They had a prefixed Thanksgiving menu. It was fabulous, the beautiful boat painting is an artist Ed roche, So I became a lover of his art by this boat photo that is in the restaurant. It's beautiful, very expensive. He's still alive in his '80s and lives in Venice and he's an amazing artist.

The atmosphere at The Ivy is incredible. Fresh flowers and a beautifully set table. When my daughter and I first arrived for lunch on a Thursday around 130 pm the restaurant was half full. We were sat in the back dining room. It was a chilly day (55) and cloudy. They had the overhead heaters in and it was very warm when we first arrived that it was almost too hot to stay. Once we acclimated our glorious wait staff of 3 different servers made sure our glasses were full at all times and continuously checked to make sure we were OK. My daughter ordered the margherita pizza and a Caesar salad while I had the crabcakes and the delicious Caesar salad with anchovies. I have never had a Caesar salad with anchovies, which is the original way to eat it, and it gave it a very unique and salty taste that I actually enjoyed. I was not impressed with the three small crabcakes. They seemed to be over cooked and I chewed on a shell or 2 and that is why I give it 4 stars. Nonetheless, the remoulade sauce was delicious and complemented the crab cakes that were dry and crunchy. I can’t express enough how friendly are waiters were and when they found that we were from out of town, they took the time to give us really good recommendations on where to go. Our total came to a little over $120 for 2 people with tip know which was but also wasn’t surprising.

I wish I could leave 10/10, and a great shout out to Juan at the bar. He is the star of the show. I loved the food and drinks, must try passion fruit martini. And service was above and beyond. Wonderful atmosphere with great relaxing music and flowers all around. Can't wait to be back!

This is an LA classic! This location has been here since 1985 and always amazing! There is nothing I can't recommend on the menu. Whatever you order will be among the best you've had! Crab cakes, Famous Ivy Salad (it's a meal) add a protein like Scallops and/or shrimp, Steaks are first rate and cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend!!@

I have been to the Beverly Hills location a few times and would say I prefer there over this Santa Monica location even though it’s been open since 1985. In my opinion they have the best Red Velvet Cake I have ever had but it is overall the meal is overpriced for what you get. Also parking in this area is a lot trickier, your best option will be valet or one of the pay lots next-door for $15 for two hours. Our server was polite, although very busy tonight. This is a bit of a tourist trap in my opinion but still there are some good dishes. I started off with the Crab Cakes and they were pretty good although not great. I think they are overly expensive for $25 for three small cakes so I would not recommend ordering it. For my entrée I had the special for the evening: the Branzino & Shrimp. The Branzino was very tasty, although the shrimp was the tiny piece shrimp that you get in a regular shrimp salad. Wish it was prawns or something larger. The cannelloni beans on the side was a strange choice in my opinion, I would’ve much rather had a small salad, or even a type of rice. For dessert I got what I always get when I go to any Ivy location and it’s the old-fashioned Red Velvet Cake. As mentioned, it’s the best Red Velvet Cake I’ve ever had and would highly recommend it. I would honestly go there just for the cake. Overall, I know this is a famous LA restaurant that’s been open since 1985, but I honestly would not recommend it over many other locations in town. It’s not bad but it’s definitely not great. Also, this is more of a casual place to go with friends or family. I would not suggest it as a business dinner or a date spot.

I am pleased to share my Sunday brunch experience at the IVY Santa Monica. Beautiful venue & strategic location by the pier, very convenient valet parking service, friendly and kind staff, efficient dining service, and adorable ambiance and decors. It was a lovely place to enjoy your Sunday morning-afternoon, people watching, and breathe the ocean fresh air. Food was delicious, well-seasoned, tasty. Drinks are fruity, generous portion, and just right hit the sweet spot on my palate. I love how clean and spotless the lady’s room is, how the floral uniforms the staff are wearing, and fresh flowers (roses) on each tables. It is a very cute spot for a daytime date too. I’d recommend the valet parking, totally worth the trip and time to dine here on a busy Sunday of the Labor Day weekend. 🌈✨🥰🌷🌻🍀

This place is amazing I'm here on California for vacation and I knew there was gonna be really amazing restaurants and I was not disappointed with Ivy at the Shore. I arrived at LA and the first place I went to visit was the Santa Monica pier and that build up an appetite. We were walking around and came across this place and the name just grabbed my attention and we decided to try it out. I was not disappointed the place it self is really beautiful and classy with white table cloths and well dress waiters and waitresses. The service was amazing and nothing to what I've seen back home. They brought us water to start and the waiter knew the menu and recommended some stuff to us. We ended up getting some fresh squish orange juice and it was great and they use sweet oranges and nice and cold. We then got two prime beef hamburgers with mushrooms and a regular cheese burger. My wife got the steak and lobster tail which was also amazing, the steak was well cook and the tail fresh as you expect from a restaurant next to the beach. Dessert was amazing as well, they brought ice cream and also fruits we wanted another plate when we finished it. Glad I came to this place!

Have dined here many times over the years, last time was July 2020 this time, two weeks ago. Still on their game. Great food and terrific and attentive service. Seafood pasta was divine. Fresh pasta was cooked al dente ( not an easy task, made for a toothsome texture) and seafood fresh. Will always recommend this establishment.

It’s beyond me how anyone could give it 1 star. Food Service Vibe Decor Location Mood Each and every one of those are top notch. No, it’s not an Italian restaurant. Do they have great pasta and meatballs though? They sure do. No, it’s not a Mexican joint. Do they have outstanding tacos? Yup. Deserts? 14 positions! Homemade organic. Salads? All ingredients come from local farms. Specials? All fish and crabs were caught today. Even basic bread is not basic - it’s whole what with a touch of molasses and salted butter on the side. Silverware? Plates? Custom-made art projects. Cleanness? Tidy! I don’t know what else you need for a romantic authentic non-touristy evening in one of the most tourist places in LA (I’ve lived in LA for 10 years and I just discovered this place tonight even though it’s been around since the 80s.. hence process and quality) It’s a real restaurant, not a quick drive-through.

Simply sensational! I felt like I was dining in Paris. Romantic, lovely little spot, champagne is handed to you the minute you walk in the door! I had a lobster pizza that put all pizzas to shame! Everything was wonderful, food, staff, decor...5 stars!

Food and staff are amazing. I really wanted to praise Sina and his fabulous customer service. We had the shrimp tacos (the best) and the Branzino (also A++). We sat at the patio and Sina opened the ceiling cover for us to improve the air quality. Valet ladies were also amazing. We are very grateful for our experience! Thank you!
