Pick Up Stix

I was looking for a special meal that I've been craving but wanted to eat it only when I had the house to myself AND SUPERBOWL was on. So I went to get Shrimp chow mein to indulge in. The girl at the counter was really sweet. I went home to indulge, and to my SHOCK it only has seven shreds of carrots and two TINY top ends from the stalks of celery. No cabbage and sprouts. Only an IMMENSE amount of hugely cut onions. I've gotten this meal several times from two other locations in Carlsbad and La Costa. They were immaculate and ALWAYS guaranteed to satisfy with the full amount of ingredients. But this San Marcos, CA location was on my way home. Yes, there was shrimp and the side of sauce that I asked for. But rather than call and have to take it back, and including how hungry I was, as well as the Superbowl already started, I ate saucy noodles and onions. SUPER DISAPPOINTED!!!! For there not to be any customers in the store I thought the meal would've been perfect. Idk if I'll ever leave again without opening the meal right there and then at pick up, and see if I'm going to be satisfied with it at all or horrified. Again the girl was great and sweet. But the food was the demise of this location. Terribly ashamed that I was starving and didn't want to go thru the hassle of returning and being one of "those customers". I'll end up going to Panda Express from now on, as it is right across the street. Or even opt for a smoothie that was just in the next building. Ruined my experience of having the place to myself with a healthy meal. Only 1 star bc of the girl at the register. Otherwise totally would've been a ZERO. And to pay close to $10 I could've gone to an authentic Chinese restaurant and have had real deal chow mein. DEFINITELY learned the hard way.

How I love this place. Let me count the ways... The food is downright delicious- your eyes are never bigger than your stomach. It's redonkulous how much of it you can eat. Did I mention the portions are generous? House chicken is the bomb. All of it reheats well. OMG the fried rice. It's delicious ok. The service is great because it's simple. You order the food. They give you the food. You try to make it to your car without tearing into the sticky delicious goodness which is the house chicken. Please... Just do it.
