Audrey-jamaican Cuisine & Rum Cakes

I had the jerk chicken, rice and peas, and plantains. All were very good, i like my plantains cooked a bit longer but still very sweet. The chicken had a nice low burn. I am looking forward to going back to try their curried goat. Will be tough to beat Island Choice in Avon Park. Also will finish off with some black rum cake next time.

I ordered lunch there and Audrey and her husband were really nice BUT the food was awful. The chicken tasted like it was seasoned with dirt, they used parboiled rice with is just awful and the callaloo was bland, greasy and overcooked. The plantains and cabbage was ok, but they really need to do better. This is the second time I’ve been there and the first time the patty they sold me was Literally raw. I really wanted to give them a second try but this time was worse! Also, Audrey was handling money while preparing the food, I noticed she didn’t wash her hands after giving the customer her change. I should’ve left at that point. This is not true Jamaican food at all
