The vegan sushi here is out of this world!! Unique combinations and incredible flavour!! On par with Shojin in LA. We tried Open Invitation, Boddy and Soul, and Colonel's Pipe. Everything was phenomenal!! I am really eyeing that Spicy Garlic Miso Ramen-- the photos look amazing!! The simple classic vegan rolls are a good price, the Speciality Rolls are pricier because they are special :) loaded with goodness. They are only doing take out at the moment-- no dine in, no delivery, they aren't affiliated with any delivery services, so it might not be so convenient unless you're right in the neighbourhood. There aren't any parks around for a nice picnic! But you can manage and you won't be disappointed!

The food was as delicious as it was beautifully plated (boxed to go, but you know what I mean). Each roll was yummier than the last, truly an outstanding experience with the food we ordered: Body & Soul Secret weapon Colonel's pipe Surprise Ending Perfect Alibi Shishito Peppers Cannot wait to go back!

The best vegan sushi place!! This place won’t disappoint, fresh flavors and diverse rolls. No mock meat or fish (thank goodness) so these rolls are truly born from the creativeness of Shizens Chef. They are doing take out during Covid, which is a treat given the line to dine is usually over two hours.

I am so happy they reopened for carry out! This is best vegan food for me in the Bay Area! Every time is so delicious! Wish they would have delivery😊. My absolute favorite is a body and soul roll, but not the best option for carry out, it gets wet in the box. So now I am ordering “prime suspect” every time! Sooo good!

I was highly skeptical of vegan sushi, but got convinced to try it, so glad I did. If you like spicy food, try the Secret Weapon and Surprise Ending. Only taking a star off because the pickup process is a nightmare, with a queue waiting to pick up from this tiny all-purpose window even if others are ordering fresh dishes and your order is just sitting there in a bag.

Exceeding creative and fun special rolls (what they're famous for). It's pretty amazing how their vegan creations mimic traditional sushi (I think for instance it was a little piece of tomato that mimicked the shine of fresh fish on the top of one of the rolls). One of our rolls was not a roll at all-- it was separated pieces topped with a thin slice of beet and that topped with a tiny dollop of vegan mayo and vegan roe (I think it was seaweed derived). That presentation was beautiful. Besides the special rolls we also tried the grilled mushrooms and those were interesting and delicious. The beet salad was very simple; it had a nice and light citrus ginger dressing. The Japanese curry (lily flower) was my least favorite but still good to try. Shizen is political and you have to get on the wait list on Yelp at the right time (the Yelp app let me know when to sign up) but it was still after my desired time so we were seated roughly an hour late. Nice atmosphere but the music was a little loud for my preference.
