Nice place, good food, great patio dining, love the downtown area.
My wife, daughter, granddaughter and I ate there for lunch Friday 03/02/18. Was seated by street window as requested. Maybe 20 people at time. Service & food delivered quick, waitress very diligent and thoughtful to our concerns and wishes.
Selmas always makes a great pie. I usually get the deep dish bbq chicken pizza...hard to beat

The servers were really nice. Our server, a young man, was friendly, his service was great and he took picture of us using our cell phones. He had a wonderful smile.

Absolutely delicious Chicago Deep Dish Pizza. Everything was perfect. First time trying out this place and I can tell you I'm definitely going back. The location was great right in the middle of old town San Juan Capistrano. Walked right in with no wait time. The server was very polite and very helpful. Didn't try the beers on tap but I wish I did. This place is a must try when you're in town.
Selma's Chicago Pizzeria is an incredible restaurant. There are multiple locations around the area. This particular one requires a paid parking lot, but the other ones are available with free parking. The staff here is great. The menu is extensive. Their beer selection is wonderful. Bring your entire family and enjoy their food. They show sports on their televisions in the bar area. They do have rooms that are available for private events if you are so inclined. At least one of the owners is a family man, and that goes a long way in my book.
It was a pretty slow time of the day when we visited... Before 5 for dinner. We were seated pretty quickly but, sat for about 20 mins with no service. The hosts are too cool and too busy taking with each other to help customers. I had to go in and remind them that we were there and would like to be served...we were getting ready to go somewhere else. Our server was really great and attentive and the food was good. Our pizza was missing a topping but they didn't try to charge for it. We had our pup with us and the patio was dog friendly.

I have been trying to find good Chicago style deep dish pizza in California for 23 years and found it here, quite by accident.
My Wife and I both are originally from Chicago, and we are very familiar with what makes a good, no, great deep dish pizza. This place got it right!
We split a small size, with only Italian sausage (good quality sausage too), we started off with the regular size Italian chopped salad. This was plenty of food for us both and probably too much for a couple of average eaters.
The staff was courteous and helpful, very professional. The restaurant was clean and very pleasant, with windows open to the sidewalk and an outdoor patio. There is a full bar which features a happy hour menu. The restrooms were well maintained, clean and fully stocked. Service was quick.
The price for all this was not bad either! We had two iced teas as well, and the bill, with tax, came out to just $36.96! About what you would pay for a couple of burgers in a casual dining restaurant.
All in all, I, we highly recommend this restaurant and will be coming back again.
Really good pizza. The deep dish is excellent. The sampler appetizer is also quite good. We really liked the toasted raviolis and the fried cheese. They were a little short-staffed in the kitchen so the appetizer came out a little slow, but they comped us for it. We will definitely come back.

Good pizza with good beer selection. We always order the deep dish pizza and it never disappoints. We ordered the Hawaiian specialty pizza and it was good but the pineapple chunks were too big. My husband ordered the hot pizza and it was perfect. We did order the potato chips but they were not as crispy this time around and they were really greasy. I will still order them again because I know they are good they were just off a little. The only odd thing that happens was that we ordered coffee and it was cold... when we told the waitress she said she would brew a new pot for us. Someone must have turned off the coffee pot by mistake.
Selma's is a Chicago Style pizzeria which does a fine job of mimicking a Chicago Style Deep Dish pizza. Now, whether or not, you classify Chicago Style Deep dish as a pizza, or a meat pie is irrelevant: the food is just good. The service is also good.
The only issue I experienced was that I went there when it was about 92 degrees outside, and it felt like they only had the fan on. I couldn't get comfortable with the heat. I felt sorry for the wait staff who had to deal with going into the kitchen to get the food. If they had turned on their A/C, I would have considered giving them 5 stars, something I don't really do that often.
We're big Selma's fans. Chill pizza joint with good bar food, salads, sandwiches and options to accommodate all diets such as vegan, gluten free and keto. Parking is usually pretty easy in the structure around the corner, but you may have to park on the roof. Good options for families and big parties. Nice outdoor dining options, rotating taps and sports always playing. Servers are always pleasant. Pizza can be expensive because of the quality ingredients and crust options. We got deep dish Chicago style for takeout. Best local pizza we've had in a while-fresh garlicky sauce, great flavor pepperoni. I ordered by phone to save the restaurant the on-line middleman charge, it was easy, fast, and pleasant.
Recently went to SJC Mission & went walking around afternoon chose Selmas Pizzeria to eat at. Was a quite afternoon,not a lot of people. But the food was fantastic, best pizza I have had in a while. All meat pizza,thin crust all ingredients fresh and homemade even the 15 & 16 yrs old with me were in awe. TY for wonderful food & fresh made tea.

Probably the friendliest staff I've encountered at a pizza restaurant. Cella was very helpful in detailing the plates I was asking about making my decision easier. Ended up choosing a Chicago pie and wasn't disappointed. It was more than enough food for one person even though it was only four slices. Overall I would come back again.
Although I think they gave us the wrong pizza. It was good and filled me up. My son was so so about the food. Maybe the basil. Hey you can always ask for with out. Coming again. Pizza was crispy just how I love it props on that.

The food was great. The people at the front were a little busy to seat us but the Manager came over, sat us, answered all of our questions and took our order. He was great and we could see he is a very active leader. Most businesses would fair better with him at the helm.
I finally found good pizza in Orange County. I discovered this place by chance, the deep dish pizza is exactly like my favorite place I used to order from growing up in the mid-west. The pastas are really good here too, I like the pesto with chicken.
