I attended my best friends parents 50th anniversary there a few weeks ago and I was beyond impressed. The opening h'orderves were to die for and the entree was so delicious that I have no words to describe the quality in taste. The service, food, and atmosphere was perfect. I highly recommend Tavern 227 to all!
We had a private party here arranged by my son for a special anniversary and everything was outstanding from the moment we arrived. The long vintage bar lit up by candlelight was welcoming! Plates of outstanding appetizers were laid out ready for us to help ourselves. The attractive atmosphere of the room and the efficient and friendly service at the bar and by the waiter, made for a lively cocktail hour. The chef obviously put a lot of care into the choice of entrees which were all delicious! I knew as soon as I had the salad that the rest of the food would be prepared with as much care. We could not have had a more perfect evening!!.

I am here at least once a week especially for their Pasta Tuesdays (half off pasta)! The menu is quite small at the same time, they have different specials each week. The Special Veal Appetizer they had was exquisite as well as the Spaghetti Carbonara. Meatballs and Arancini are pretty decent, and the Eggplant Parmigiana is delightful.
Although this is one of my favorite places to eat in the area, I do wish they had some more authentic Italian options.
Each drink is made to perfection, my go to would be the espresso martini!
The staff is knowledgeable and accommodating always have their best face on with great spirit!
The prices are pretty high up there so dont come with a cheap mindset! I would also advise that if you are going on a weekend to make a reservation as they do fill up fairly quickly.

Spinach goat cheese salad was spot on and prepared healthy, Eggplant parm was spot on, and pastas had a ton of flavor! Exceptional restaurant.
My favorite restaurant on Long Island!! Everything is perfect. The atmosphere is so warm and cozy. Reminds me of living in Brooklyn. I bring all my friends and visitors here.

Went on Saturday. All around amazing. Matt was great and his drinks were some of the best I've ever had! Host was awesome and the waitstaff was great. The Rice balls are absolutely the best I've ever tasted. The meatballs and buratta were great. Overall, an amazing time and well worth it. See you soon.
Such a beautiful restaurant and an awesome vibe. The food is great too, the black ink linguini and meatballs were unreal. Loved the pear cactus margarita too!

saturday night dinner. good lively vibe if the music was a bit loud. feels casual enough to work as a bar simply for drinks with friends, but the food is decidedly elevated. turns out the chef worked at babbo/lupa - and you can sure tell it based on the execution of his pastas. amatriciana was the highlight. will definitely be back.
First time to this great little gem on the main drag in Sea Cliff. Wonderful staff all around. Phoebe took great care of getting us a great table and the servers are terrific. The menu is innovative and the food is very good and fresh. Clean delicious flavors. The crostini trio and little crispy cheesy rice cakes were our selections for apps and excellent. I had their signature salad and it was great. The eggplant parm looked really good and it was being served all around us. Look forward to my next time there.
My husband and I ate here last night. We loved it. The atmosphere was so inviting. We sat at the bar and decided to have dinner there. Delicious! Will eat there again.
First time there for private gathering. Of course, a bit different than typical sit-down. However, the service and food was top shelf. They started with a cold platter of meat and cheese. Then, the beef sliders arrived along with ribs and meat balls marinara. Shortly after they had a table with sliced steak, Papardelle pasta, chicken rolls and chicken franchise. I tried everything except the ribs and franchise. All was excellent. If this experience is anything like a typical day there you will not be disappointed. The place is vintage, bar one side, tables on the other. It's cozy but that adds to the charm. I cannot comment on price because we did not order from the menu.
Amazing Italian food in an intimate setting. Bar was lively and the owner/bartender/servers were the best. Highly recommended!!!!
