The restaurant is messy and a little dirty. Their green sauce should always be shaken before use to get the full experience and flavor. It’s absolutely delicious especially their fish ceviche tostadas. I did have to ask for napkins a couple a times before they brought them to me. Everything is also reasonably priced. 4/5 due to it being dirty but the food is amazing!!

Aguachiles verde is a must. Call in orders we’re odd and we couldn’t get an answer for a phone number. If they’re busy, wait time can add up. We waited a little over an hour for a medium order of ceviche (holiday weekend). Would have been nice to phone an order in. Still highly recommend this place.

Bad service, waitress did not speak English and was speaking Spanish back to me. Waited 30 mins to get my food even there was no other people. Food was overcooked. Not recommended.

This is my friends favorite fish tacos EVER. He’s literally always talking about them so I came and y’all, they really lived up to the hype out here. You get complementary consomé and it was so good!

Very bad experience I was doing a private doordash for my son and his father I ordered a shrimp cocktail for me and octopus cocktail for my son and a mixed cocktail for his father and they specifically said no pico de gallo and guess what there was tons of that stuff in all of the three cocktails well they didn't eat their cocktails they left most of it it was a waste of time and money and I tried calling and they like didn't even say welcome back in and it will give you guys another one you know how to make up for it no they just said oh I did mess up the total bill was $86.99 that was a lot of money wasted very upset customers

Unlike what I've come to expect of mariscos purveyors around the county of San Diego, Mariscos La Baja is clean, bright, and modern; a comfortable place for a meal. The ownership is from San Felipe, a fishing village of less than 20,000 residents on the Sea of Cortez in Baja California. Although Ensenada is the Mexican municipality most associated with the "invention" of the Baja-style fried fish taco in the 1950s, San Felipe claims to have originated it as well. Regardless of which city you believe, San Felipe-style mariscos are every bit as mouth-watering as the seafood dishes and tacos I've had from places run by Ensenada natives. Here, the "Fish Taco" is fabulous for a $1.75 taco in a sit-down restaurant with a waiter who delivers your order to your table. The beer-battered piece of fish was crispy and large. Although I consider the bagged corn tortillas here to be somewhat problematic, they were at least edible. I suggest drizzling Mariscos La Baja's fish taco with their chipotle salsa. The taco to order at this restaurant is the "Gobernador Taco," featuring plump, grilled shrimp entombed in gooey cheese with sautéed celery, onions, and bell peppers. This is a $5 taco, but a fairly large one that is served with a fork. I recommend leveraging Marisco La Baja's zesty salsa roja with this. The final taco I ate was the "Octopus Taco," which is filled with a bounty of chopped grilled octopus that has been marinated in what tastes like a wine sauce of some kind. It is a solid taco de pulpo, about average for seafood tacos in the San Diego region, which means way above average elsewhere. The tacos here come with a complimentary "Consommé," or tasty seafood-vegetable broth with chunks of fish and shrimp. Again, one gets great value for their dollar at Mariscos La Baja.
