Jim's Small Batch Bakery

The cheese croissant was delicious. Fresh, flaky, and a generous amount of filling. The bacon cheddar thing was also really good, even for being a day-old (they have a tray of discounted day-old items). I haven't tried anything else, but the menu looks really good. Breakfast and lunch sandwhiches, beer, wine, and mimosas! I'll be back for all of them. :)

Delicious and comforting, the sweets and treats at Jim's Small Batch Bakery are a delight and a local treasure. It's the only bakery I know of in town that actually makes their own croissants. The staff is passionate, friendly and helpful. If you ever find yourself in Sarasota, this is the one place to go and enjoy your lazy, comforting mornings.

None better! Did you know that on Saturdays chef boiles his own bagels, but you better get there between 11:30 and 2:30 to get them! And if you are a New Yorker like me and know a Bialy, well let me tell you, you have found the BEST! ( you might need to special order them, as there are not too many of us out there demanding them) Don't forget a slice of Carrot Cake for a sinful indulgence, that sounds like you are behaving.

Jim's performance with my wedding cake went above and beyond my expectations! I love putting together unique flavors, but It can be difficult with baked goods as my daughter and I eat dairy and gluten free. Guests of the wedding party were hesitant to try the matcha green tea cake with white chocolate frosting and hazelnut brittle. They all made fun of me for my flavor choices especially bc of the unique ingredient requests. Everyone was speechless after trying his amazing creation! He is extremely gifted and I appreciate the time and effort that went into the wedding cake at such a busy time of year! I would give 100 starts if I could! Thank you so much!

Recently wanted to get a German Chocolate Cake as a surprise for my wife's 63rd birthday. We had moved to Venice from Massachusetts two years ago and had been unable to find a GC cake that would meet her standards. I had heard about Jim's Small Batch and decided to give them a try. I called on a Tuesday and was able to pick up the cake on the Saturday. My wife loved it. I loved it. Our neighbors and guests loved it. This cake was the best that we have ever had, and we have a had a fair number of German Chocolate Cakes on her birthdays. This one was dense, sweet, and yummy. The dark chocolate on top was perfect. The cake was created with obvious passion. Thank you Jim. You are an artist.
