Review Jinya Ramen Bar - San Jose - San Jose

Adithya Athreya
What can I say about Jinya other than its my favorite ramen place. For me, no other ramen place has matched up to Jinya until now. Jinya at San Jose has a good patio seating with a table fire and ceiling heaters. These made the seating comfortable for when we were there a few days ago on a cold California night. The food, being hot and spicy, kept the cold at bay. Spiciness, of course, is as you want it. Mild, medium, spicy, and hot. If want spicier than hot, do ask your waiter for the extra spice if it's not already there at your table. The food quantity and quality as usual was a chef's kiss. I am still lamenting about the fact that they stopped the spicy edamame. I wish they bring it back on the menu. The regular edamame, even though good, doesn't match up to the spicy edamame that they had a few years ago. Overall, you won't be disappointed with Jinya. Its always been a definite revisit for me if I'm eating at the restaurant. Take out is kind of iffy. I like the ramen hot. Take out neans cooled down food, which even upon reheating isn't that great. So I recommend eating at the restaurant, if you are comfy.l doing that.

Ambience is nice and so is service. But food is okaish. I tried vegan harvest ramen and spicy chicken ramen. Both were okay! They weren’t spicy even when I ordered hot version of it. And their meat imitation was little sweet in taste. It wasn’t bad but definitely doesn’t taste like meat! :D Overall it’s ok to visit/skip.

Great taste and wonderful ambiance. The chicken broth ramen was delicious with a spicy chicken, love this chain restaurant and glad that they main the same taste.

This my personal place to eat ramen 😋 in Santa Clara County. Some people prefer orenchi ramen off homestead and Lawrence expy but there is something special about this place especially there ramen eggs.

I think this is my very favorite Ramen bar in San Jose - it is hard to say specifically why but I always feel very satisfied after I eat here, more than I have been in the other places I have tried. It has a fairly simple layout, yet still quite comfortable. My preference is to sit at the central table with the fireplace built in, but there are plenty of tables both in the main area as well as in the outdoor extension. I tend to prefer the Tonkotsu Black ramen, often adding some shrimp wonton noodles to it. This is very tasty and all the ingredients make a nice blend with the rice noodles, and the soft boiled egg is always a treat. They have a great selection of small plates as well, including caramelized cauliflower, tempura brussel sprouts, octopus balls, and spicy tempura shrimp. This Friday makes it a great place to visit somewhat frequently since you can jump around between the various ramen dishes as well as the small plates. If you're looking for a great ramen place with very tasty dishes, this place is highly recommended.

I visited this place twice. The service is good and quick. I tasted 2 different vegetarian ramen(both spicy). I liked the spicy creamy vegan ramen better. I'd have liked tofu to be fried/cooked . The tofu they put is super bland. Their outdoor patio has ample space. There will be a little wait when you go for dinners on the weekend. The parking is always full since it's in the mall. It's a good try- but not my to-go spot!

Been a year since I went here. Ordered the spicy chicken Ramen and Jinya bun. The Bun was the highlight and I recommend getting it. The Ramen was good but the portion was small. It's a good place to get appetizers and drinks. But for main dishes I feel you'll be paying more than what you deserve. A good place to end the night if you just get drinks and appetizers. Not really a good dinner place. But the Ramen is still good. Just not a highlight.

Excellent ramen place with flavorful food. Loved the vibe inside and the food turned out to be delicious. We are vegetarians so tried their impossible gyoza, impossible bun, flying vegan harvest ramen and spicy creamy vegan ramen. It’s little on the expensive side but worth it as far as food is concerned. The gyoza 🥟 were really good in taste so as the vegan impossible bun. Both the ramen had different flavors and the portions are really good. We’d definitely be coming back here. The place is quite busy so expect a wait, I’d recommend to go early especially if it’s a weekend and you’re going for dinner.

We went as party for 4. I like that the place serves good ramen even for vegetarian since all of my friends we’re vegetarian. It didn’t take long to grab a seat. But took a while to get our order. I liked the broth of the ramen, the Brussels sprouts were way too oily but the chicken fried was good. I would definitely recommend this spot for vegetarian who wants to have ramen.

Cozy ramen bar located in the Oakridge mall in Almaden valley, San Jose. Please note there is no entrance to the restaurant from the inside of the mall. You will have to get outside and walk a few feet along the sidewalk. The restaurant itself is pretty nicely set up and has both inside and outdoor seating and a bar as well. Food comes out relatively quickly and is fantastically presented. I ordered the flying vegan harvest bowl and it was delicious. It had ample protein, choice of 4 different types of noodles, and generous amounts of roasted veggies on top. It was simply umami. The place is usually crowded, so expect some wait time. They also take orders on the phone, in case you want a takeout.

Really good ramen! We tried one vegan and one vegetarian option for ramen. Both had their unique styles and appealed to different tastes. Their portions are pretty wholesome and only one ramen was enough for a complete lunch. The seating is pretty limited in this location but the service is quite fast so you don’t have to wait too long.

It was busy on a Saturday evening but we were able to sit at the bar right away. I shared the kids meal and the pork bun with my son. It’s plenty of food. I really enjoyed the bun. The kids ramen is on the plain side but that is how most kids would like it. Tempura Brussels we’re ok. They need a little more taste maybe some tempura dipping sauce? They do come with a creamy sauce but my husband doesn’t do creamy sauce.

This restaurant never disappoints for food and ambience. We had tried the one in Omaha and then we tried here after 3 years. Exact same quality. And very very delicious. We had spicy vegan ramen. They have good vegetarian options. Highly recommend this place!

This place has been a favorite for ramen noodles. They have like 6 bowls and I've tried 3. My favorite is the tonkatsu and flying vegan with 2 eggs and mushrooms. The broth is really good. Very clean place. The service is really good. I have never had any problems with anything here. Gets very busy during lunch time.

One of my absolute favorites for Vegan Ramen! Love the spicy creamy vegan ramen. Sometimes they forget to tell you that one of the spicy sauces is not actually vegan, so always ask!

Food was amazing! The appetizers are delicious and the service is great! The only thing was that the outside area was cold but it was all better after the ramen was served!
