Review The Pita House - Scottsdale

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a Mediterranean restaurant near my home. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the wait staff is very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious! I had the hummus, eggplant, and couscous plate and it was so flavorful and fresh. Every bite was a delight! The portions were generous and I was able to take leftovers home. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a delicious and affordable Mediterranean experience.

I had a great meal at Pita House! Firstly, I had some dietary requirements that were not on their menu. However, they quickly adjusted the ingredients to accommodate those needs. The wait staff was awesome too. I really enjoyed talking with them.

Great food especially the garlic dip. Friendly staff and good hookahs.

this is my favorite hookah place in town, i come to this place regularly and I order a Lemon mint hookah, free WiFi and the best partying on the weekend with, in my opinion, best DJ in AZ, every weekend, he plays all kind of music which I really enjoy. Their food is deish!! best hommus and tabbouleh Ive had in the US, I definitely recommend this place

Small family run place with great food. Twin boys working when we went. They were cute! One a bit more socially inclined than the other but both were great kids and did a good job.

It is a quirky little hole in the wall, but clean and the employees could not be nicer. They want to satisfy the customer. Food is good, but not fabulous. Prices are reasonable. Bare bones sort if place, small, only a couple of tables. Very friendly.

Amazing experience - the store is under construction and the staff was very kind and attentive and at my ready. Greatly appreciate the service along with phenomonal food

Very good authentic food. Read all the 1's, most are 2 or more yrs old. I used to work across the street and frequented this place for lunch. Service isn't stellar, but it was fine. Hookah smoking happens in the lounge while you are eating, so sit outside in the cooler months for dinner. I will eat here over most any fancier or chain type places, unless I am looking for a high end meal.

They got the best food on the block. Outdoor dining. #1 Beef Shwarma spot in the country 5 years in a row

I've really never seen a place with such good service. Everything from the time to prepare the hookah to getting us a shesh besh game. Hookah was only $10 and drinks were cheap too. Really enjoyed spending time at this joint and will definitely return next time I'm in town.

The management must have listened to previous concerns about service, because the service I received was fantastic. In addition, the food I received absolutely amazing, with very generous appetizers to start the meal. Best of all, the food is very cheap, so you can eat at Old Town Scottsdale without having to pay the prices you would elsewhere

Really great little spot. The service was good. Mostly younger staff. Judging by the accent I assume its family members. They tried hard and the food was delicious. The atmosphere is light and there is plenty of crowd watching to do. I give it a "must try".

The food was delicious and the service is really great. We were accommodated with a few different requests with no hesitation! Really not sure why the bad reviews but I'm guessing it's because of the basic decor. We really enjoyed our meal!!

DO NOT GO HERE. I have never felt the need to write a Facebook review about somewhere until now. Over the past 4 years my friends and I have continued to give this place business, each time contemplating whether or not to return. After last night I can confidently say that I will never return to this restaurant nor let any of my friends or family. We were treated with such disrespect and were deliberately ignored. We did not receive any service unless we stood up and went to them. When my friend tried to call someone over to help us the waiter stared at him and yelled "what's up" with such hostility then walked away while he was mid sentence trying to order. To top it off, when we confronted them about the problems on our bill and being improperly charged, they did not realize that I could UNDERSTAND what they were saying about is in their dialect of Arabic. Absolutely astounded and disgusted. Wish I could give this place 0 stars. Will be reporting this establishment further.

Wish it was 0 stars. Overcharged our group and am going to dispute the charges. We had no waiters we had to go get everything ourselves and still included the gratuity in the check. There are a lot better places to go in Old Town not worth going to. I will be reporting.

Don't go Here... The pita bread was stale, iceberg lettuce for the salad and not much else, the gyro had no flavor and everything seemed dry. Cold tortillas would have been better pita... Also the humus tasted almost rancid. I'll be sticking to pita jungle at the mall!

Half the portions of Haji Baba, twice the price. If you don't know what haji baba is then you will probably really like this place.

Coldest Beer Yet in AZ. Stopped in Pita House, 1st Ave, Old Scottsdale/Tourist Trap District, for a beer and some beanie snacks on pita. Sat in "patio," aka alley with crumb-topped tables. Misters added a welcomed atmospheric anomaly to the shaded area. Had to buttonhole one of the two houkah handlers to ask for a server, who appeared several minutes later, a friendly and attentive Hispanic young lady. The beer (Brenda had Corona Light and I had Dos Equiis) was so cold it had frost on the outside of the bottles and ice crystals floating in the neck! Aaaaahhhhh. Falafal was over-cooked, babaghanouj was bland but tasted okay. Would've been better with some zatar or some sort of masala powder ... something. "Cucumbers" turned out to be nasty, pickled cuke chips. Onions should've been Burmudas, but where mild whites. Olives were delicious little black, salt cured Med. type. Pita bread was very good. Houkah handlers catered to their Arabic student buddies and the young Hispanic chicas, and we were never offered a bowl even though everyone else in the patio was smoking houkahs (everyone else was either young Arab dudes on Apple laptops, or really cute Valley chicas). If you go, order lots of beer, limit your food orders, and demand a houkah. Nice shady rest stop in an otherwise touristy district with grossly over-priced junk stores. If I lived in Scottsdale area, I would pack some lime wedges, hot sauce, cilantro, garum masala, and a few other condiments, and a pack of Handi-Wipes when visiting Pita House. Hey, guys, it's the little things that matter.

Really...really bad.. The location is great.... other than that everything was terrible (most notably, the service). after we were seated, it took a good twenty minutes before the waitress came to take our order. she brought me lukewarm tap water in a dirty glass and (only after I asked) explained that the ice machine was broken and walked off before i could say another word. when she finally did come back, i ordered a bottled water instead which was way over priced. the food was cold, bland and served on a bed of wilted lettuce. the patio was a mess with wires hanging everywhere. my group was the one of three tables occupied and we were the only ones eating but the service was so slow that our whole "dining" experience lasted about two hours. the waitress walked past our table several times without asking if we needed anything. it got to the point where i had to pick up the check and my credit card and walk over to the bar and ask the bartender if i could pay there. i would never go to this place again, not even to just smoke hookah... which costs $14 for one by the way.

Pita House is smack in the middle of Old Town Scottsdale. I had lunch in the take-out section, which featured a HUGE screen for the menu. They also have a larger room in the back that showcases musicians on some evenints. This is the kabob platter. My favorite was the beef---juicy, tender, and beefy. The chicken was also very good. It comes with a salad, quite good rice, a little hummus, and a pita. Old Town restaurants tend to be on the expensive side, and this was no exception, but my lunch was very enjoyable.
