Village Bakery

They have excellent baked goods including my favorite bread. Place is clean. Staff is mostly fine. Mostly good customer service. What they have in stock widely varies. One day they have 20 loaves of bread at 5 pm. The next day they are sold out of same bread by noon. I’ve learned to call first. I wasn’t happy on recent visit. It won’t stop me from shopping there, just make me wary. At 4:50 pm Saturday I called to check if they still had bread available. Male clerk said they had large supply. I said I’d be there “in around 15 minutes.” He said he’d see me soon. I ran an errand before going and arrived at 5:15 pm. They were closed! I called and asked him why he hadn’t told me they were closing at 5 pm. Which was 5 minutes AFTER I’d said I’d be there. He said they were running behind. He didn’t think they would actually be closed at 5 pm. I think they should have cautioned me. They had recently changed their hours. I believe they used to close at 6 pm. on Saturdays. When he didn’t warn me, I figured I had at least until 5:30 pm.
