The menu is sort of confusing because there is the original burrito (only the veg version comes with avocado, sour cream, and lettuce) and the regular burrito but no listing for a super burrito with all the fixins. They told me it wasn't on the menu but they sell it. In the end, I got the chimichanga which came with a great, refreshing green sauce.
Also tried the ahogado. Now, I don't love wet burritos so I don't eat them often but a more experienced taster told me that it came with the good cheese.
The tacos came with a good amount of meat. I didn't love the cabeza and the carne asada. I think the meats are a hit or miss for me.
No free chips or salsa bar. I have never found parking except on the side streets every time I went.

Found this place via googling “Best Tacos in San Jose,’ and I wasn’t disappointed. My gf however, was disappointed because they didn’t serve enchiladas, but we didn’t google ‘best enchiladas,’ now did we?
I want be I be very clear that I ordered basic tacos: 1 carne asada, 1 chili verde, and 1 lengua. All three came with hot sauce already on them. One even had a dried red chili pepper. I didn’t mind and even asked for extra hot sauce because some like it hot and I’m some.
However, my gal’s mom also ordered two ta os and could t finish them because they were too spicy. She’s Salvadorian, and I feel like that makes a difference.
My gal ordered a burrito with everything. When you say everything, that includes hot sauce. See the pattern? She is not a fan of hot sauce, but starvation pushed her through like a champ, but they may need to restock the napkins at our booth since her nose was rubbing like it had robbed a bank.
The place was nondescript, which usually means quality in a Taqueria. Places that worry too much about how they appear usually don’t give enough attention to quality.
The restrooms were a little messy, but it was nearing dinnertime. You will need a key to use the restrooms.
There were high chairs available for children. Our toddler had rice - no hot sauce was added.
Parking is limited, but the street is also available.
Pricing was very fair, I thought. But don’t look for free chips and salsa, because they may has well have been on the back of a milk carton.

Food and service was great and fast! I got the El Pastor plate & it was cheap in comparison to other Bay Area food! So delicious as well! Lastly, the staff was so nice and welcoming. Will be coming back!

Great Mexican food right off the freeway on Old Oakland Road. Love the burritos here as well as the tacos. Favorite is the carne asada burrito with all the extras (sour cream, avocado and cheese). Plenty of parking in the parking lot.

Found this fun place coz it stays open super late. Tried the carnitas burrito and chimichanga so far. The salsa and the meat is super tasty. Guacamole n cheese is the plus menu though - we ordered wrong the first time, so that was a good thing to find out.

Dos tacos de barbacoa con todo. Went there for a quick lunch. I ordered a couple of tacos and an horchata. My coworker had a fish taco and a shrimp taco, it looked good. Mine were tasty too. Good flavor, smelled tasty inside, quick service, nice customer service. Good prices. Not much for decor inside, but that's not why I go to some of the small taquerias. There's only 6 or 7 parking spots in back.

Great little taqueria off 13th. Tacos are loaded, the San Diego nachos are huge, and everything tastes great. Lengua tacos are my favorite thing here, super tender. The Al pastor is also solid. Good aguas frescas as well.
Prices are very good for the quality and quantity.
It can be tough to park in this area but they have a little lot off the adjacent side street.

I rarely eat Mexican food, but I started eating more when I got their Quesadillas. It’s delicious. Their asada and el pastor were juicy and flavorful. And I think their spicy sauce is the best!! These men know how to make great food.

Been coming here for years!
There buche is the bomb I get that on a super burrito or San Diego fries. Love them tacos especially tripas, lengua, fish are 🔥
The horchata is really good too.
Also the service is always on point!
My lady loves and always gets the super quesadilla.
Any time I'm in SJ I always stop if I'm craving some Mexican food.

My friend Jose @CompaaJavii was craving a burrito and I took him to my favorite Mexican spot in San Jose. I got the Carne Asada San Diego fries. These pictures don't do it justice, you need to sample it. I got it with everything, which includes fries , guacamole, cheese and sour cream. Pro tip, get the fries extra crispy so that it's not soggy. The toppings will do that if you get the fries regular. My friend got the Chimichanga, which deep fried burrito with lettuce, tomato, sour cream, cheese and guacamole. There so much flavor in every bite. The meats are well seasoned. Go check them out! @TaqueriaLorenas

Carne Asada fries are the best here.7

I used to live a block away many years ago and this place had excellent food, especially tostadas. I haven't been here in many years since I moved but was passing through so I stopped for a carnitas super burritto. I noticed right away the place had been fixed up, service was ok and food was ok but not as good as it used to be. The burrito had too much rice and not much meat. It looks a lot nicer now, but the food was a lot better about 10 to 15 years ago when we used to come.

Someone said best taqueria in the world showed up and well best tacos ever going to try some other menu items too wish I knew about this place when I was in trucking school!

Got a taco dorado, taco with al pastor, and a San Diego fries with carne asada.
Out of those, the al pastor taco was my favorite.
The fries were pretty good! Not as good as I remember SD fries being, but it has been 10 years since I lived there so maybe nostalgia is clouding my judgment. It had plenty of lime flavor that I liked. I would suggest sharing unless you're a food hero lol.
The taco dorado was pretty bland. I wouldn't get it again
Parking was a little bit difficult. There's a parking lot behind but it was full when I went.
Overall cost about 15, so a great price point. Probably gonna come back to try other things.

One of the last reasonably priced places in San Jose. A bit run down, they could decorate to make it look better.
Really nice staff.

Tried this place late night during a weekend trip to SJC. Had four types of small tacos: lengua (tongue), cabeza (beef cheeks), Chile verde (pork in a spicy green sauce), and buche (marinated pig stomach). All of them were very good. The lengua and buche in particular were so flavorful, soft, and tasty.
My friends got some of the other taco options or quesadillas, and there was near unanimous approval. The fish tacos are nothing special, I’d say; still good though. The ceviche was interesting and worth trying but a bit on the plain side.
Overall, highly recommend. If I ever come back to SJC, I’ll be returning here for sure.

Great stuff. If you want some authentic, simple eats without the frou-frou other joints throw in, this is your place. Had the carnitas and chorizo tacos. Tamales are hot!

By far the best simple Taqueria in the Luna Park hood!! Basic taco's and tamale's is what they do and they do it well! Quick service and a clean establishment. Open till midnight most nights and 2a on weekends. Great pricing and really friendly cooks.
