Korean Ssam Bar

I had heard great things about Korean Ssam Bar so my wife and I went with some friends. We got the Yuk Gae Jang and Soondubu jigae. They were both extremely flavorful and contained a ton of food. All of the banchan was also nice. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to others looking for authentic Korean food.

Absolutely delicious and we had such a wonderful time there. Please trust me when I say this because my family went there for 3 meals: 2 dinners and 1 lunch 😹 and they were all delicious. We wouldn't have done this if their menu wasn't full of such a wide variety of meals. The menu is really wide and varied and everything was delicious. It was such a shame that everytime we wouls all started eating before I could take pictures of the food (I only took a picture of one). We had galbi, soon tofu, jjampong, jajangmyeon(twice haha), naengmyeon, korean spicy BBQ chicken (also twice), spicy squid stir fry and more. All of it was delicious. This place is perfectly family friendly and really welcoming. However, one thing to note is that they don't have sushi anymore on their menu which might be disappointing for some people but don't let that deter you from trying some really good authentic Korean food.

My husband and I love coming here whenever we crave Korean food. Their rice is unique, the banchan (appetizer plates) has a lot of variety, the dishes always come out piping hot (quite literally) especially when it's served in a stone pot - see my video, it was still bubbling for several minutes after it came out! Bulgogi, galbi, ramen, bibimbap, it's all been so good. What my husband loves most is how their higher levels of spice are truly HOT. Only one time has he been disappointed recently, just with the small amount of meat he got in his Korean fried chicken dish. Inflation is high, for real, we all know it, but no one wants to leave hungry. This only happened once, and it's not enough to dissuade us from coming back. I believe I heard the owner say they do not serve sushi anymore, just a heads up. Their menu is marked to signify what is vegetarian friendly. All in all, the flavors are so good that we're repeat customers for life!

This location is very nostalgic for me. 30 years ago it was Sub Concious and it became my go-to sandwich shop. They've been gone for years now. 💔 But then Ssam Bar opened in the same spot. I've eaten here, takeout & inside, at least a dozen times, even through Covid (takeout only then). Everything I've had - and I love to explore a menu - is superb. The staff is fun, helpful, friendly, and glad to help figure out whatever you don't understand. The menu is well divided by style with good descriptions to help out. And did I mention everything is delicious? The strip plaza building has been around for decades but there are curb cuts and there is handicapped parking right in front. The threshold into the restaurant is easily rolled over.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING i do not live here actually i live like 3 hrs from here and i am so glad we stopped. best korean food i have ever had they had everything i needed. the side dishes/ pickles were also so fresh and tasty!! the waiter was so kind and pleasing to talk to they also had entertaining shows playing behind the bar. Would drive 3 hrs to eat here!!! seriously update: i have been back since and it is just as good as the first time! i seriously love this little place and most would pass right by it, the owners are so kind and nice, genuine people, we talked to them about the chayote pickles they serve and they even brought more to the table because they knew we liked then, multiple times!! would recommend this Korean to anyone who asked!
