Very inefficient (slow), as the line was very long and each customer took a long time to be served, but partly because the customer couldn't decide what to have. Staff were friendly and helpful, and gave a few tester scoops when asked. They have gluten free cones, yay! Ice cream was tasty. They have a labeling system for flavours with egg, gluten and nuts, but you can't see any flavours until it's your turn, because the lineup of people is in front of you. I would come back. I would suggest to come during off peak times or when there's no line.
We have a store in Vancouver that has a token system, where there is a cashier at the front, you pay for whatever you want from the menu, then you can browse the store, ask and taste test and when you're ready, give the token to the next available employee for your order. I think this may help speed things up here. We saw lots of families/groups do multiple orders at once which took a long time.

This place says they are the best! We were here on the weekend and there was a line. The line wasn't long but the wait was about 15-20 minutes. There was one and half people behind the counter and I learned what was taking so long. you can get samples. Some folks were literally tasting all the flavors. I couldn't be mad at them. Free is always nice. One person was scooping and taking payment and the other person was walking to the counter and to the back room doing I don't know what. By the time it was our turn another person came out the back with some fresh gelato flavors. The 2 flavors I tasted were so good! Very flavorful. If I didn't know what the flavor was I could close my eyes and make a correct guess. This place does live up to the hype and is worth the wait. 5 stars.

I really wanted to try this place because of all the reviews and honestly I think the service may have influenced me. The line was incredibly long because it too forever for the staff to attend to each group, there were 4 staff in the store the night I went but it only seemed like 1 was serving customers. They had a lot of flavors though and were staying open far past their stated 10pm time to account for the long line still outside. I thought the gelato was fine, but not the best I've ever had so I was a bit disappointed.

Was wondering why the line was so long so decided to wait and try it out. Turns out, I definitely understood the hype. They had so many unique flavors, I can't even remember most of them. I ended up getting the Coffee Toffee and Pumpkin Chai and was not disappointed. They have diary free options which I'm sure most will appreciate. Overall 10/10

There are a number of places to get ice cream in Seaside. This place has a sign saying it’s the best and the line outside proves it. Sea Star features a wide array of gelato flavors ranging from fruity to chocolate. Anyone should be able to find something they like. The double is pretty big and could be split among two people. We ended up waiting about 40 minutes. The line moves slowly since you can sample flavors when it’s your turn. If you don’t mind waiting, this is the place to go in Seaside.

It's super good! They have a great variety of ice cream flavors that were really delicious and worth the wait. I got lemon and eggnog, while my mom got raspberry and chocolate. We absolutely loved them! Only suggestion is to have the current flavors displayed somewhere else, not just in the bins. When there's a long line, you don't have time to see what they have before they ask you what you want. If they had it set up so people could check beforehand, they could speed up the line. Other than that, they had tons of unique flavors, but no plain vanilla or chocolate.

We all liked the gelato here. Portion size is huge. Red velvet was not very great but loved cookies & cream & also pumpkin spice.

Amazing gelato! Had gluten free cones available, although they were Joy brand (and not homemade), still very much enjoyed being able to get a cone! Parking available nearby. Line was forming outside the store while I was there, but the staff was very efficient. Highly recommend!

This cute gelato shop is a great spot to get a frozen treat even if you are dairy and/or gluten free. They always have gluten free cones and several dairy free sorbetto options though the flavors do rotate. Have tried the DF Pink Guava, DF Lemon, and DF Lava Flow. This is an extremely popular place so expect a long line on nice/busy days. No matter how busy, the staff is always friendly.

Seaside, Oregon is a classic beach town, chock full of tourists this time of year. But there was gelato, so that balanced the scales. For the record, I chose charcoal (honeyed sweet cream with activated charcoal) and sea salt caramel. Yes, it's among the best I've ever had.
