Rico's Pizzeria

Highly recommend it! I can’t say enough about this place. We always get the same thing. Large pizza with sausage, onion, pepperoni, and the chicken Alfredo with penne pasta. The Alfredo sauce is top notch. The best I’ve ever had it’s creamy it’s garlicky it’s just super delicious. And they always meet you when you walk in the door I really like that.

One of the best experiences we have had at a restaurant. The staff is very phenomenal, the food is amazing. The waitress was told I'd never had a canoli, I was in the restroom when it was ready, she put it in the cooler until I was back so it was perfect and not melted when I finally got to try it! ❤️

Having arrived here in 2018 from NY, I’ve been lamenting that there wasn’t decent pizza in Florida, let alone Sarasota. Then I discovered Rico’s in Gulf Gate I saw an article in the Times Herald saying that Rico’s was one of the 20 top pizza places in the Country, let alone Florida. Needless to say I was quite skeptical. My wife and I drove 30 minutes and by the outside appearance of the restaurant we weren’t too hopeful. We were warmly greeted by the owner Mark, told him we are from NY and knew good pizza, ordered a pie, and waited. Mark’s pizza was incredibly good and I felt like I was back in the Bronx! Unquestionably, this is the best pizza in Florida and can’t wait to go back. There are several Rico’s Pizzas in the Sarasota area but they are unaffiliated. If you want the best, you’ve got to go to Gulf Gate

We were skeptical at first BUT now we wish we would have found this place earlier in our stay! This privately owned establishment did not disappoint!! Our waitress, Ice was terrific! Definitely recommend to any one! The pizza was huge and we had a crowd and still took pizza home! Thin crust was good and the flavors were amazing!
