Ham & Eggs Restaurant

We went Father's Day, so we called just in case it was busy. It was rammed. The decor is beachy blue with original artwork. We were seated by the orange juice machine. First time I ever saw that the juice is really freshly squeezed. The kids' selection is truly kiddie friendly and not an over filled plate of food. The pancakes were shaped like teddy bears or Mickey Mouse. I had the French toast, which is scrumptious. Hubby got the sampler, which is a nice sized portion. We had originally gone to use my kid's gift certificate he got from school, but it was a holiday, so we'll come back another time to use them. Service is efficient. Servers were very busy today, but they turned the orders very quickly and got people seated very quickly despite the mad rush. Reminded me of brunch places during peak hour in the Lower East Side - quick, efficient, tasty. I never knew how busy it was in here. I pass by it all the time. This means it is good and the service is great. I'd probably come back when it's less busy and not a special occasion to enjoy the meal even more.

This gem of a place was phenomenal. I came with my 5-year-old on a Sunday morning and was shocked to be seated right away. This is a credit to the ample space with lots of seating and organized, young, fast-moving staff. The kids menu has good options, with a variety of fresh berry fruits as the side (not just melons!) But perhaps best of all is what they have instead of the typical cheap waxy crayons that break in less than a minute…Wikki Stix! Genius. My daughter was captivated the entire time and we are now ordering this toy for ourselves! The owner of this restaurant should get a commission! Our server was prompt, friendly with a nice smile and just the right amount of attentive. She knew the menu and also knew how to talk to a child. The fresh-squeezed orange juice alone was worth the visit. My egg sandwich with ham was cooked perfectly, the side bacon was crispy, and the breakfast potatoes were not your typical heavy starchy side. A trip to the “treasure box” for my daughter completed our weekend visit to The Original Egg. Kudos to this locally owned restaurant with a lovely owner for going that extra mile. We will definitely be back!!

The food here was just amazing, coming here on Christmas eve about 20 mins before close they still took us (my family of 4) in and got us seated with huge smiles on their face. When ordering our waitress took her time with us, and our wait time for our food took no time at all (roughly 5-10 mins) When our food came to the table everything looks delicious and it tasted just as good as it looked! Their Belgium waffles with whipped cream and powdered sugar were just perfect, with the side of scrambled eggs having the perfect about of food! The colossal Pancake is just that, it was massive from what I was told it was delicious and the eggs on the side was a tad too much
