getting hungry).
Next was the tomato dish, sliced beef tongue and frozen pepper thingy. This is when Altura turned the tables and punched me in the face with a flavour explosion! I have never tasted anything like this. Even the tiny pieces of basil were incredibly fresh. 10/10 for this dish. I was now really getting into the course meal experience at Altura.
Next was the noodle pasta with anchovy flakes. Probably my wife's favourite meal of the night. Cooked and seasoned perfectly. I could have eaten a whole trough of this. 10/10.
Next was ANOTHER pasta dish (bonus points as I was starting to feel like I was getting my money's worth of food). This time with black truffles and other local ingredients. Excellent but heavy, which made me slightly prefer the preceding noodle dish.
Then there was an intermission of the best type - sorbet! Probably the last thing my low-brow taste would think of eating MID-MEAL, but it absolutely worked and cleansed my palate.
Next were the big guns - pork and wagyu beef, the later being an add-on at $25/oz (min 2 oz order). The wagyu was pricey, but wow, the only way to describe it was like I was eating a beef flavoured Fruit Gusher - the moment you bite into it, it explodes and melts in your mouth with savoury/fat/bbq/salt flavour.
At this point I was absolutely stuffed (maybe the first time I can ever say that at a fine dining restaurant). Desert came out which was some kind of ice cream thing. Pretty good, but honestly I was so full that I couldn't even remember what it was. At this point, I even told my wife that I was glad that it wasn't a chocolate dessert (my favourite) because I was too full.
Next came ANOTHER dessert which was affogato and chocolate. Although I just said a moment ago that I didn't have room for chocolate, I devoured this thing! Absolutely incredible way to end the meal.
If I had to nitpick (there isn't much), the red wine (by the glass) wasn't the greatest, but maybe that's just preference as I like more full-bodied reds. The restaurant decor is "interesting" (stuffed owl...really?). And this place is pricey (but you probably knew that).
To conclude, the service was impeccable, most of the dishes were truly mind-blowing and I've never tasted anything like it anywhere else. This is a special restaurant for special occasions. Without hesitation, my wife and I said we would be back in a heartbeat, which I think is the true test of how good a restaurant is.

Best meal I’ve had in Seattle! Better than Canlis without the stuff and fuss.
Great service. Great drinks. Great food. Highly recommend.

We went here for the elusive tasting menu and it was worth every penny and the wait! The staff are amazing and the chefs are incredibly precise and take great care with the food. Meemee, John, and Alejandro were a joy to interact with, their knowledge of not only the menu but the drink complements and the origins of the wines was informative and comprehensive. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a great experience, just make sure to set aside 3hrs to properly enjoy it.

Fantastic experience! Chef Nathan was amazing to watch and speak with! His knowledge about food and how it is prepared was awesome to listen to. I highly recommended sitting up at the high counter to watch them cook and plate food. All of the Chefs seem to enjoy working a cooking as a team! I will definitely be back to try this place again!

I must say, the overall experience was beyond phenomenal! Staff, chefs, everybody was amazingly respectful and knowledgeable of what they’re doing and serving. Atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, mellow, nice jams, and the lighting is just right.
We don’t eat chef’s menu often and as an avid foodie, I must say the food was BOMB! To be honest, I wasn’t sure what we were eating half the time but it was one of the best foods we ate. The waiters/waitresses would explain to us what was being served and typical me, don’t listen and just want to dive right in. The whole experience from beginning to end was about three hours as stated on their website. We sat at the chefs table, where we can see the chefs make the amazing goodness before our eyes. You can conversation with the chefs, ask questions and so on. They are respectful and knowledgeable in their craft. I can’t say it enough the food and overall experience was top notch.
Reservations. Yes, Altura only accepts reservations, no walk ins (maybe if you’re lucky). Parking is troublesome but there are some parking lots around the area.

Enjoyed an incredible meal here from start to finish with perfectly paired wines. The menu is fun and delicious. The black cod with caviar course was one of many favorites, as was the duck course. Highly recommend sitting at the counter to watch the chefs in action. Like theater watching them cook and plate each dish. Deeply satisfying. Highly recommend Altura if you appreciate great food served in a warm and comfortable dining room. Can’t wait to come back on our next visit. 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

I was brought here by a family member and I had no clue what I was walking into or what we would be eating. I'm a huge foodie and love to try new fun things and have a very open tasteful palate. I was amazed with every pairing of food and wine and the incredible knowledge of the house sommelier. I would definitely go back and try it again with a different menu it was a memorable experience and super fun to be blown away by each dish. Definitely Michelin star or James Beard worthy. I highly recommend Altura for a fun and unique fine dining experience you'll never forget

This is my first chef’s tasting experience for Italian restaurant and it’s just perfect!!! Every course is full of surprise and richness in flavors. The freshness of ingredients, cooking skills, and seasoning and presentation are all combined together and gives such a wonderful experience. All the seafood and meat and vegetables are perfectly seasoned for me, and the only dishes that I don’t like are sorbet with some herbs or fermented grape which are quite strong taste… It is roughly 3 hours but feels really really satisfied like watching a chef show. Strong recommend!

This was a YOLO meal, must try! On the $$$$ side but worth every dollar 💵! Mostly locally fare, beautiful presentations, chef Nathan and his kitchen crew WOW are such pros! We sat at the counter and watched them prepare the food and that brings a certain level of appreciation to each plate. The duck was a big highlight for us, aged smoked, perfectly simple seasoned and an intricate preparation for a few bites of a heavenly bird! All the edible flowers for each plate was such a nice touch, pasta dishes all made from scratch. The starters were delicate and divine! Multiple desserts also was such a sweet surprise for the finale! They also offer a Japanese wagu beef for $50 per oz but I thought the duck was much better! Chef Nathan is an all star gifted chef 👨🍳!!

This was the best dining experience I’ve ever had in Seattle. The vibe of the restaurant is very lively and relaxing. I read the sample menu before I came here but was still amazed by each dish. The level of attention to details is just phenomenal. I sat at the counter and this allowed us to see how the chefs prepared each creative, delicate and delicious dish. Absolutely love it!!

What an amazing evening! Such an explosion of unique flavors, one after the other, over the course of the night. The Halibut was absolute perfection. Highly recommend sitting at the chef’s counter to see true artistry on display! Will definitely return! Worth every penny.

Luxurious and exquisite Italian dining experience that's perfect for the special day. Reservation only. Each course is as beautiful as artwork, and service is great. The server would tell you ingredients in every dish and customize for you if any allergy condition. Each food bite is very experimental and unique, I've tasted some good combinations and also some not so agreeing. But as a fair note, it's not a bad experience overall. Price is really high though, i would give a $$$$$$ rating on Google review if I can.

Love pretty much all the dishes on the chef's menu. The restaurant collects food restrictions/event survey days ahead, so that's the perfect time to provide info about allergy and less preferred ingredients, also let them know if that's for some special occasion so they may do some small nice decor on your plate.
It was fun to watch how chefs prepared
those gorgeous plates. Each dish is literally a piece of art. Other than the price $$$$, everything is perfect

This was one of my favorite dining experiences in terms of food offered. Everything was well thought and balanced in its flavors with the price point being at a good place.
We were wait listed for reservations and managed to get in on the last day of our trip.
They have a zero proof cocktail menu along with a drink pairing to go with the menu. I'm allergic to alcohol so I'm always intrigued.
My friend got the wine pairing.
Ultimately he thought my pairing was more interesting.
I would happily return to this restaurant.
We did not park here since we ubered, but there was some street parking. Directly in front of the restaurant is a drop off point.
