Review The Dining Room - Sandusky

Rodger Liley
Awesome home style with menu or buffet. The food reminds me of my aunt Laura's cooking on the farm. It's on a side street off the main drag in Sandusky and signs are simple black and white home made. Definitely worth checking out but don't expect it to be "fancy" it's more like visiting family. This is one of those genuine kind of places that Applebee's and Cracker Barrel try to pretend to be. One of the owners has bad poultry allergies so no poultry on the menu. The beef and pork are slow cooked and fork tender. Just remind the kids there's no chicken fingers on the menu. Worth a try!

Decent food. The salad bar didn't have much meat options but was still good. Service was ok. Make sure you pay cash it cost extra for card. Only major down side was the women's restroom stall with the baby station was out of order and locked so that wasn't too great with my one year old. Overall wasn't a bad experience like most say.

Great lil hidden gem. I recommend to any local or traveler going through town. Have ate here a few times now and have had a great experience and great food every time. Thank you💚🙏

Food was great. Atmosphere is home town. Service was good. Had a barbecued pork sandwich on a homemade bun and with a salad bar great choice.!

Text and ask if they can compete with BK onion rings and zesty sauce. (Took my special needs brother there)Till we arrived they had a zesty sauce whipped up and he thought the rings and sauce were great. (The last two time trying to go to BK the doors were locked)

We were searching for somewhere in the area to eat after shopping and picked this place because of all the good reviews. It’s a very homey, family like atmosphere which is different from most places but in a good way. We all ended up doing the buffet which was delicious! They had pulled pork, meatloaf, Mac and cheese, stuffing, squash, green beans among other things. We also had some wonderful stuffed pepper soup. The people working were incredibly friendly and sweet. I’m very glad we found this place and will certainly be back.
