Izakaya Restaurant - San Jose - Photo album

Cozy authentic fabulous! As good as it gets, got lucky we stumbled on this spot after attending an event nearby. Do try the chirashi and nigiri choices, particularly Uni. It’s the best way to experience the deftness and skill of the sushi chefs. Seat at the bar is perfect, feels like warp travel
Great food and fair pricing. Came across this restaurant by accident and decided to give it a try. After waiting in line for quite some time (this has happened to us various times, it is worth the wait but it won't be quick. If you're super hungry or in a hurry go someplace else). The food and th
This was a great find while on a business trip to San Jose. It is small, crowded, and has a very authentic feel to it. The food was amazing and there was a nice variety of options on the menu in addition to some daily fresh catches. A bento box is a good way to try some of the options and you can al
Went in with low expectations but the food is super authentic and reminded me of hole-in-the-wall joints in Japan. Massive menu with plenty of options to hit your Japanese cravings and they did not sacrifice quality for quantity. Our group liked every dish we ordered! Place is quite small so we ha
I love this place the service is always good and the food is even better. The oyster shooters with the quail eggs are amazing. The curry is always full of flavor and the sushi is always fresh. The building is a little old and the restaurant is very small. It's not ideal for wheelchairs. They do not
Sushi is fresh, well-presented, and portions are good. However, a few negatives. This place is small and packed. As we were ushered to our table along the narrow pathways, I rubbed my hips and attire with other customers and chairs. That’s tight! Wait times are 15-30 minutes, depending on the size o
This place exceeds our expectations every single time. After a long week of work, my boyfriend and I love to come here for some damn good sushi and some sake. The fish is so fresh and the service is great. Open late and there's always a seat open for us.
my experience of this restaurant is very good, the service is good, the bar is a bit small with only 5 tables and a small bar. very good staff. the food is good but if you add miso soup it's 3 bucks for a small bowl (usually other restaurants will be free). the food is great
Got the salmon sashimi bento w/ chicken teriyaki and ton katsu. The order was for takeout, and everything was well packaged and accurate. The tempura was 8/10, the chicken teriyaki was 8/10, the ton katsu was 8.5/10, and the sashimi was 7.5/10. The salad had some very tasty cold noodles on it and ca
Small but packs a punch. Traditional Japanese style food done well. Might be hard to get a seat but worth the wait. There's also an extensive whiskey list if you're into that. The entrance is through the bigger restaurant next door and then through the curtains on the left.
It is small place with lots of character, you can sit either by the Sushi bar or one of the few tables. Sushi is fantastic! Service is excellent. They even have a very good Japanese beer on draft
The dishes here are awesome... although the place is a bit small. The food is good and the service is good. When they are busy, the sushi comes out slow. But the taste is delicious.
Every sushi was so delicious, but we waited for too long
One of the best spots in bay for Japanese food
The menu is massive and a bit overwhelming so I started with a bento box with chicken teriyaki and a pork cutlet. It comes with a soup and salad. Both meats were juicy and tender. The tempura mix was a bit too soft to my liking but still good. I ended with their special dessert, mochi doroyaki with
A true hole in the wall spot, ive driven and walked past this place dozens of times and cant beleive what ive been missing. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is great.
Came by at 545 on Sunday and the place was packed. Service was good. Food was good. My group order the sashimi combo, bento box and side dishes.
Solid, authentic Japanese with tons of options. Small place with cute decor and many lucky cats. I recommend chicken skin yakitori and hamachi bento, but I must try more things! Price is as expected for good Japanese (not high value, but reasonable).
