Review La Lune Sucree - San Jose

Great place to study! But since it’s a small store, seatings and tables are limited inside. Ordered myself the matcha lavender. One of the best matcha I had near campus. Only thing is that the cup was leaking. Quick fix tho <3

Small sit-in or sit-out café. It's like an American café with San Jose flair. Student run front of house. Don't come expecting a Parisian brunch spot. The branding concept is *different* calling it La Lune Sucreé but then looking at the menu options, all that to say: you'll still enjoy it very much. You should know the tea is better than the coffee. Sandwich options are far less French. Fast and great service today. Refreshing pit stop. Reasonable prices to feed oneself on the go. Veggie options!! I got the vegan avocado pesto sandwich but I believe the croissant is made with dairy butter. So 3.5/4 stars.. French fried onions were a delightful surprise imo but definitely not French 😅 haha. Hope to see more vegan options as the place grows and tries out even more creative things ❤️ hint hint Hot For Food's recipe for a Monte Cristo... Would you consider it Owner? 😋😋😋😋

Be patient here. The food is worth it and delicious, but they may have been understaffed when I went (who isn't these days?) It took a bit of time for them to get our order to us, but the food is amazing and their honey ginger tea was incredibly soothing for my sore throat! I give the girl working here so much credit for seemingly doing it all. This is a lot of work to do, and while it might seem slow for you if it's just one person there, I thought it was worth the wait.

Very pleasantly surprised to find a freshly baked pastry shop still active in downtown San Jose! I absolutely melt over a good almond croissant and theirs is no exception. Fully covered with slivered almonds and I’m pretty sure there was a bit of chocolate inside, too. With a cup of coffee you will be in heaven. Next time I will try to get there well before 20 minutes before close and check out the rest of their selection! There was outdoor seating in the alleyway where you could get some fresh air, too. *PS, nice to see a place with a grammatically correct foreign name! Feminine adjectives add an e in French so this place is 👌 in my book on that alone 😜 *

This is a tiny place downtown but it’s an opportunity to enjoy a real Parisian cafe experience and the food is an experience too because a real chef crafts it. Even the coffee is an experience. I’m a former Peets barista and I own an espresso machine, but I just ordered a cappuccino with my crepe because even I’m not that good and I had months of training to make great espresso drinks then in the traditional Dutch method Peets used to use decades ago.

In A Nutshell: -La Lune Sucree aka The Sweet Moon is a great place to grab some breakfast. -The little outdoor patio parallel to the Paseo de San Antonio makes for a picture perfect scene reminiscent your favorite "arrondissement" in Paris. -Now to the food, if you like crepes theres plenty choices here. -Their avocado toast is delicious along w/ their Breakfast Bendict. -They also love dogs here & while we were dining they offered to give our dog some chicken..how awesome is that! Overall, this a nice taste of France right here in DTSJ (Downtown San Jose)!

It was my first time trying this place out and I was pleasantly surprised, the atmosphere was great and the service was amazing. I ordered their earl gray cake and it was delicious, it wasn't too sweet which was to my liking. I will definitely be coming back.

Absolutely loved the atmosphere. Little pricey for the portion sizes, but the cashier who helped me(her name was kayleen I think) was very friendly and made comfortable conversation with me. Helped me find a quick snack while i was visiting the surrounding area.

A wonderful little French cafe nuzzled in the heart of downtown San Jose. Me an my boyfriend have been here twice now and both times it was amazing. I order the breakfast croissant sandwich and a latte simple and amazing a must try for sure and a one of a kind in California.

I visited here for a Saturday brunch. Nice European-style bakery. PRO: I had Moon over Norway (ham, poached egg, cheese, etc) and the stuff inside the crepe was EXCELLENT. Poached eggs were so good and just the overall flavor was great. Nice patio. Chocolate macaroon (the coconut flake thing, not the colourful mini-burger looking thing) was good. Almont croissant was good... like 7.5~8 out of 10. CON: The actual crepes. They were hard, rubbery, difficult to cut, and too chewy. I thought they were more like the Chinese scallion pancakes, but even tougher. Service felt a bit on the slow side. I give it 3 stars plus 1 more star for the excellent crepe filling.

It's not terribly welcoming, but it's a good option if you prefer a cleaner looking environment to the Philz to it's left. The coffee isn't bad, and the food looks good, although I haven't tried it yet. It's a good option if you're in a hurry for a coffee. The chairs could benefit from those little pads on the bottom of the legs to make them not screech as they cross the tile.

Nice environment. Fresh and delicious choices. The outside seats are so cute and pretty. The workers are friendly. However, The missing star because we had to wait for 15 min for a Nutella crepe, but we understood that because the man who was before us order took them a long time to prepare.

A delicious sweet treat before class! Loved it! Warm, fresh, and so tasty!

I like this place a lot - the selection (lots of great crepes and other pastries, coffee, gelato, and more), style (a nice european vibe with relaxing jazz), and typical fullness are all great. However, it is quite costly and typical wait times are huge. If you are okay with those two flaws and like European-inspired breakfast or lunch food, this is a great place to try.

We ordered a cake by phone and paid for it online. Cake is ready for pickup on time and the cake is fantastic! My 5'11" (yes, I read reviews and your responses before venturing into order a cake) daughter and her friends loved it. Awesome Chef Bettina and Mark! I wish you would do personalized names on cakes by the time we order our next one!
