Great pizza and excellent wine selections. I had the pleasure of eating at Rare Earth tonight with my family. I'm a local and live 5 miles from restaurant. Moved here 3 years ago from Boston. Usually I drive south to eat out but decided to purchase a groupon and give this a try. It was well worth it. The Pizza is tremendous. Fresh, cooked to order the the staff is super friendly.

I will now be heading North to buy pizza or have a glass of wine. Well worth the trip.

This place needs to be inspected! I walked in a was hit in the face with the smell of raw sewage. As I sat I started to notice ceiling tiles that were rotted out. I left before my food even came.

Great ambiance, music, & wine. Great ambiance, live music, salads, pizza, and wine by the glass. It was a perfect place to meet friends for a casual Friday night. It was easy to eat light. The music was very nice, and it was possible to chat at the same time. Three of us had the spinach and strawberry salad, and one had the pear, walnut and blue cheese salad. The spinach strawberry salad was a winner, I will be back for that alone! The pear and walnut was good, but unfortunately the pears were not ripe. Pizza was thin crust and you could chose any topping your like. I did not love the pizza as much as the salad but would give it another try in the future just to eat that salad again!

Tasty food and wine. We loved the atmosphere of this place. It was very cozy and relaxing.

I ordered the seasonal wine flight. All the choices were wonderful. I don't like syrah so the server brought me a different red in place of it. I ordered the four cheese pizza which was very good. It actually tastes similar to Pizzeria Bianco's pizza. My husband had the wiseguy which he enjoyed.

Our server was very cool and very knowledgeable about wine. He was full of information but he wasn't pretentious and didn't make us feel stupid the way some other wine bar servers have in the past.

My only complaint was it was a little expensive for what you get. But their happy hour seemed very reasonable so we will definitely go back for that!

What am i missing?. I ate at the bar on my first and only visit. The chicken salad was tasty but the staff was very aloof and not real helpful. The energy in the place was very odd, as if everyone on the staff was new, and no one knew quite what to do. One male waitstaff actually had his fingers in his nose. Gawd.... I must be missing something.

Patriot. The Godfather pizza is great. Do not listen to ignorant geriatrics or stupid tourists that don't have a clue. Great place

-----13 Jan, 2010-----

Patriot. Their Godfather is a unique and very tasty pizza. Great place. Do not listen to geriatric morons and tourists. Local intelligent people frequent this place..unfortunately too little of.both exist. Hopefully they keep on keeping on.

Warm Chicken Cous Cous Salad.... ...need I say more!! By far my FAVORITE dish in all of North Scottsdale!! (and that includes the HIGH-END establishments).

My sister came in from the LA area (also has great eateries) and in less than two weeks we ate the WCCCS 3 times!! I'm going there tonight!

Love the owners and staff as well.

Great Views & Friendly Atmosphere. I have been coming to Rare Earth for the past four years now and I still love it. The staff is friendly, the views are great and the food is even better. This is the kind of place where the staff remembers your regular order and asks about the kids. It just feels like home to me.

However no matter how great the atmosphere, I wouldn't keep coming back week after week if it weren't for the food. In my opinion the pizza rivals Pizzeria Bianco and the wait is a lot shorter! The pizzas are very thin crust and extra crispy and the toppings are fresh and inventive. My personal favorite is the Breakfast Anytime pizza with extra-crispy crumbled bacon and an egg in the middle. If you are in the mood for a salad then I would have the Pear, Walnut & Blue Cheese salad which is tossed with lightly candied pecans as well. It's perfect for lunch or you can add some chicken and have it for dinner.

They also offer all kinds of regular specials like half-price wine bottles every Monday and a killer happy hour every day from 4pm - 6pm with $5 glasses of wine and $6 Margherita Pizzas. The free wireless internet is also a great excuse to "work" in the afternoon over a nice glass of wine.

Most people drive right by this little gem without even knowing it's here since it is tucked away upstairs, but the second story balcony is what gives the restaurant it's awesome mountain views. Check it out. You will be glad you did!
