Great dinner Friday night at the bar. Bill took very good care of us and the new Chef Veronica's food was outstanding. My wife had a beautiful salad to start and I had the mussels in a very unique broth that had a nice kick to it. We shared the Lasagna and Fettucini with Lamb Ragu (the special) and both were superb. Fresh Pasta and homemade bread also! Our meals were great and the portions were perfect, a rarity in restaurants.

Giorgio's is a great place to relax and have a very, very good meal for a reasonable price. We dined last night and both of our meals were nicely prepared and tasty. I had the Pork Sugo which was super tender. My husband had the bison meatloaf which was also very good. We appreciate the quality of the food and wine and careful thought put into each item on the menu! We'll be back for sure.

Great meal at our first visit to Giorgio's. Cherry tomato and risotto appetizer was flavorful and the tomatoes were perfectly ripe and sweet. Best tomatoes since moving from Ohio. Shrimp and pasta had fantastic grilled flavor, the pasta was cooked to perfection, and more roasted cherry tomatoes! Very attentive staff and a few table visits by Chef Rebekah were much appreciated. Definitely planning a return visit.

4 stars from what the restaurant USED TO BE............great Italian food with a wood-fire pizza oven. Went there about a week ago and menu is completely changed. No Italian, no pizza. Unfortunately we don't like the menu so won't be back. Good luck though..........

Excellent dinner! The new Chef Rebekah Peranio has brought in seasonal and regionally sourced ingredients from local farmers and producers to create gourmet traditional meals. We actually got to meet the Chef and she made the commitment that they are not using any more plastic or Styrofoam. Some of the local Sarasota restaurants are not offering plastic straws but converting back to bio-degradable paper straws. The food. We started with the Baked Goat Cheese, Herbed House Bread Crumb; Castelvetrano Olive Tapenade as an appetizer. Very good. Our entrees were:Grilled Gulf Shrimp with Confit Cherry Tomato, Black Olives, Capers and Angel Hair Pasta and Herb Roast Chicken,Agro Dolce Fingerling Potatoes, Garlic Aioli and Seasonal Vegetables. Everything was delicious. You can always tell when the plates leave the table clean that we enjoyed everything. The service was spot on. It was just a very delightful evening meal. There were so many other interesting menu items that we definitely will be back to try them.

We just tried this gem with our friends Sunday evening on Hillview. Pasta with our choice of sauces and toppings along with a fresh salad So good! My husband had a great pizza. The in - house homemade bread is outstanding! If you haven't tried this place give it a go. You won't be disappointed!

Giorgio's on Hillview, which used to be the old Mercados, still looks the same outside and in, but a dramatic change in meal quality now that it's under different management. Let's start with the service, one of the most important factors of a good dining experience. The service was very good. And then there was the manager, Leon. You have to respect the confidence of a manager who, when challenged to define what a good meatball is, turns around goes right into the kitchen and brings back a meatball: -which happened to taste excellent. That was a demonstration of (-proverbially) putting one's meatball where their money is. It was good enough that I wish I had had the meatball for dessert instead of the limoncello cake but that's another story. The meal selections for our party ranged from the traditional veal parmesan to the seafood cioppino, and the chicken Giulia; all of which were well presented and well prepared. If anything detracted from our enjoying our meal it was the ambiance. Someone thought it was a good idea to have the window open this evening when it was 85 degrees outside. Also, having that front sliding door open allows all of the street-noise including passing cars & couple of obnoxious loud motorcycles into the dining room. With that door open there was nothing to stop the stink of cigars and cigarettes smoke from people milling about in front of the bar next door from coming in where we were eating. That is a decision which seriously deserves to be rethought. So while I would give this restaurant pluses for service and food, the decision to leave that sliding door open didn't help our party enjoy our meals. We will be returning, that much is certain; the food was that good. But you can bet I will be requesting a table away from the sliding doors and if they are open: - I'll be asking for them to be closed.

Amazing food for a delightful price. The atmosphere is great, and you simply MUST try the Alfredo sauce. It's like no other sauce I've ever tried. I've been here a few times and the dishes are always great and served up relatively quickly. Service is great and it seems like every time I go - even if it's busy - someone from upper management always checks on us at the end of our meal to ensure we were satisfied. I keep this place high on my list of favorite places to eat!

From the moment we arrived the manager's greeting made us feel right at home. Our waitress, Ariana, had just the right mix of sass and service to make our time there memorable. The best part though, was the food. Pastas, sauces, meatballs, and eggplant parm were all excellent and the salads were super fresh and crispy. The dessert menu looked wonderful but unfortunately we ate too much to partake. We just happened to be there for the early bird specials and the lower prices and less than a full house were a nice surprise. Giorgio's earned a five star rating in my book!
