Dash Japanese Tapas & Sushi - San Mateo - Photo album

Lovely place with amazing decor and high-quality food. We had a number of salads, appetizers, the tacos, small rice dishes, tekka maki, and hamachi kama. The service was fantastic! I’d definitely come here again.
Like their nigiri. But pet peeve of mine- for their fried items to go....soggy since they don’t have vents in the cover or air it out. Cmon folks....amateur hour. But good nigiri which is what folks care about at a place like this.
Update I drive back to Bay Area for about 7 hours because I miss Dash’s dishes so much!! Still love everything I ordered. I didn’t order any sashimi because I don’t think it fits my taste, and uni is just average. Lamp chop is not as good as before because it’s too greasy. Definitely recommend! The
If you like fresh and high quality sushi and food, this place is the one for you. I celebrated my wife birthday there and this place was the perfect place for us. The food and the atmosphere are nice. The sushi and sashimi are so fresh and tasty. The tapa food are small but they are truly yummy. The
The food is just palatable, go here if u are in a pinch and can't find anywhere else to go. Cost to quantity and quality ratio is terrible. U will end up leaving hungry and unsatisfied.
This place completely blew me away in expectations. They are not trying to be a gaudy, flashy Japanese tapas and sushi place and it shows in their dishes. The nigiri focuses on the quality of the fish and hearty molding of the piece rather than flashy decorations. Now, the price point is a bit more
Not bad. We only did the tapas. We liked half and didn't care for the other half. Must try: uni and monk fish, tamago, nabe and tacos Skip- squid legs(batter was not good overly fried) and the tempura (to fishy)
The handroll is quite good.
