The food is excellent! The restaurant is spotless. The owner is gracious, the staff helpfu! The decor artistic and interesting. The music just a little too loud for visiting while you’re dining. Even the other diners are friendly! I shall return!

One of my favorite places to go. The food is unbelievable! The staff is friendly And go the extra mile to satisfy its customers. As far as the food goes I recommend the lechon it's among one the best things I have EVER had. I recently got the Cuban and it was crispy with the perfect ratio of mustard pickles pulled pork and ham it is also a must get. If I could give six stars I would.

Stopped by to pick up a late lunch/early dinner of Lechon. Succulent, tender pork pieces, black beans and rice, plantain, pickled red onion and sauces. I will be back. The owner isn't open for dinner right at the moment, but I am hoping she will be soon. There used to be a Cuban/Caribbean restaurant on San Carlos Ave in San Carlos, but it closed, sadly. I am hoping she can extend her hours and stay for a long while in San Mateo. The food was very tasty. Of course, I also loved the music playing in the background.
Definitely going back for the Cubano!

I'm married into a Cuban family and this is authentic Cuban food made by real Cubanos. The owner is a great lady and made us feel right at home. They even cater food which I'll be suggesting to my people in our office

Ordered surf n' turf and spicy shrimp plate.. both were delicious and full of flavor! The restaurant is super clean and food served really quickly. Love the Cuban music and friendly service. Highly recommended if you are in the area for this lovely small business.
This is our first time at this establishment and it was pretty good. Smooth, efficient service accompanied with great tasting and portioned food! The pork was super tender and flavors were aromatic and not too strong! The Surf N Turf was pretty good as well! Meat and shrimp were cooked to perfection. Crisp shrimp and tender meat on a very well crisp bread and most importantly, the bread held up when held to take a bite!

I don't eat out often but after trying this place I have been back about four times in the last two weeks. It might be the most flavorful food I have had in a very very long time. If you live in the San Mateo/Belmont area and you haven't tried Cuban Kitchen, you're missing out big time. Cuban sandwich amazing.
My first time here and it's a small place with parking. Staff is wearing mask and everything very clean and sanitized. You get chips and salsa as a complementary but this is not a tortilla chips, and tastes good. Ordered Salmon fillet with vegetables on the sides, Beef empanadas, Best Cubano sandwich, Guava cheesecake and everything was so good. Definitely recommended
Ordered 3 dishes bisetc Cubano plate, shredded crispy chicken plate and the surf and turf sandwich. The Cubano plate was tasty, the chicken was flavorful but a tad bit oily. The sandwich was delicious and instead of the steak I asked for the lechon and it did not disappoint!
This is amazing food. Wow. I love Cuban soda, Cuban coffee, my veggie medley, and my wife loved her garlic chicken. The customer service was very good and the food was outstanding. You have to go here. Yummy yummy in my tummy. This is one of my new favorites.

[Summary] Casual restaurant serving authentic Latin American Cuisine that places emphasis on authenticity, quality of ingredients, and impresses you with actual taste of the food. Has an abundant menu, great customer service, and the price is impressive for what you receive.
[The Food]
Offers a ton of Latin American styled offerings including Yuca Fries, Tostones, Arroz con Pollo, and many others. We ordered many of these sides and were impressed with everything. The chicken was fresh and char broiled, giving off a perfect balance of tenderness and char-flavor. The Yuca Fries were crispy, and the condiments they offer are fresh. If I could rate this restaurant higher only for the quality of the food, I would. Among the top 5 restaurants in the bay for authentic Latin American Cuisine. Only recommendation I have for the tostones is possibly using the less ripe green plantains instead of yellow, as they absorb less the oil a little less when frying (and have a more crispy less sweet taste). Otherwise, the food here is TOP NOTCH.
[The Service]
We got our food less than 10 minutes after ordering. Super fast. Also, you can order from the convenience of your parking space via a QR code, or you can order from your table with a QR code. The staff continually checked on us, kept the place clean, were super friendly and appreciative that we were here.
[The Location]
Located directly on El Camino Real near the Hillsdale mall. Super convenient location with a surprising amount of parking. The area is safe and has things to do nearby. This is located near San Mateo downtown with shopping, bars, and parks nearby. Light traffic in the area normally.
Conclusion, a great restaurant that will impress you with the emphasis that they place on quality.
