Review The Butler - Saugatuck

I got the Lake Perch Basket. It was very good, not oily at all, very light and tasty batter. The rest of the sides were delicious also. My wife got the pork ribeye. Wow ! So tender and juicy. And full of flavor. The server (Em) was great. All in all, it was a great meal with great views of the lake.

Great outdoor space in the summer but you’ll have to wait to get a table. We sat inside which took longer than expected (over an hour - they had enough table space but not enough help and were backed up in the kitchen). That being said, you could get a drink at the bar and the food was really good with nice sized portions. Terrific location and often live music outside in the summer. Would definitely return next time we’re in Saugatuck.

There is a reason this place has been around since 1961. The Butler has added a 2-story outdoor dining pavilion that / patio. We ate inside but the patio seeting was very popular. We both got the Oberon Burfer. It was savory, juicy, and delicious. Highly recommend. My beer-battered onion ring side upgrade was perfectly crunchy. My dining partner went for the Butler fries, a thick cottage fry.

HEARTY portions which I loved! We ordered the crab stuffed mushroom which was so cheesy and divine, and I highly recommend. Definitely hit the spot, and I would go there for that dish alone. It was very unique and flavorful! I loved the Ambience as well.

Love this place, miss the old Tiki bar but the new one is just as good if not better. Good service good food. We got married into the large oak tree. Five years ago. Love this place. Definitely stop by. To the management please never cut that tree down. That park is the best.

First of all, parking was a mess. We went on a weekend, ended up having to circle around for like 20 mins to get a free parking spot on the street close-by. This place is massive by the way. They have both an indoor and outdoor patio. There was a 20 min wait but we got a table outside. For food, we had the Hawaiian Chicken Pizza and Fired Perch Basket. It wasn’t bad at all. The fries and onion rings were on point. The service was great as well.

We stopped in to pick up food to go. The view was beautiful. Johnny was a great bartender/ host as we waited for our food. The food was well done and delicious!! The price was reasonable. Highly recommend the Butler Burger!

A great local stable in Saugatuck perfect for a warm day overlooking the river. My favorite items were the build your own Pizza: basil pesto, fresh mozzarella, roasted garlic, pepperoni, Italian sausage and the blood orange margarita.

Locals told us to go for a drink and to expect slow service and they didn't disappoint ... ridiculously slow. Drinks, however were really good!! Didn't do food or apps. Need more bartenders!

Great service, only issue was one waiter hit a spider that went flying onto our table, not a good move dude. Other than that it was an Amy experience for my birthday!

This is a really nice restaurant with great water views. The atmosphere is very cozy and classy. We had a pizza which was very good 😊 and a brisket sandwich with onion rings. The sandwich was also very good. The dining room was not too loud and the staff was very nice. We happened to be seated between a shift change unfortunately... It happens that we didn't see any wait staff for nearly 20 minutes after being seated. We did enjoy the meal and the views. I would recommend to anyone to try The Butler, and I will go back again soon. Check this place out. I'm sure you will find it to be worth it.

Just happen along here, wasn’t sure, looked like a great place but we were sold when a lady leaving said ‘We came last night and it was So good we had to come back!’ It did not disappoint! We had the Cobb salad, walleye sandwich and a burger (any one is good).

My hubby says it was one of the best burgers he's ever eaten! I had an autumn salad, with a petite strip steak, it was spectacular. Lovely cinnamon pecans, dried cranberries, fresh strawberries, on a bed of mixed greens. Absolutely delicious! They seated us on the window table, and the view was beautiful. Emily, our server took great care of us, and even talked us into desert. Can't wait to go back, and I highly recommend this gem of a restaurant.

Wow! Excellent service and amazing food. We ordered Boom Boom Shrimp. It was the perfect blend of spice and flavor. Yum! The Squash & Sprouts Salad [GF] was amazeballs (my hubby's words). Highly recommend. The Bacon, Apple & Gouda Burger was perfection! And the Smoked Brisket Beef & Cheddar was every beef-lover's dream. If you visit the Saugatuck area, GO HERE! You'll thank me 😉

Fantastic. Best clam chowder west of Maine. Our server, Tiana, made our visit perfect. Can't wait for summer to enjoy the outside seating. Lots of history posted to make your imagination go crazy about days of old

Update to review! The response to my feedback is more than I could have ever hoped for! What amazing management this restaurant is under! Changing my review to 5 because teamwork is what it is all about! I will go out of my way to continue to Visit here!!! Be careful ordering the Greek dip the chips are incredibly hard I couldn’t eat them fearing breaking a tooth so I asked for some regular pita bread but they didn’t have any so I ate the Greek dip with tortilla chips lol but the chowder was Awesome!The sangria was not too sweet very enjoyable.. the customer service was also pretty accommodating:) The view of the water was fantastic.
