Ruth's Chris Steak House - Sarasota

What an amazing first experience! My Waitress Sonia was fantastic (and an amazing photographer)! Overall was an phenomenal evening out! Thank you Sonia for making our Anniversary one to remember. Keep being beautiful and amazing. The food was amazing I reccomend trying the ravioli appetizer (it is top notch)! HUGE portions with a great taste with each bite. We will be back.

This place is brand new so my comments should be taken into that context. Probably the loudest RC I've been to and I've been to them all over the world. I'm actually looking forward to going back but this time sitting at the bar. My only criticism probably isn't even 100% attributable to this RC but more so the clientele. I was there on a Monday night and it seemed too casual in the dress and actions of some other guests. Spending $500 on a dinner for two should include some class on behalf of the guests. Some people were dressed like slobs while others carried on with phone calls - some on speaker phone - in the dining room. I'd love to see RC enforce some dress and decorum standards. I will definitely return in the hopes that his place classes it up a little bit more.

This is regarding the Lakewood Ranch new location. I was there for happy hour and had probably the second best margarita ever! I ordered their happy hour burger which is pretty decent and tasty. My only dislike which is minor, is that about 75% of the parking lot is valet only. Why do you need valet service or mandate it pretty much, when a parking lot is right there at the restaurant less than 50 yards max? Seems like just another way to squeeze more money out of their patrons. Typically, valet service should be optional and not "mandated".

My first visit to this location was on 9/19 for happy hours. We enjoyed the drink and food from the happy hour menu. It was great fun to talk with another couple and the bartender. Sadly, I just noticed today, while reviewing my credit card bill, that my $25 gift card was not applied to my bill. I have no way to prove it so just am noting for others that customer attention to details like that is recommended as I totally missed it.

My expectations were highly exceeded. The food and service are phenomenal, and every single aspect of the evening was incredible. From the moment the hostess opened the door and welcomed my group to the final moment we left, I enjoyed myself. My waiter, Granville, was highly attentive and to took extra measures and precautions to ensure that my food was free from milk or butter as I'm allergic. Normally I never go to a steak house since most of the food is coated in butter or cheese. Granville took care and didn't make me feel like I was a burden. I try not to emphasize it when going out, but it was nice to have choices and the chef taking time to prepare my meal correctly. The wine was fantastic, and my lobster tail was so flavorful, and the steak seasoned to perfection. Finally, a restaurant that knows how to season its food properly. I enjoyed a lemon drop martini and after a slight tweak of an addition of more simple syrup, it was divine. My friends had the calamari appetizer which was out of this world according to my husband who doesn't normally like squid, devoured his portion. We had so much food we took home our beautifully presented desserts. The accompanying berries to my spouse's cheesecake and my fruit plate were plentiful and picked at its peak time. We can't wait to go again, and this is a wonderful addition to the Lakewood Ranch community. I love this new restaurant! The atmosphere was upscale and classic and thankfully not overly noisy. I felt the restaurant staff was approachable, dedicated and had wonderful attitudes. Also, the restaurant was clean and well decorated. The bathrooms were nice as well and appeared to be serviced continually. We will definitely return and can't wait to try the happy hour.

Definitely my favorite Happy Hour in the area. Everything from the service to the food make it a win. Not uncommon from other Ruths' I've been in. The bar staff is great - they stay on top of everything and are there when you need them. They do one thing I love - they'll move people to make room to fill all seats. The Happy Hour menu is great - if you like a burger, get one that comes out of a kitchen that deals in high-grade meats...it shows! The steak sandwich is just as good. Their wine pours aren't low-grade happy hour quality, always good choices with consistent pours that give value. Whether in a suit or shorts, it is a typical Ruth's...they don't care and are focused on good food.

We made a reservation online. When I made it I did not know that it was a "fancy" restaurant, with well dressed employees and customers. We went with our two crazy kids making noise, ready to cause a commotion. The staff was extremely nice and welcoming. They calmed our nerves. Very professional and nice! Thank you so much for making our night a great one!
