Mirna's Cuban Cuisine

This is a hidden gem in a very small strip plaza. There are only around 10 tables in the restaurant and they were full the entire time we were there. We only waited around 10 minutes before we were seated. The food here is amazing! My wife and I ordered the skirt and palomino steaks with yellow rice and sweet fried plantains. From the first bite I was hooked and knew that this place would be a regular place to come to from now on since we live in the area. We also ordered the Mango and passion fruit juices, which were also very good! Our server Jorge was very attentive. Everyone there except one of the female servers is family. Mirna is the cook and she can cook! You get a good portion of food at a very reasonable price. Initially I thought that my skirt steak was a good portion before I realized that it was folded over and there was more under the layer that I was looking at. It was a nice surprise 😀 The restaurant has been here for 6 years and my only regret is not coming here sooner. UPDATE: I have been here 5 times since my original post. Each time has not disappointed. The food and service are always great.

Do you love croquetas?! I mean really, who doesn't!!!!! mirna's is a hidden gem!!! Truly 10/10 delicious! Had great service and the food was to die for. There are approximately 10 tables or so and if it is packed, just wait.... It's worth it! Started with the croquetas, had a pan con ropa vieja sandwich and my wife had the roast pork with black beans and rice and plantains. How do you finish such a good meal that a cortadito!!! Cannot wait to come back

small place to dine in; not many tables. We order to go and it was about 20-25 min wait. This was THE ONLY disappointment. The food was EXCELLENT!! The service was polite and kind. We drove from Venice....to eat here and it was worth it!! would definitely go back!! Definitely worth the price of the drive and the pocket cash!!

AMAZING!!! As a fellow Cuban originally from New Jersey, it was so exciting to be able to try authentic Cuban food in Florida! Food was SO GOOD, portions are large, prices are amazing, servers and staff are all so kind, walls covered in adorable cuban decorations and paintings, literally can not think of one bad thing to say. Do yourself a favor and try this place out!

Food is absolutely delicious. We tried the vaca frita, arroz imperial and the cuban sandwich. All were excellent and good portions. Only complaint is the parking lot is tiny and so is the dining room. We went in the middle of the afternoon hoping to avoid any crowd but the place was packed. We waited probably 30 minutes but it was worth it!! Will definitely return and recommend.

Wow! DELICIOUS. What a treat it was to find Mirna's. Authentic food, good service, at a "hole is the wall" type of eatery. The establishment is very small and old. Don't expect an atmosphere for a first date or filled with romance. You go there for the yummy food and friendly smiles. The service was friendly and precise. Recommendations were given when dairy allergies were mentioned. Food came within 15 to 20 minutes after ordering, which is average. The food was very tasty. Authentic flavors, well seasoned, and left you wanting more. Portions were large enough to share or, have yummy leftovers. They also have yummy Aguas that are a must try. I would definitely return.

What an amazing find. Decided to side step the Grill at the Ringling for some authentic Cuban food. Lorna’s was a score. Gracious and accommodating for a table of 6, in a late lunch rush. Everything was excellent from Mango Shake to Cuban Coffee, Plantains, Tostones, tea and refreshing ice cold water. It was impressive to see care for cleaning tables between guests bussing and washing with sanitizing spray. You will absolutely not be disappointed if you step outside the big and the bold and head for the authentic & unassuming.
