Review Casa Real - Sandusky

Tia Marchese
Me, my boyfriend & my cousin traveled from Monroe, Michigan to Sandusky OH and we’ve been staying at Great Wolf Lodge and decided on mexican food, we found this place and when we went there it was completely empty which made us hesitant but the staff was extremely friendly and attentive and their food was amazing, it came out fresh & hot. It was super clean and they were great for COVID. If I come back to Sandusky I will definitely be eating here again!!

I'm from out of town, I wasn't expecting this place to be that good since we have a great Mexican place in Canton. I was wrong, everything from the chips and salsa... to my rice and beef soft tacos were great. Clean and friendly place, great service that's fast. I will definitely come back here if I'm ever in the area.

Food was good. The "beef" was shredded not "ground", like hamburger. So the taste is different.

Good Mexican restaurant. Probably not authentic by Mexican food standards, but this is North Central Ohio so I doubt authentic Mexican food would be so popular. The enchilada sauce was good, and the portions are filling. Lots of vegetarian options, and I was able to get my chimichangas made with rice instead of beef. Jesus was a great server. He enjoyed peek-a-booing my toddler. He even made it a point to tell us not to worry about the mess our baby would make. We cleaned up after ourselves anyhow, but he came mid meal to sweep under his seat.

Superb food, excellent service, tasty drinks, super clean place with a great atmosphere. These guys got it right every step of the way. Thanks Casa Real and team for a great lunch experience. We’ll see you very soon!

Fajita Hawaiiano was great! They were very accommodating, as I wanted my rice and beans on the side, to give to my husband. He got the A la'cart beef burrito, and said it was very good as well! We had a great waitress, who got all our orders on point, as we were a party of 9, and a 2 year old. This place has great margaritas, great food and great service! We'll definitely be back!

We stopped here coming home from Cedar Point last night. We had excellent service. Their food was some of the best Mexican that I have had. Their portions were great and the pricing was excellent for the portion sizes. I definitely recommend stopping here if you are in the area.

Great restaurant! Lots of vegetarian options, ordered enchiladas with spinach (bottom dish on the picture) and mushrooms and quesadillas with veggies (top dish). Yumm! Also loved the guacamole!

I was served on 2 different occasions,a "house margarita" with NO TEQUILA in.it.i do not mean ,just a small amount. There was no tequila of any discernable amount, nor the warm fuzzy feeling after drinking a properly prepared one.I did not order it this way,i refused to pay for it the second time.on my third, and final try of this mediocre excuse for a Mexican restaurant,i ordered food to go.a combo plate of chicken and beef quesadillas. I received 2 tortillas ,one with beef, one with chicken, and NO CHEESE !!Which is ridiculous ,seeing aa how the word "quesadilla" literally means "cheese tortilla",and it was advertised on the menu that it had cheese on it.the only thing that was decent was rhe chips. This place ,by no means, has what it takes to label its cuisine as "authentic mexican"food. My advice is not to waste your money unless you do not mind paying for a plate of food that doesnt even contain the specified ingredients.Or paying for a drink that doesnt contain alcohol, which is a rip off and false advertisement.

Its ok nothing stands out we ordered drinks only to be told 15 later that they didn't have them we also felt rushed by the server even thought the restaurant was not full at all. The staff was friendly but lacked knowledge of their own menu . Ok place .

Have to say when visiting Sandusky this place is always a treat! Had the best fajitas! The meat was tender and not over cooked like most, the veggies were cooked perfectly... it was soo good I almost wanted a spoon for the extra sauce that was in the skillet! Great job! Keep it up!

Always excellent food! Server was quick to come and go without double checking if we needed anything. Previous server so hard not to notice. But I loved it all the drinks and food!

This place was awful! I live in town and normally go to El Grand Patron. We received coupons in the mail so thought I'd give this place a try. Biggest mistake. Mgmt waited to approach me half way through my meal that I could not use coupon because I got a margarita during happy hour. Refused to just charge me full price for drink and use buy one get one half off dinner. I only saved $1 on margarita. I will NEVER return to this tourist trap. Back to El Grand Patron I go! Food wasn't even good here. Server never came back to ask if we needed drink refills!

Margaritas were great and food came out in about 3 minutes after us ordering. I actually wish we could have enjoyed or drinks more before dinner arrived. Once our order was taken we had to find our server... twice. The burrito that we ordered had onions mixed in with the chicken which was not stated in the food description and went uneaten because of it.

Food was ok, nice setup. Waiter needs to find another job, clearly hated being there. Could have been a better experience!

Food was amazing and I finally got hot food with lots of flavor. It was delicious!

We waited for our table for half hour when he could easily put us on the other side he said it's closed but after asking them over and over he talked to his manager and said ok than waiting for menu and someone to take our order... After everything he came only once to check and never see him until we ask for check. We told him he never bring our tortillas and he said we should have told him earlier....Food was good but I will never recommend to anyone.. They really need to work on the service

Service was horrible..food portions very skimpy and that little margarita for $6.50. Won't go back again.
