Update July 2023 Still excellent high-end Deli. After hike today we had to swing in for a Sandwich - the Reuben - soooo good! Took some (uncooked) meats home for later. Very nice young man at the counter as well. We have never been disappointed with a sandwich from The Meatery! ------- Excellent Deli sandwiches by nice folks working Feb 27 2021. Everyone masked, gloved, and good space to social distance wait in line. Good sized, good tasting and reasonably priced - for what you get - sandwiches to go. We bought 2 and shared. The Cali (meat & peppers) and the PoBoy (tangy deli). Very different tastes and both really good. We also tried their Saturday special (sold by lb.) for dinner - which was smoked brisket (sides choice was mac-n-cheese and mashed cheesy potatoes). Plus we got some deli meat to go with the fresh bread from our local bakery for another day. Good thing we have nice weather because YES long walks are required after all that delicious - DELIcious - food. Will return, will recommend. I love this place. What a high quality meat selection. When ever I have a special order I can turn to Todd and team to get it filled. Over the last year I have ordered a full lamb (cleaned), a full pig (cleaned) and the largest beef ribs you have ever seen. All of them turned out to be fantastic. The meatery crew fulfilled the orders on time and fantastic quality. When ever I have a big BBQ planned this is my go to spot.

First thing that hits you when you walk into this Butcher Shop is the FABULOUS, delicious smell that lingers in the air. I didn't realize they also sell sandwiches which was just and EXTRA bonus. There's so much to choose from Waygu, lamb, sausages all looked and sounded AMAZING, quail, brisket, Buffalo and MORE! We bought sausage with fermented black garlic, and another sausage with spinach and feta and had to get the Kielbasa sausage. The brisket was already cooked and we bought over a pound to heat up for dinner. Service was SUPER friendly and there seemed to be a lot of regulars that had stopped in grab to what they needed. They also carry Baker's Bacon from Marina which I'm excited to try! Their fresh dog food also seemed popular! So of you're looking for a great local Butcher Shop you definitely need to stop by in Seaside and try The Meatery. Theur sandwiches so sounded AMAZING!

Best sandwiches in town. I had the brisket sandwich and am going back to try more soon. Also great cake. Best lunch spot I know of in the Monterey region right now. I knew there had to be a top notch sandwich place around and glad I found it. Also have a top tier selection of meat and other groceries.

Chef Todd is the bomb!!! I know his food for years going back to before Tarpy's and years at Pebble Beach Food & Wine...the man knows his meat! The brisket is incredible. So tender, juicy, smoky, with a nice fat back that melts in your mouth. Just amazing straight up with his special tangy barbecue sauce. The Goomba Italian sandwich was fantastic with fancy cuts of Italian deli meat on a soft Palermo roll! The rib was also amazing! Huge, smoky, falling off the bone and delicious! The fries are killer, too, with a great spicy sweet seasoning. The chicken sandwich with the pickled onion is awesome! As for sides, the potato salad is okay. The mac and cheese is better. The slaw looks good but the stars of the show are the various meats. Definitely go there and grab a very satisfying meal...it's a local's favorite! I'll get pictures next time.....

What an amazing place for prepared food, fresh meat, and even great wine/beer. The owners are friendly and helpful; they are clearly passionate about good food! We had the brisket sandwich, Bahn mi sandwich, and macaroni & cheese. Everything was delicious, with a generous amount of meat on the sandwiches, and pieces of bacon in the mac & cheese. We plan on going back often to try more items on the menu, and purchase steaks for the grill.

Never been there before, was looking for a place for a sandwich, And Google showed me this place. Excellent Reuben sandwich and I never had macaroni salad like that before, it was delicious. I recommend The Meatery to anyone looking for a very good sandwich. Plus I also saw Tomahawk ribeye steaks hanging in the back. I will be back.

I would absolutely recommend! I came here for some sandwiches: Italian Po boy, Bahn mi (pork belly), and the Sunday special (tritip sandwich.) These sandwiches were amazing and have the most flavorful meat, complimented with the perfect toppings and very fresh bread. The workers were very kind and had all the Covid precautions perfectly in place. They happened to be relaunching the muffuletta back onto their menu and even threw one in on the house. Taste is amazing! I can tell why customers were begging for this to come back on the menu. They have just about everything you could want for a nice picnic or stellar charcuterie board. I also got a variety of drinks, house made ‘njdua (for a pizza night), one of their several fermented hot sauces (Serrano pepper), and some puppy treats! I would absolutely come back for more flavor adventures, added some pictures of the specials, experiences and kits. Overall, you can tell the heart and soul is in the business and absolutely shines through the aesthetic of the space and quality of product offered!
