Heavenly Roadside Cafe

Wonderful eatery in the forested mountains. Outside patio and clean quaint inside dinning room. The blood orange mimosa is yummy, see photo.the Greek omelet was full of good healthy foods and tasted delicious. The red potatoes home fries are a delite.. I would highly recommend this fine establishment.

Thursday is hiking day. My uncle and I went to Big Basin because he thought he'd read that they'd opened. We got there only to find they were closed. So we just went on a tour of the area since I'd never been to any of the surrounding cities before. For lunch, we went to Heavenly Roadside Café because my uncle had been there before. We ate inside, but they do have outdoor dining (and the view is LOVELY). He had ham and eggs, and the plate was FILLED with ham, eggs, and very appetizing-looking potatoes! (My uncle was gobsmacked because he received THREE very large slices of ham.) Seriously, the portion sizes were ample. I decided to order the Chinese Chicken Salad because I haven't had one in a long time. And this one didn't disappoint. It was packed with peanuts and topped with pickled ginger, which was a surprise ingredient but actually made it a very unique Chinese salad. The sesame dressing was exquisite. Oh, the salad also came with a large triangle that, I think, was a fried wonton. Anyhow, I broke it into pieces and gave my salad a little extra crunch (along with the lettuce crunch). By the way, our waitress was Kelly, and she was great. I recommend the Café if you happen to be in the area.

The Salmon Benedict was prepared perfectly. The eggs were just right, not runny or overcooked. The Hollandaise was exquisite! I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our dining experience this morning. I’ve had many Benedict’s, well done guys! We will stop by again on our next outing to Santa Cruz for sure. Our waitress Gade was also so pleasant and professional. Great service, great food, beautiful area… what’s not to love!?

Delicious food and amazing people. They truly made us feel like family and it was obvious it was out of genuine care. Our baby needed to eat as our food was delivered and the staff immediately offered to keep our food warm while we tended to him. It took longer then expected and they came over to chat and make sure everything was ok. They even remade a fresh order for my wife without us asking. The food was wonderful as always. We always come here whenever we visit and can't reccomend it enough.
