Pitkins was recommended by local people while we were vacationing in the area. The restaurant was FANTASTIC! The service was great and breakfast was spectacular. Prices were reasonable and the location is centrally located in the beautiful town of Schroon Lake. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

We were a party of 20 ppl and they were quick to accommodate us. The service was excellent and the servers were real nice. And the food was really really good. A good variety of choices. We’ll definitely visit again!!!

Want to say the food was the best part of this place (everything was great and my son’s burger was fantastic) but our server was so nice she was actually the best part.

I had a Reuben and fries, husband had fish and chips everything was delicious and the service was superb! Portions were large. Pecan pie was homemade and to die for. Restaurant sign in dining area reads- Pitkins Restaurant est. 1907! Very clean and restroom was immaculate ( dirty bathrooms at a restaurant are a regular flag for me). Will definitely stop here again when we're on the area.

The fish and chips is so fresh, crunchy, and yummy! It is one of our favorite meals here. Don't forget to get pie! I love the strawberry rhubarb pie and my husband loves the coconut cream pie. We've been eating here for decades and are always very happy with our meals.

We have always loved Pitkins in the past. Unfortunately last night was not a good experience and I hope it is not the norm. We waited 30 minutes with waitstaff walking around us before someone would take our order. No it was NOT busy , several empty tables. The person put the beverages down ; 2 ice teas, water and soda, she told us to figure out who got what and threw the straws down. The food was good but small portions. It’s not like the old Pitkins.

It doesn’t take much to take a restaurant from average or poor to great. Make it clean, be friendly, and use fresh ingredients prepared with care. All those attributes were found at Pitkins. I really enjoyed the haddock sandwich. Thanks for a great lunch experience.

A clean, ok place for a stop thru, not large items, not all homemade. Waitress kinda slow with only 3 parties. Schroon is a nice town, off season quiet now. Couple restaurants to choose, always good for simple Java & pie or lunch.
