Lockview Restaurant

UNFORTUNATELY, I got the Hot Roast Beef recently, and they changed the gravy. The gravy was nowhere near as good as it used to be. Updated to 4 stars. We stopped in here for breakfast the other day, and it was delicious!!!! My husband had the steak and eggs. The steak was very tender and well seasoned. I had the Monte Cristo....it was very tasty..I think that the French toast should have had a bit of a crisp to it, but that's my opinion. My son had the sausage biscuits and gravy. He gobbled it up, so I'd say it was good also... They open at 7 am, which is earlier than the other breakfast places, so YAY! The waitress was very friendly... ....it is very chilly in the morning, bring a sweater This place is seasonal..... ****original review **** It actually has a view...if you sit upstairs. I have only eaten here a couple of times, but I do enjoy eating in a restaurant that has a view. The prices are a little high for the service and the food selection. In my opinion. but it is a tourist place. On my last visit, however, I ordered the hot roast beef, and it was exactly what I was looking for...it has that good dark school cafeteria (or if anyone out there remembers Kmart cafeteria) gravy. Yum!

We happened to stumble upon this place visiting Soo Locks! It was excellent! We really got there just in time before they closed for the season, and were out of a few things, but that didn’t hinder the experience at all. In order, we got the Whitefish Basket with sweet potato fries, the club sandwich, and the whitefish dinner with wild rice and mashed potatoes. Kyle, our server was very kind! Everything was absolutely delicious. I personally had the whitefish basket, and as someone who doesn’t eat a lot of fish or had never tried whitefish before, this was a great choice. Thanks Kyle for a great experience! Can’t wait to come back again one day!

Great breakfast. I ordered the southern omelette, and added mushrooms, and it is fantastic and delicious. Just good solid comfort food in a home-cooked (diner?) style. Staff was friendly, accommodating and attentive. Also it was only $12.51, so this place is a excellent value and I will absolutely recommend eating here for breakfast again tomorrow. It was recommended to me to come here for the fresh caught fish, I'll have to come another time to try those offerings.

Delightful step back in time restaurant. Our dinner at Lockview was wonderful, from food to service 5 stars. This place feels so nostalgic and representative of the region. We were seated right away on the main floor and taken care of by Mandy who was likely the sweetest girl in the Sault. We ordered traditional dinner plates which come with two choices of sides. Delicious! If you want a good meal at a good price this is the place. Head over to the park across the street to watch the boats come through.

OMG! This place is amazing! Kyle was our waiter and he is simply marvelous! He's been with this restaurant for 9 years and knows everything about it! Quit with answers and suggestions. Everything was delicious. Drinks and food! Beware of the Lake Eerie Iced Tea. Lol 😂 it'll get you where you want to be quick! Will definitely be taking all future guests to eat here and meet Kyle!
