L’opera Bakery

Just stopped in after getting a massage a few doors down (I reviewed them too) and wow what an incredible find! The gentleman working, I assume was the owner, was kind and helpful and guided me to order the ham/cheese/egg croissant which was the most delectable breakfast croissant I’ve ever had. The croissant itself was perfectly flaky on the outside and gooey on the inside, the egg was not an afterthought and cooked to a perfect omelette style, the cheese, which I assume was a creamy Brie was the cherry on top of it all. Absolutely delicious! The side salad had an amazing dressing, which tasted very homemade, and had me craving more (I’m European and appreciated the sweet onions on the salad!) I can’t wait to be back with my family for breakfast, the menu is mouthwatering. I’ve never been to France, but I presume this is the closest I’ve ever gotten to true French food in the states.

I have never written a Google review before, but then, my family has never had a food experience as special and wonderful as we've had at L'Opera Bakery and Bistro. To eat there is to be transported from a tiny strip mall in Sarasota to a quaint streetside cafe in the heart of Paris. The talented Cherki family who own and run L'Opera are there every single day pouring their hearts into creating and serving outstanding French pastries and cuisine. The pastries are exquisite. The bread and baguettes are divine. Everything on the menu is cooked from scratch and absolutely delicious. Let's talk for a moment about L'Opera's cakes! When we celebrated my mother's hundredth birthday, we threw a big party and they created THE MOST spectacular cake EVER for the event. Then, when my mom turned 101, they created another edible work of art. The Bushe de Noel we had for Christmas was spectacular! Adding to the amazing food is the warm, welcoming, and friendly atmosphere of the L'Opera. The Cherki Family works tirelessly to make magic happen for their guests every day. L'Opera is truly our family's favorite restaurant in Sarasota! It is parfait!

If You’re looking for some FRESH homemade French pastries and bread, this is the place. I haven’t try the food yet, but the CROISSANTS are to die for… David the owner helps you practice your French if you’re looking for a place to go and show up a little bit of it. He don’t mind practicing. I didn’t take pictures of the he croissant because it was so delicious that I swallow it… J’adore this place 🥐

Everything here is homemade and delicious. This is the most authentic French pastries and breakfast and menu that you can find in Sarasota. The owners are super accommodating and friendly. Going here every time is consistently a treat and something new to try. Highly recommended if you appreciate good quality food
