The food is delicious and really good serving sizes. I shared a shrimp enchilada dish and it was amazing, but also quite filling! They are also quite accommodating to dietary requirements.
First time Visitor. This is a historic landmark. Restaurant has an old feel Adobe style. Food was delicious. Spacious indoor dining area, full bar where food can be served and an outdoor dining area. Servers are very attentive. Plenty of parking at the rear of the building
Only our second visit to El Adobe, and WE LOVE IT! The building, the decor is all authentic and like stepping into a time capsule. The wait staff are wonderfully attentive without being overbearing or overly present. The food is always sumptuous and delightful, and our tummies are always full, and
Adorable ambiance. It feels like you have entered an old Spanish era. We came here super early in the morning so we got seated very quickly. The restaurant did fill up closer to 12 pm. Our server was pleasant. We got the skinny margarita and the fall sangria to drink. The margarita was decent. The s
This is one of the oldest restaurants in San Juan Capistrano. I had heard that former President Nixon helped make it more popular and so I was excited to go for dinner. The cheese enchiladas we're very tasty; the sauce was very zesty and the refried beans and rice were delicious. They have Charro
Pretty good food and service. First time here. Drinks seemed a little weak. Got busy quick for lunch.
I veered off from my group to visit this place just for the nostalgic appeal. I found the converted wine cellar interesting and was very glad that I stopped and checked it out before leaving the area.
Historic place with a lot of spanish charm. My wife and I split the 2 taco combo and each had a Cadillac Margarita. Good food and drinks. Great service and Spanish atmosphere. Food was good but wasn't the best Mexican food. Definitely want to make reservations. We got lucky on a Friday for lunch a
This is a very old restaurant in an extremely old building going back to the very earliest days of San Juan Capistrano. As you approach the hostess station one is standing in what was a stagecoach loading station between two buildings, now joined together. It has a dungeon that was the local jail
Old school vibes. Excellent prime rib and the president's choice combo. The Chile rellano was the best I've had in a long time. Light batter and not too greasy.
Excellent food, great service and ambience. I was craving Mexican food after my 10 hr flight from UK and El Adobe did not disappoint! I ordered the table side guacamole, an El Presidente Margarita with a sugared rim and a shot of amaretto, and mole chicken enchiladas. I left with my Mexican mojo res
Great restaurant! The food was great, we really liked the deserts. I recommend the fried ice cream and churros. The restaurant is historic and has tons of character. Food pricing wasn’t too bad. I Recommend going there.
Absolutely cannot wait to visit San Juan Capistrano again, in large part due to the amazing experience I had at this restaurant. Beautiful beautiful historical location, and very fast and good service. I went there for taco Tuesday night with my family, and we all enjoyed our tacos immensely. Great
Wow, outstanding traditional Mexican food. I was here visiting from Texas - where we love our Tex-Mex food. This is not Tex-Mex. This is old school Mexican food and it’s awesome. Great street tacos (Taco Tuesday) and a great menu. The actual building is legit - huge, beautiful, authentic. Apparently
Absolutely loved this charming restaurant! It's been a family favorite for years! We were visiting for Christmas & my family took us here to celebrate an early birthday! The food fabulous! The tamales, enchiladas, quesadillas, fajita platters amazing! Not to mention the delicious Margaritas! As a fanat
Amazing ambiance and above average Mexican cuisine. There was an actual harp player and continuous music. He even came table side to play for people while they ate. Service was way beyond expectations. Real authentic feel here. Lots of stairs to different levels and even a special place for pri
I cant believe I havent rated this place. I love it. I can see why Nixin used to frequent here. The food is great. This place has so many things I like about it. I even heard it is haunted. I have never seen a ghosts but I can imagine the food making me come here after my death. Yum. The atm
Nice after all this time to find El Adobe still serving good food in that classic setting.
This place has been around almost as long as the Mission, and with good reason. The food is excellent, but more important is the ambiance. It has a very unique and quaint feel. Sure there are probably many building code violations, but that is part of the charm. The service is also top-notch. This p
